Control over your bass

Kicker includes a low-pass filter to keep high frequencies away from your sub, a fixed subsonic filter that protects your sub from inaudible, power-devouring ultra-low frequencies, and a variable bass boost that allows you to add some kick to the mix. An optional wired remote bass level controller is available so you can crank the bass up or down from the front seat.

Vertical mounting

Includes hardware for vertical mounting

Hooks in almost anywhere in almost any position

Kicker uses their Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT™) to keep this amp's input free from noise or interference, so you'll get a clean signal from almost any system, even a factory radio. Rugged metal end panels provide even more shielding from radiated interference. The CX300.1 also comes with hardware that lets you mount it vertically, so it'll take up very little floor space and look ultra-cool.

Features

Gain: The rotary gain control is continuously variable from 125 mV to 5 V when the Input Sensitivity switch is set to Low and 250 mV to 10 V when the Input Sensitivity switch is set to High.

Input Level Switch: Set the input level switch to Lo when using a preamp level input signal and Hi when using a speaker level input signal.

Crossover: The crossover is always engaged (cannot be bypassed). The crossover point is continuously variable from 50 to 200 Hz and the slope is 12 dB per octave.

Subsonic Filter: The subsonic filter is fixed at 25 Hz and 24 dB per octave.

Auto Turn-on: The amp offers two automatic turn-on modes:

  • +12V: connect a wire from the remote turn-on lead from your source unit to the REM terminal on the amplifier; this is the preferred turn-on method
  • DC Offset: turns the amp on when a 6-volt DC offset is detected at the high-level speaker inputs when the source unit is turned on

Bass Boost: The bass boost circuit is continuously variable from 0 to +12 dB and centered at 40 Hz.

Optional CXARC Remote Bass Level Control: The CX300.1 is compatible with the optional CXARC remote bass level control which allows you to remotely control the output level of the amplifier. The CXARC's control knob can be mounted near the driver's seat of your vehicle, while the control's 19.75' cable is extended to the amplifier location.

Vertical Mounting: The amp can be mounted vertically using the included brackets. The vertical dimensions are approximately:

  • Width: 9"
  • Height: 7-1/4"
  • Depth: 2-3/8"

Signal to Noise Ratio: The S/N under CEA-2006 compliant conditions (1 watt output) is 75 dBA. The S/N at rated power is 95 dB.

Connections

Left Side of Amplifier:

  • +12V (power): terminal strip; accepts spade connectors up to 0.5" wide
  • REM (remote turn-on): terminal strip; accepts spade connectors up to 0.325" wide
  • GND (ground): terminal strip; accepts spade connectors up to 0.5" wide
  • Speaker Outputs: terminal strip with two pair of subwoofer outputs; the two outputs are internally shorted together, making it easy to wire two subwoofers; accept spade connectors up to 0.325" wide
Note: The Amplifier is not equipped with an internal fuse. An external 40-amp fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. If the system has only this amp and a wiring kit is used that includes a fuse with a value other than 40-amps, the original should be replaced with a 40-amp fuse.

Right Side of Amplifier:

  • RCA Input: one pair of stereo RCA input jacks; also used for speaker level input (item number 206KiSL needed, sold separately)
  • RCA Output: one pair of stereo RCA output jacks; line level output when using either preamp or speaker level inputs
  • Remote Bass: 3.5mm mini-jack for use with the optional CXARC wired remote bass level control

Amp Wiring Kit: Kicker recommends using an 8-gauge wiring kit with this amplifier.

Q
Can this amp be wired at 1ohm since I only have one sub that is 300rms 2ohm dvc? Don't like the idea of 150rms@4ohm and I already bought it.

Product Highlights: mono subwoofer amplifier 150 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms) I copied and pasted from the Crutchfield website. It seems like this amp is a perfect match for your sub wiring (300 watts RMS at 2ohms)
edward  Apr 19, 2017

I did the exact same thing. It really is fine at 150 rms at 4 ohms. I wouldn't recommend running at 1 ohm because you can do significant damage to the speaker over time with that little resistance.

Unfortunately I can't answer the 1ohm wiring part. But I can say that I have this running a single 12" JL Audio sub through high-inputs off of a factory radio. And the amp is solid!! Never ever had an issue with it & it sounds great! Hope this helps!

Q
Can it run a ASC Package Dual 12" Kicker Sub Box Vented Port Subwoofer Enclosure C12 Comp?

A
as long as it stays in the recommended ohm load it should be fine
brian  Feb 25, 2016
A
Yes it could but I don't think you'd be happy with it. It's a mono amp (1 channel). Why run 2 speakers on 1 channel? You'd only be pushing like 150 watts to each speaker (assuming 2 ohms for each speaker). Your speakers are probably able to handle a lot more than that. So why such a small amp for such a big load? But, that is your call. I have mine running only 1 kicker 8" series r comp and it sounds good. Don't think I'd be happy with it running 2 though.

I just bought 2 kicker 10c104 comp 10" subs. Will this be enough to power them? Or will I need a 600w amp.

I'm pushing 2 12" cvr kicker with this amp. I assume it should be enough for 2 10".

I Am powering one twelve inch sub and this amp has more power than the one speaker can handle. I cannot assure you that it will be enough but I feel it will.
doug e  Jun 16, 2015

I think you better you better go with the 600 W amp.

Q
I bought this amp with a 10" kicker comp sub and have misplaced the book. Right now I have two of the four speaker wire connections running to the sub. One + one -. It seems since the speaker also has four do I wire all four from the amp to speaker to maximize what I have? At this point the bass pounds hard so I may not need more yet just incase.

Q
Is this amp bridgeable ? The kicker cx300.1
jason  Oct 13, 2014
1 answer
A
No it is a mono channel amp and there is only 1 channel. Class D amps are already bridged just don't heat up like when bridging a 2 channel amp.

brent  Aug 22, 2014

The amp is great. It has more than enough power for the 10" sub.
clinton  Aug 19, 2014
A
Nope it should be fine because it is 300 watts at 2 ohms. So you can divide that in half for 4 ohms. So 150 watts would be just fine. Probably just right.
adam  Aug 19, 2014
A
Hey Sam, This amp works perfect for my 10" Kicker sub so should work fine for you.
bruce  Aug 18, 2014
A
Addendum to my prior answer. After reviewing the product manual it appears the amp will work at 4ohm 150 watts rms. Check the wiring diagram page and pick which setup works best for your subwoofer Apologies for the confusion. Thought it was 2ohm only amp.
aaron  Aug 17, 2014
A
This is a 2 ohm amplifier. If your subwoofer is single coil 4 ohm it will now work properly. If the subwoofer is dual voice coil 4 ohm you can use this wiring diagram: 1 DVC 4 ohm mono http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MiP3pw5wfSl/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html It's more power than that subwoofer needs, but if you don't turn the gain up so far as to cause clipping, it'll do nicely and you have room to upgrade. I recommend also buying the remote bass control. The little knob adjuster makes listening to a variety of music a lot more enjoyable.

I have a kicker 10" comp with an RMS of 150. The sub is 4ohms. Would this amp be too powerful for the subwoofer that I have?

Q
Does your gain on your amplifier have to be at the same level with the other two levels...the middle and the bass??
felix  Aug 12, 2014

A
I just connected it to the same wires that ran to my old subwoofer, then adjusted volume on the amp to match by ear. The remote bass boost button is then used to tailor it as needed based on the source.
collin c  Aug 14, 2014
A
Physically no. Ideally you would set the gain for each channel so that at maximum volume there is no distortion. But of course you would want to turn it down to match the volume levels of your other speakers.
david  Aug 13, 2014
A
No, it all depends on the speakers you are driving in how you make the adjustments
doug e  Aug 13, 2014
A
The gain is an independent control on the amp therefore it will control whatever you have your amp connected to. I'm running a mono setup so my amp is only outputting to my sub(bass). The highs and mids are all controlled from my receiver/deck and output to 4 3-way speakers mounted in my doors. I just played with everything and fine tuned it to get a rich equal sound. I also have the remote for the amp so I can adjust the bass on the fly for whatever type of music I am listening to. I have noticed that on my setup and with previous serious before that when you turn the gain all the way up you will start getting distortion at higher volumes. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
shea m  Aug 13, 2014
A
No , and it all depends on your type of music also, I adjust mine according to music , hope this helps . James

Q
Can you run two of these amps (one as the slave) off each other and use only one bass controller?
carl minor  Mar 27, 2014
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: From the information we are provided and looking at the owner's manual it looks as if you will need a remote bass controller for each amplifier individually. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
