High-fidelity power that fits almost anywhere

Kicker's 11IX1000.1 mono amplifier delivers up to 1,000 watts RMS to your sub so you can enjoy a big kick to your music. This compact IX Series amp includes a low-pass filter and bass boost that help you shape the bass, while the subsonic filter eliminates unwanted signals below the range of human hearing, improving the amp's efficiency and your sub's performance.

Noise-reducing technology removes interference from your car's electrical system, so that your subs see the purest signal possible. Kicker includes a wired remote level control so you can dial in just the right amount of bass from the driver's seat.

Dependable, efficient, and cool

This amp's compact chassis hides a technical powerhouse. It uses the same voltage-boost technology found in some electric-hybrid vehicles to achieve over 90% efficiency — which means you get more power from a smaller, cooler amp. Kicker combined this high-current design with Class D technology to unleash more wattage per cubic inch than just about any other amp around. And an IX Series amp runs so cool you can stack multiple amps together for a professional-looking installation.

Features

Class D Amplifier Design: The Kicker IX1000.1 is a mono-block Class D amplifier, which uses digital switching to amplify audio signals. This design results in high efficiency and minimal heat output. The Class D design also allows the IX1000.1 to have a very small footprint for ease of installation.

Mono-Power Amp Design: The IX1000.1 is designed with specific features to power your subwoofers with a frequency range of 25-200 Hz. The amplifier can handle impedance loads down to 2 ohms; it's rated at 550 watts RMS x 1 channel into 4Ω (25-200 Hz, <1% THD+N) and 1,000 watts RMS x 1 channel into 2Ω (25-200 Hz, <1% THD+N).

Note: This amplifier is not designed for full-range operation.

Power Supply: The IX-series mono subwoofer amplifiers use a boost-converter power supply to improve sound quality and efficiency. Boost-converter technology allows the amp to achieve efficiency of more than 80%. Because there are fewer internal parts, the amp has a smaller foot print and operation is cooler.

CEA 2006 Compliant: The Kicker IX1000.1's power and signal to noise ratio are measured according to CEA 2006 standards (Consumer Electronics Association). These standards allow you to accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even if they are different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging.

Signal to Noise Ratio: While the CEA 2006 S/N is 75 dB (measured at 1 watt), the S/N at rated power is 95 dB.

Kicker Livin' Loud Certified Power Certificate: The amplifier comes with a certificate indicating the total RMS power output of the particular amplifier, along with the model number, serial number, tested date, and whether the amplifier passed the total harmonic distortion, signal-to-noise ratio, and protection circuit tests.

Low Pass Filter: The IX1000.1 is equipped with a low-pass electronic crossover; the crossover point is continuously variable from 50 Hz to 200 Hz and the slope is 24dB per octave. Properly set, the low pass filter creates a smooth transition between the subwoofer and the sound system's full-range speakers.

Subsonic Filter: The amp features a 24 dB/octave subsonic filter fixed at 25 Hz. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound, but unnecessary oscillations, which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. The built-in subsonic filter cuts the frequencies below 25 Hz to improve the performance of the speakers by eliminating harmful distortion.

Note: The subsonic filter is not defeatable.

Auto Turn-On: The Auto Turn-On switch offers three options:

  • +12 V: The amp turns on when +12 volts is applied to the remote terminal.
  • DC Offset: The amp turns on when a 6 volt signal is detected on the RCA inputs (from a speaker-level source); in this mode the amp's remote terminal acts as a +12 volt output to turn on another component.
  • Audio: The amp turns on when an incoming audio signal is detected; in this mode the amp's remote terminal acts as a +12 volt output to turn on another component.

Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT): To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the IX1000.1 utilizes Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT), offering significant noise reduction and compatibility with virtually any factory radio. There is a switchable input level control; when set to Low level, the amp can accommodate an input signal of 125mV-5V, at High level, the amp will accept 250mV-10V signals.

Gain Control: With the Input Level Control switch at the appropriate setting, you can set the rotary Gain Control to match the output of the source unit. The Gain Control adjusts with a flat-head screwdriver, and can be set between 0 and 11.

KICKEQBass Boost: When you want more bass out of the amplifier, you can adjust the Bass Boost circuit. The bass boost is centered at 40 Hz and is continuously variable from 0 to +18dB.

ZXRC Remote Bass Control: The IX1000.1 comes with the ZXRC Remote Bass Control, which allows you to control the output level of the amplifier from the front of the vehicle. The wired remote comes with a bracket to mount it under the dash. The supplied 20' cable, with RJ-25 phone plugs at each end, connects the wired remote bass level control to the amplifier.

Note: The Remote Bass Control measures approximately 2-1/4" wide x 1-1/4" high x 1.75" deep (2-3/8" deep including the knob and wiring).

Protection Circuitry: The IX1000.1 has protection circuitry that will turn the amp off in the event of overheating, over voltage (power input), under voltage (power input), short circuit (speaker output), and over current (speaker output). If the Protection LED on the front side of the amp illuminates red, the protection circuit has engaged and the amp will not play until the problem is resolved.

Stackable: The optional Kicker IXSM stacking mount (item number 206IXSM, sold separately) allows you to stack two Kicker IX-series amplifiers on top of one another.

Connections

Power Connections: The power and ground connections are set-screw terminals that will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on set-screw terminal will accept up to 8-gauge wire. The included 3mm Allen wrench is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.

Note: Kicker recommends the power and ground cables be 4 gauge minimum and an external 100 amp fuse is required to protect the amp.

Speaker Outputs: The IX1000.1 is equipped with one pair of set-screw speaker terminals that will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. The supplied 3mm Allen wrench is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.

RCA Input Connector: The amplifier is equipped with one pair of RCA inputs, which can be used for a line level or speaker level input signal. If the source device doesn't have preamp level outputs, the KISL speaker wire to RCA adapter (item number 206KISL, sold separately) is needed and the Input Level switch should be set to High.

Line Level Output: The amplifier has a pair of RCA line level outputs for feeding a signal to another amplifier. It is the same signal that is input through the line inputs. The amplifier's crossovers have no effect on the line level output signal, however, if the input signal is crossed over at the source unit, the filtered signal will be passed on to the second amplifier. The line output is available when using either line level or speaker level inputs.
