Here's the Kicker

As if Kicker wasn't already stiff competition for any affordable car speaker, their D-Series speakers once again raise the bar. In addition to providing excellent sound, these Kickers offer a thin profile that allows them to fit in more vehicles.

Solid sound

The 41DSC6934 6"x9" speakers will give you clarity like you've never had with your factory speakers. The 3-way design recreates a more dynamic sound by dedicating the highs to the PEI domed tweeters and the lows to the polypropylene woofer, while the 2" midrange driver delivers an extra dose of warmth and detail. The 41DSC6934's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios, but these speakers will handle up to 90 watts RMS if you decide to incorporate an external amp.

Highlights:

  • 3-way car speakers (pair)
  • 6"x9" polypropylene woofer cone and 2" midrange cone with ribbed polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI domed tweeter
  • power range: 2-90 watts RMS (360 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 30-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 92 dB
  • top-mount depth: 3-3/16"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles included
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker D-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for their rigidity and light weight. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

1/2" PEI Balanced-dome Tweeters: The 1/2" PEI balanced-dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with quick, detailed and spatially-correct imaging. PEI is an acronym for polyetherimide. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling.

2" Dome Midrange: The 2" PEI dome midrange provides a strong response in the critical midrange band where the majority of the vocals are located.

Written By JIM B., Pennsylvania on Monday, December 01, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

ADDED TO MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA REAR DECK THE SOUND DIFFERENCE WAS UNBELIEVABLE , LOVE THESE SPEAKERS

Pros: QUALITY MATERIALS EXCELLENT SOUND

Cons: DOES NOT FIT ANY MOUNTING HOLES ON REAR DECK OF 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA AS DESCRIBED WHEN PURCHASED, YOU MUST DRILL YOUR OWN HOLES AND HAVE YOUR OWN MOUNTING HARDWARE , INSTALLATION NOT FOR A NOVICE.

Satisfied with purchase

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price these are a great upgrade over factory speakers. They fit differently from what the master sheet showed but it wasn't a big problem. If you want amazing sound you'll need to spend more money.

Pros: Sound quality, price

Cons: N/A

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were a tight fit in my cobalt. A little bigger than stock. They handle bsss pretty good and are pretty clear. At high volume s, though, the have just a little crackle to them. Just enough to notice. Still a very good upgrade.

Pros: Sound clarity bass is good cheaper than most

Cons: Mountin Screws are crap crackle slightly at high volume

They Do Work

Written By Sportsp, Elgin, OK on Thursday, November 20, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've never been a huge Kicker fan and these won't change that. They're nearly the right size for my '03 Dodge Ram 2500, but not exactly. I'm most disappointed with the sound, frankly. The paper factory speakers put out a lot of thump. I expected these to at least match the factory sound. They don't. They're just OK. I'll stick with them but they're definitely not what I'd hoped.

Pros: They almost fit. They do produce sound.

Cons: They don't fit exactly. Very little bass.

Excellent Speakers for a Great Price

Written By vectorspace, Albuquerque, NM on Monday, November 10, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers replaced rear factory speakers in a 1997 Crown Victoria. I was skeptical that it would make a difference in sound quality. I was completely wrong. After I installed these I was listening to NPR news on the way to work and they had the normal background environment noises in the news piece. At one point I was startled because I thought a sound came from outside my car -- it was so real. Music quality was obviously great. It was so good I could not tell where the sharper highs and extra base were coming from. Do I skip replacing the front speakers because it sounds good already? Nope--I learned my lesson. It's definitely worth replacing factory speakers if you care at all about audio quality. Again, Crutchfield made it easy. Easy to buy, they included the adapter cables for free, installation hints were good, and they shipped it quickly.

Pros: Awesome sound quality. Easy replacement installation.

Cons: None.

Decent

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Sound is better then stock.. there is a way to keep stock amp and stereo deck as well.. just have to be smarter then most when it comes to electrical items in cars. over all good price for speakers and the sound quality. will still end up putting an amp and sub in when time allows for it.

Pros: sound quality is way better then the stock and the bass with the stock amp is good as well.

Cons: speaker must be modified, which will end factory warranty.. this is also in a 2006 Monte Carlo SS Special Edition w/ 5.3L V8. rear stock amp.

Pros: Quality product

Good sound, great price

Written By Jason -, Austin, Texas on Monday, October 20, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed in 1998 Buick Regal - rear deck, exact fit factory replacement. These sound a lot better than I expected. They seem to really shine with Pop, Rock, and Metal, producing distortion free kick drum bass notes that vibrate the rear view mirror while maintaining a clean mid and high range sound stage. They do get a little muddy when driven really hard with bass heavy music (EDM, Rap, HipHop, etc), but that's not surprising and should be expected. Mine are paired with the matching Kicker 41DSC54 5.25" shallow mount speakers, being driven by a 50w max x4 head unit. It sounds better in the cabin than I could have expected. For the money, I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros: Good price Great sound Great frequency response / range

Cons: n/a

Kicker 41DSC6934 6"x9 into 2006 Chevy Cobalt Ls 2 Door

Written By Joe, Wisconsin on Sunday, September 21, 2014

Just installed these kicker speakers into my 06 Cobalt Ls. Overall, I am satisfied with the performance of the speakers. The Crutchfield site told me the speakers would fit, come to find out the holes do not match up properly. I am now stuck with 2 replacement screws for each speaker in place of the original screws. This is not the worst thing that could of happened, but it is an issue because they are not properly secured. My rate for this whole process is a 3 because they DO NOT FIT but my rating for these evenly priced speakers is a good 4 1/2 out of 5. It would be greatly appreciated if someone can take a few minutes to read this and possibly contact me an idea of how to go about this problem. Don't know if you can comment on my review or how that works but thanks for your time

Pros: Good sound/performance

Cons: Does not fit properly (06chevycobalt2door)

Crutchfield response on Tuesday, October 07, 2014 Our Tech Support Team reached out to Joe as soon as we saw his review. Occasionally, there are minor differences in screw hole patterns and sizes that can cause mounting issues. Our Tech guys will get more details from him and offer any advice they can. The worst case scenario is to drill a couple of new screw holes, but it might not come to that.

Love the sound! They replaced some broken down Infinity Kappa 6x9's. They are a perfect fit! I gave 5 stars because of the sound. Included mounting hardware deserves 0 stars.

Pros: Great bass and treble response. So not distort with my Alpine head unit.

Cons: Speaker mounting hardware was terrible. The spring steel breaks and ate the threads of the screws. I had to use to old mounting hardware from the Infinity set.

Great speakers, lousy fit

Written By 2 Many Cars, Edwardsville, IL on Thursday, August 21, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought for a 2004 Buick Century, according to Crutchfield they were a direct replacement for the factory speakers. They weren't. Only three of the mounting holes int the speaker lined up with the factory adapters. Three will work, but a fourth mounting point would have made me feel better about the purchase.

Pros: Sound great.

Cons: Not an exact fit.

Big upgrade from my old cheap factory camry speakers that were so bad the covers disintegrated.

Pros: Good sound for the money.

Cons: Had to make my own mounting stuff for my toyota camry. No big deal just cut out old speakers from frame and used it to install.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Couldn't use the Stock amp in my 02 Sunfire to get good sound out of these babies, because the amp has a built in cross over that only gives you tweeter or woofer sounds, but directly connected to the deck, they sound much better and perhaps amplified they will be amazing.

Pros: Great sound Great price Look amazing

Cons: Not a lot of bass (perhaps they need a back box) Wish they had separate wires to the speaker and tweeter

Good sound output for rear deck

Written By Anonymous, Hawaii on Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have these in the rear deck of my car. The sound quality is above average, with punchy mid bass and crisp highs. The speakers can handle around 90-100 watts, and this is the main reason I chose Kicker. Four-channel amps. nowadays can push over 100 RMS to speakers, so this pair works well and pleases the ears.

Pros: Quality design. Medium power handling, but can pushed and won't distort. Fits nicely in factory mount.

Cons: For a 6x9, the speakers should be able to handle more than 90 watts RMS.

They do "Kick"

Written By Jared, Seneca Falls, NY on Monday, July 28, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These kickers do "Kick" the bass, but do not have the solid loud deep bass that I was hoping for, So I ended up buying a subwoofer anyways. They are excellent for a start though. The tweeters in them make a HUGE difference for your mids and highs. They will kick out and hit you almost as hard as the bass would, both in which "hit" pretty hard.

Pros: Kicks the bass kicks the highs The tweeters really bring out the highs and lows better than something without a tweeter. They make it crisp and clean. Good for their value

Cons: There is SOME distortion at higher volumes (within 5-10 points of max volume), but it can be easily overlooked. Needs louder low end

This product was better than I expected for the low cost I paid. I was looking for speakers for my car at a low cost and bought these. When they arrived and I hooked them up to my car I was surprised at how nice they sounded.

Pros: Terrific bass, no static sound, very loud

Cons: None

Better Than Expected!

Written By sandman51, Hartselle, AL on Thursday, July 03, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these in my Son's 2008 Chevy Cobalt & they are a perfect fit! I am a big JL Audio fan, but these speakers took me by surprise! The mids & highs are very clear & the bass was better than expected for only being pushed by the factory head unit! I haven't purchased any Kicker products since the 80's, but I am very satisfied with these entry level speakers.

Pros: Nice blend of mids & highs with a little punch of bass to go with it. Easy to install in '08 Cobalt.

Cons: None!

Night & Day Difference

Written By ChrisH, Camden, SC on Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Glad I made the investment in these Kicker DSC693 6x9's. My system sounds great with the addition of these speakers along with my Kenwood Head Unit. My music sounds so much clear now and these Kickers delivery some pretty tight bass, something that those OEM speakers just weren't doing. As usual installation was easy and simple with all the great instructions and extras that Crutchfield provides. It was a little work just to get to the speakers, but I guess that's an Oldsmobile thing, but the MasterSheet made the install easy. Overall I'm very pleased with the Kicker DSC693 speakers, and now enjoy driving my car again.

Pros: Easy install, speakers sound great and deliver pretty tight bass.

Cons: None.
