About the Kicker Marine Dual-zone Level Control

Own a big boat? Wouldn't it be nice to control the sound levels in different areas of the boat? That's right — blast it out loud and proud up on deck, while you keep the mood more subdued down below.

Kicker's ZXMRLC dual-zone remote level control is the tool you need to get it done. Plug your audio source into one end of the module and then run the output to two separate amps, one for each zone. Then connect the level controls to the module and mount one in each of your zones. Just twist the knobs to chill it out or get it cranking.

That's not all this cool device can do, though. If you've got an ATV, motorcycle, or classic car without a traditional head unit, connect your iPod® or other device to the module and use the level control to adjust the volume for a single amp and zone. Warranty: 1 year.

Features

Overview: The dual-zone, ZXMRLC Remote Level Control/Preamp from Kicker delivers ultimate flexibility and control in a boat's audio system, or in any area where two levels of loudness zones are needed. The Kicker ZXMRLC provides separate level controls for a pair of audio zones on a watercraft, such as the tower and cockpit speakers. The ZXMRLC utilizes a single RCA input, two RCA outputs, two remote gain control knobs, remote extender cables, mounting hardware, and power connections.

Stereo RCA Input/Outputs: The Kicker ZXMRLC features a single line-level, (RCA) stereo input that handles up to 4.5 volts and differential-balanced inputs for minimizing unwanted noise. The ZXMRLC boasts a stout preamp design providing up to 9VRMS of unclipped output to amplifiers and dual line-level, (RCA) stereo zone outputs, each with its own rotary volume control knobs.

Note: The ZXMRLC can be used with an iPod or any MP3 player for applications where traditional head units are not needed.

Dual Zone Volume Controls: The ZXMRLC's two individual volume-controlled stereo RCA outputs can be used for any application where greater control is needed over amplifier volume and level. Tower speaker volume can be turned independently from the boat speakers. Subwoofers or transom speakers can be added and controlled as well.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Do you need two amps for this to work? I want to run the tower speakers off the amp and in boat speakers off the head unit as they already are?

A
Both of the speakers zones would need to be powered by an external amp as the Kicker installs, in-line, on the audio cable between the source unit (stereo) and external amp(s). While I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, I hope the information helps.
