Power for your bass

Leave it to Kicker to come up with a great way to get strong bass in your ride. Their CX300.1 amplifier delivers up to 300 watts RMS to your subwoofer, from a 7" x 8" chassis that'll fit almost anywhere. And they don't cut any corners building this amp, using oversized transistors, special transformers, and a heavy-duty heat sink to bring you awesome power that won't fade when you push your system hard.

Control over your bass

Kicker includes a low-pass filter to keep high frequencies away from your sub, a fixed subsonic filter that protects your sub from inaudible, power-devouring ultra-low frequencies, and a variable bass boost that allows you to add some kick to the mix. An optional wired remote bass level controller is available so you can crank the bass up or down from the front seat.

Vertical mounting

Includes hardware for vertical mounting

Hooks in almost anywhere in almost any position

Kicker uses their Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT™) to keep this amp's input free from noise or interference, so you'll get a clean signal from almost any system, even a factory radio. Rugged metal end panels provide even more shielding from radiated interference. The CX300.1 also comes with hardware that lets you mount it vertically, so it'll take up very little floor space and look ultra-cool.

Very nice amp for the price, and it doesn't get very hot at all. It pushes 2 8" 2 ohm dvc Kickers to the point of bottoming out even at 1/2 gain.

Kicker amp 300.1 (600watt peak)

Written by: Blc11 from brandon, MS on February 28, 2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Has great power and does not cut off when all of the current is pushed through on the low bass drops. Does not drop enough voltage to dim the headlights or interior lights of your vehicle. So there is no need for capacitors to be installed. This is a great plug in and play amplifier.

I got this on sale and was crossing my fingers it would be powerful enough to drive a JL BassWedge CS112-WXv2 that I'd purchased with another amp that I returned because it was too big. Man, no worries at all - this thing drives a 12" sealed sub like nobody's business. Super satisfied.

Pros: Compact, great sound, flexible mounting options. Looks good too, on the rare occasion I actually see it.

Cons: None whatsoever.

Awesome amp and a great deal!

Written by: Paul H from New Jersey on December 1, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We bought a few of these amps to put into cars that we fix and flip as audio upgrades. Let me tell you these little guys are impressive - lots of power out of a small amp that doesn't get very warm! I have a similarly powered JL Audio amp that cost 3x as much and these are every bit as good. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to add 300 watts of sub power - a steal at $100!

Pros: Cost, quality, brand name, power output

Cons: Makes me upset that I spent $300 for a similar unit from JL Audio!

Love it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very pleased with this amp. I purchased it to power on 8" Polk DB840DVC. It has more than enough to push this speaker. This is installed in a 2004 Subaru Forester and gain set at about 1/2 the mirrors vibrate, but there is not so much bass that you will disrupt the neighborhood. Although with the right sub and enclosure I am sure this amp has way more potential. I feel this was a great amp for the price that suites my needs perfectly. Thanks Crutchfield for the great products and fast shipping!

Pros: Small fit under passenger seat. Plenty of power for a single sub setup. Clean sound.

Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Great Bang For Your Buck!

Written by: JasonM from SO. ILL. on April 24, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

You will look long and hard for a amplifier with this kind of power for the price. I am running this amp at 2ohms to a single HELIX 10" sub in my GMC crew cab and it is amazing the amount of bass being produced. I have owned many brands of amps over the years and this one is up at the top of the list. Also kicker tests its amps before they ship and you get a factory power output slip with each. Mine came in at 318.

Pros: POWER-PRICE-KICKER QUALITY

Cons: I have not one complaint about this product.

Top of the line amp

Written by: Jon from Texas on April 14, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I pared the amp with a JL Audio CS110LG-TW3 Single 10 inch sub woofer in a 85 Chevy C10 truck . The recommended RMS watts for the sub woofer was 100-400 watts. With the brand Kicker they will always exceed the watts of their amps, so instead a 300 watts I received amp that delivered 346 watts RMS. Being the first amp I have ever bought kicker is now my go to amp brand. The amount of POWER coming from this little amp was flawless and gave plenty of power to the Sub Woofer. I will be keeping this system for a long time in my truck.

Pros: Quality Sound Power Customer Service Size Design

Cons: None

300.1 amp

Written by: Scott from Florida on January 28, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love the size of this amp!! Very small footprint, came with a certified power output from Kicker, tested and passed at 310watts RMS. I love this about Kicker! I have had it for about a week and it pushes my enclosed comp s 10 perfectly! So far, so good. Thank you Crutchfield, for carrying a great amp from a great company!

Pros: Small footprint, and even though I didn't use it, the vertical mounting bracket is a nice touch.

Cons: Would have liked to see a 40 amp fuse built in, just for extra security.

Great liittle Amp

Written by: Brian from Island Heights, nj on December 29, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am using this to drive a Sony XS-GS80L subwoofer. This is a great little amp. It is small yet puts out plenty of power. It is also very adjustable to get the sound you want out of it, The control buttons need accessibility and if you plan on mounting the unit somewhere difficult to reach, I would recomment the remote. I was concerned about mounting it on a crapet floor due to heat so may a thing platform out of HDPE. Not sure if it was necessary but...

Pros: It is unit is small and can be placed anywhere due to its sze. It comes with brackets to mount off a wall. It has a good clean sound.

Cons: Cannot be mounted upside down (Such as under something). It appears the fin orientation is important for cooling it the manufacturer always wants teh unit laying flat. Although there is no mention of mounting flat to a side wall, they provide brackets to reorientate the unit flat even when mounted to a side wall.

'08 350-Z Install

Written by: Sunnfunnc from North Carolina on November 2, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you need more crisp, clean bass than this amp provides (coupled with a Kicker 40CWD104 subwoofer) for a 350-Z, you are going to have serious loss of hearing at a very young age. . . . I SAID IF YOU NEED MORE CRISP, CLEAN BASS . . . . I think you hear me now.

Pros: More than enough bass without being obnoxious, good value

Cons: No installation instructions for non-professional installers

Very Impressive

I was impressed with this amp the second I opened the box. The amp's birth certificate said it bench tested at 337 watts when it was rated at 300. Stuff from China won't do that. All the necessary mounting hardware and instructions were included for a pain free installation. I'm driving two 10" Kicker subs with this amp and it rocks. I couldn't be happier with my combination. Thanks for recommendations Crutchfield, I trust you with my future audio needs hands down. Cheers!

The BIGGEST 300 watts I've ever heard!

Written by: Terry from Marquette Heights, Illinois on July 15, 2013

I'm in my mid 30's and have been doing high powered car audio for a long time. In the past, I've done the multi-amp systems and pushed over 1200 watts. However, in my 2002 Mustang GT that I race, I wanted less weight. I just put this amp in because it was small, light and cheap. This thing HAMMERS! This is the biggest bang for the buck that I've ever gotten in car audio. I'd easily put it up against most other brands' supposed 500 watt amps.

Pros: Small, lightweight, extremely efficient, very affordable

Cons: Absolutely nothing!

Connections

Left Side of Amplifier:

  • +12V (power): terminal strip; accepts spade connectors up to 0.5" wide
  • REM (remote turn-on): terminal strip; accepts spade connectors up to 0.325" wide
  • GND (ground): terminal strip; accepts spade connectors up to 0.5" wide
  • Speaker Outputs: terminal strip with two pair of subwoofer outputs; the two outputs are internally shorted together, making it easy to wire two subwoofers; accept spade connectors up to 0.325" wide
Note: The Amplifier is not equipped with an internal fuse. An external 40-amp fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. If the system has only this amp and a wiring kit is used that includes a fuse with a value other than 40-amps, the original should be replaced with a 40-amp fuse.

Right Side of Amplifier:

  • RCA Input: one pair of stereo RCA input jacks; also used for speaker level input (item number 206KiSL needed, sold separately)
  • RCA Output: one pair of stereo RCA output jacks; line level output when using either preamp or speaker level inputs
  • Remote Bass: 3.5mm mini-jack for use with the optional CXARC wired remote bass level control

Amp Wiring Kit: Kicker recommends using an 8-gauge wiring kit with this amplifier.

10 questions already asked

as long as it stays in the recommended ohm load it should be fine [ Brian  Feb 25, 2016 ]
Yes it could but I don't think you'd be happy with it. It's a mono amp (1 channel). Why run 2 speakers on 1 channel? You'd only be pushing like 150 watts to each speaker (assuming 2 ohms for each speaker). Your speakers are probably able to handle a lot more than that. So why such a small amp for such a big load? But, that is your call. I have mine running only 1 kicker 8" series r comp and it sounds good. Don't think I'd be happy with it running 2 though. [ matthew  Feb 25, 2016 ]
I'm pushing 2 12" cvr kicker with this amp. I assume it should be enough for 2 10". [ CESAR O  Jun 17, 2015 ]
I Am powering one twelve inch sub and this amp has more power than the one speaker can handle. I cannot assure you that it will be enough but I feel it will. [ DOUG E  Jun 16, 2015 ]
I think you better you better go with the 600 W amp. [ REYNALDA D  Jun 16, 2015 ]
No u need the 600 [ Eddie  Jun 16, 2015 ]

No it is a mono channel amp and there is only 1 channel. Class D amps are already bridged just don't heat up like when bridging a 2 channel amp. [ underwear  Dec 04, 2015 ]
Nah man. Works good [ Brent  Aug 22, 2014 ]
The amp is great. It has more than enough power for the 10" sub. [ clinton  Aug 19, 2014 ]
Nope it should be fine because it is 300 watts at 2 ohms. So you can divide that in half for 4 ohms. So 150 watts would be just fine. Probably just right. [ Adam  Aug 19, 2014 ]
Hey Sam, This amp works perfect for my 10" Kicker sub so should work fine for you. [ Bruce  Aug 18, 2014 ]
Addendum to my prior answer. After reviewing the product manual it appears the amp will work at 4ohm 150 watts rms. Check the wiring diagram page and pick which setup works best for your subwoofer Apologies for the confusion. Thought it was 2ohm only amp. [ Aaron  Aug 17, 2014 ]
This is a 2 ohm amplifier. If your subwoofer is single coil 4 ohm it will now work properly. If the subwoofer is dual voice coil 4 ohm you can use this wiring diagram: 1 DVC 4 ohm mono http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MiP3pw5wfSl/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html It's more power than that subwoofer needs, but if you don't turn the gain up so far as to cause clipping, it'll do nicely and you have room to upgrade. I recommend also buying the remote bass control. The little knob adjuster makes listening to a variety of music a lot more enjoyable. [ Aaron  Aug 17, 2014 ]
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system. [ Krissy  Aug 16, 2014 ]  Staff
I just connected it to the same wires that ran to my old subwoofer, then adjusted volume on the amp to match by ear. The remote bass boost button is then used to tailor it as needed based on the source. [ COLLIN C  Aug 14, 2014 ]
Physically no. Ideally you would set the gain for each channel so that at maximum volume there is no distortion. But of course you would want to turn it down to match the volume levels of your other speakers. [ David  Aug 13, 2014 ]
No, it all depends on the speakers you are driving in how you make the adjustments [ DOUG E  Aug 13, 2014 ]
The gain is an independent control on the amp therefore it will control whatever you have your amp connected to. I'm running a mono setup so my amp is only outputting to my sub(bass). The highs and mids are all controlled from my receiver/deck and output to 4 3-way speakers mounted in my doors. I just played with everything and fine tuned it to get a rich equal sound. I also have the remote for the amp so I can adjust the bass on the fly for whatever type of music I am listening to. I have noticed that on my setup and with previous serious before that when you turn the gain all the way up you will start getting distortion at higher volumes. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask [ SHEA M  Aug 13, 2014 ]
No , and it all depends on your type of music also, I adjust mine according to music , hope this helps . James [ JAMES  Aug 13, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: From the information we are provided and looking at the owner's manual it looks as if you will need a remote bass controller for each amplifier individually. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Mar 31, 2014 ]  Staff
