Control over your bass

Kicker includes a low-pass filter to keep high frequencies away from your sub, a fixed subsonic filter that protects your sub from inaudible, power-devouring ultra-low frequencies, and a variable bass boost that allows you to add some kick to the mix. An optional wired remote bass level controller is available so you can crank the bass up or down from the front seat.

Vertical mounting

Includes hardware for vertical mounting

Hooks in almost anywhere in almost any position

Kicker uses their Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT™) to keep this amp's input free from noise or interference, so you'll get a clean signal from almost any system, even a factory radio. Rugged metal end panels provide even more shielding from radiated interference. The CX600.1 also comes with hardware that lets you mount it vertically, so it'll take up very little floor space and look ultra-cool.

Features

Gain: The rotary gain control is continuously variable from 125 mV to 5 V when the Input Sensitivity switch is set to Low and 250 mV to 10 V when the Input Sensitivity switch is set to High.

Input Level Switch: Set the input level switch to Lo when using a preamp level input signal and Hi when using a speaker level input signal.

Crossover: The crossover is always engaged (cannot be bypassed). The crossover point is continuously variable from 50 to 200 Hz and the slope is 12 dB per octave.

Subsonic Filter: The subsonic filter is fixed at 25 Hz and 24 dB per octave.

Auto Turn-on: The amp offers two automatic turn-on modes:

  • +12V: connect a wire from the remote turn-on lead from your source unit to the REM terminal on the amplifier; this is the preferred turn-on method
  • DC Offset: turns the amp on when a 6-volt DC offset is detected at the high-level speaker inputs when the source unit is turned on

Bass Boost: The bass boost circuit is continuously variable from 0 to +12 dB and centered at 40 Hz.

CXRC Remote Bass Control: The bass output level can be controlled remotely using an optional wired remote bass control (item number 20612CXRC, sold separately).

Vertical Mounting: The amp can be mounted vertically using the included brackets. The vertical dimensions are approximately:

  • Width: 9"
  • Height: 7-1/4"
  • Depth: 2-3/8"

Signal to Noise Ratio: The S/N under CEA-2006 compliant conditions (1 watt output) is 75 dBA. The S/N at rated power is 95 dB.

Connections

Left Side of Amplifier:

  • +12V (power): set screw terminal; will accept bare wire up to 4-gauge
  • REM (remote turn-on): set screw terminal; will accept bare wire up to 8-gauge
  • GND (ground): set screw terminal; will accept bare wire up to 4-gauge
  • Speaker Outputs: terminal strip with two pair of subwoofer outputs; the two outputs are internally shorted together, making it easy to wire two subwoofers; accepts spade connectors up to 0.325" wide
Note: The Amplifier is not equipped with an internal fuse. An external 80-amp fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. If the system has only this amp and a wiring kit is used that includes a fuse with a value other than 80-amps, the original should be replaced with an 80-amp fuse.

Right Side of Amplifier:

  • RCA Input: one pair of stereo RCA input jacks; also used for speaker level input (item number 206KiSL needed, sold separately)
  • RCA Output: one pair of stereo RCA output jacks; line level output when using either preamp or speaker level inputs
  • Remote Bass: 3.5mm mini-jack for use with the optional CXRC wired remote bass level control

Amp Wiring Kit: Kicker recommends using a 4-gauge wiring kit with this amplifier.

Q
Will this amp be enough to power a 12" 07 kicker cvr?

Definitley...I have this amp hooked up to my JL Audio CP212-W0v3 subs and it's amplifies the sound more than you'll ever need for casual use. I would also recommend the Kicker 12CXRC remorte bass control.
david  Feb 09, 2016
A
Yes this will be plenty of power. I have 2 10" JL Audio's In my 04 350z. I have had this amp for over a year and half and I have loved it! No complaints with it at all. Great amp.
cody ellis  Feb 09, 2016
A
Yes. I have had this amp on an L7 12" kicker. Pushed it very nicely.
phillip  Feb 09, 2016
Q
I have this amp and the protection light is on. How do I wire this to 2 12" Rockford fosgate punch subs. They say 8 ohm on the back of them. Is it even possible to use this amp? There is no wattage marking on the subs either.

This amp has 4 channels for full range or mid-bass - each of which will take a 4-ohm load, and one 2-ohm sub channel, so you can wire both 12" in parallel by wiring both positive terminals on the subs to the + out on the sub channel out, and likewise for the negative terminals. That would give you two subs with a 4 ohm load on the amp. If the subs have dual 8-ohm voice coils you could bridge them both and end up with a 2 ohm load on the amp, which it will handle. Plenty of wiring diagrams will show you how to do this. I don't know enough to tell you why the protection light is on. I'd need to know what else is wired to it. This amp requires 4-guage wire run from the battery with an 80-amp in line fuse 18" from the battery terminal, and the ground wired to the frame. The amp may be sensing it isn't wired properly or grounded properly. You have to take care of that problem first, or rule it out as being the problem.
p t  Dec 28, 2014
A
If they are 8 ohm you would need to hook them up in parallel to drop the rating to 4 ohm. The amp should work at 4 ohm If the sub has one set of connections try wiring like this Positive from amp to positive of both subs negative from amp to negative of both subs
gregory  Dec 27, 2014
A
It is possible to wire those subs to this amp. To answer your question with the protection light check your fuse in the amp it might be blown. If the fuse is fine make sure your power wire is not grounding out on any surfaces and make sure you have a proper ground if the ground is not correct or the power wire is grounding itself out the amp can go into protection mode to save itself. and in one case i have seen the amp stay in protection mode and never come out with could be an internal circuit has been fried. make sure you dont have the gain cranked turn all your setting down and don't have any subs connected while trouble shooting this issue.

I really can't say without knowing the information on the speakers. Sorry

Q
is there any internal fuses in the amp?
christopher  Sep 29, 2014

A
This amp is not equipped with an internal fuse. An 80A inline fuse is recommended. By the way, this thing powers my 1200 watt kicker sub fantastically! What a great combo.

Q
Why is the PRT light flickering and the power light won't light?
melanie  Sep 19, 2014

Some where along your run the ground wire or power wire are grounding the unit out improperly. you might also want to check the fuses to see if there blown. or if the gound wire is not pushed in all the way and is touch the power wire its sending the unit into protection mode.
sean  Sep 23, 2014
A
I can't give you anything but guesses, but if the protection circuit is on and there is no power indicator light the first thing to check is that you have correct voltage to the amp. This amp requires 4 gauge wire run from the battery with an 80-amp fuse in line on the positive lead within 18 inches from the battery. So that lead runs from the battery positive terminal and the negative grounded to the frame and both run through the firewall to wherever you installed the amp inside the car. I read posts of other people with the same problem that changed out the amp but that did not help them as the issue persisted. If it's hooked up correctly then the next thing to do is take it to a car audio installer.

Yes it controls the bass boost. Bass is either too low or not enough without it. I suggest getting it as the bass needs adjusted all the time depending on the song and type of music.

Q
Can I hook up 2 10" subs to this amp?
michele  May 12, 2014

A
Yes. The amp has two pairs of speaker outputs. You can bridge the amp and drive one 2ohm sub, or you can use all of the outputs and drive 2 4ohm subs.
p t  May 14, 2014
A
Yes
alexander  May 13, 2014

Yes. That's exactly what I have running mine.
aaron  May 13, 2014

Depending on ohm, and output I would say probably yes
michael p  May 13, 2014
A
Yes, I have two 12" subs hooked up currently
justin  May 12, 2014

What kind of subs? I have two kicker comp d 12" hooked up and they are pretty loud.
jacob  May 12, 2014
A
Yes... No problem. I have the amp running 2 10" Kickers & they hit great!!
thomas  May 12, 2014
A
It depends on the watts of the subs, if each sub is 300 watts you should be ok, this amp is rated for 600 watts peak. Personally I use this amp to power one 12in apline type s which has 500 watts so I'm never peaking the amp.
scott  May 12, 2014
Q
Will this amp work and provide just enough power to these subs? Kicker 40DCWS102
