Leave it to Kicker to come up with an economical way to get massive amounts of bass in your ride. Their CX1200.1 amplifier delivers up to 1200 watts RMS to your subwoofer — that's a very strong watts-per-dollar ratio. And they don't cut any corners building this amp, using oversized transistors, special transformers, and a heavy-duty heat sink to bring you awesome power that won't fade when you push your system hard.
Kicker includes a low-pass filter to keep high frequencies away from your sub, a fixed subsonic filter that protects your sub from inaudible, power-devouring ultra-low frequencies, and a variable bass boost that allows you to add some kick to the mix. An optional wired remote bass level controller is available so you can crank the bass up or down from the front seat.
Includes hardware for vertical mounting
Kicker uses their Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT™) to keep this amp's input free from noise or interference, so you'll get a clean signal from almost any system, even a factory radio. Rugged metal end panels provide even more shielding from radiated interference. The CX1200.1 also comes with hardware that lets you mount it vertically, so it'll take up very little floor space and look ultra-cool.

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.
Bought this amp and 2 kicker compr 12's as a gift for my son and I've got to say, my son, his friends and myself were surprised. I would highly recommend this amp.
Pros: Small enough to fit in a extended cab truck and push 2 12's
Very heavy bass great for making my truck rattle hard
Pros: Deep lows
For the money this is a heck of an amp which is capable of pushing two quality 10" subs to the max, which is probably going to fullfill 95% of the requirements of young thumpers. That is where it stops. SN ratio on the high side. Pulls more current than it should based on actual output wattage (V x A = W). If you want quality and true rms watts, look elsewhere.
Pros: Bang for the buck
Cons: Not high quality, but again it's dirt cheap and actually decent for thumping.
Great amp for the price got this hooked up to two Rockford p3s sounds great
Pros: Small compact can put just about anywhere
Cons: Doesn't come with a bass knob
Nice amp. Way better than expected but this baby sucks the power when volume and bass is turned up. I'll have this amp for a very long time, very happy with this purchase.
Cons: Kills alternators if abused
This amp is pushing (2) 10" Rockford Shallow Mount P3S Woofers and people who have heard it are amazed! They think we have 12's. In summary, this thing rocks and we love it!
Pros: High powered, compact & economical.
Cons: There isn't any way to disable the DC offset, this posed a problem when the first amp we received had an internal failure. This caused the amp to automatically turn on when it should have been off, ultimately draining our car battery and leaving us stranded.
Bought this amp to power two 12" kicker comp r subs for my son in his Nissan Xterra. High quality product. Runs very cool. Produces a high amount of bass.
Pros: Quality. Price. Running temperature at 2ohms. Size
My Polk Audio Subwoofers have all the power that they need. There is clarity and with the bass adjustment , the amount of bass can be tuned in.
Pros: The ability to adjust the bass to the music. The power on demand .
This small but powerful amp is great for those adding a sub or two to a system. I have this powered by 4 AWG T-Spec wire and it is more than capable of supplying my 2 Infinity Kappas with plenty of power. It is easily wired and its small size allows you to mount it virtually anywhere and in any position with the included vertical mounting hardware. I have been running my new system for about 3 weeks and have been very impressed. The removable wire size connection modifiers were a nice touch as well. Simply slide them out for larger (2-4 AWG wire). All amp connectors are very solid and show no signs of weakness.
Pros: Mounting options, ease of setup.
I love this amp, it makes my kicker subs hit like there supposed to
This amp is very powerful using it with a 12" RE- Pro sx sub. Most dont know brand but american made in washington with Very Very few contracts to other suppliers i got mine from a different retailer in Oregon. I am using a basic power compacitor as of now for my system one had for 2 years or so and it is indicating a drop in voltage down to 10 while using sub at full car standard radio modle. only issue with this amp is Power requried to push my 1000 watt rms sub min imum with 2400 peek is needing a secondary battiery. this is not a bad thing really though when looking at this amp it just uses proper power for what trying to run and it dose run Wounderfully running 1100 watt rms for 1.5 constent even with little fluxuation in voultage do to standard compacitor it has not over heated or had any issues. This amps safty fetures are alone worth the extrea penny. I use a breaker and not old school fuse when sending power to my cap and when blowen do to bad wireing by brother at first the protect light came on and nothing on any of my car audio or systems fried only a small power wire to breaker. Best amp I have owned by far more when get newer faster discargering batterie to keep up with it. only down fall i run into is selection of options is limited to three. grammer not proper but ex-military, 4 year college just in hurry to do other things today hope was useful
Pros: High output, No heat issues in oregon where temps as of late hit 83 with less then 10% huminity, Amazing safety protections internal shown with light when low or high power inputed, no issues with over use of protection of system and not allowing to use, comes with certified power test, comes with mounting sytems for me were useful. small and sleek design not to take up whole trunk older modle amps with same power did.
Cons: Require secondary battery to run large systems, only three gain, x over, bass boost controls, though has low high out put button that have not played with until new battery in place.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: There are a couple of options in that Type R series 12" Kicker. If your interested in or have the dual 2 ohm subs, the Kicker 1200.1 will work nicely. However, if you have, or are interested in the dual 4 ohm subs, you will want to consider The KX2400 to push them near their potential. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Jun 18, 2014 ] Staff
