Kicker 41DSC6934

Here's the Kicker

As if Kicker wasn't already stiff competition for any affordable car speaker, their DS-Series speakers once again raise the bar. In addition to providing excellent sound, these Kickers offer a thin profile that allows them to fit in more vehicles.

Solid sound

The 41DSC6934 6"x9" speakers will give you clarity like you've never had with your factory speakers. The 3-way design recreates a more dynamic sound by dedicating the highs to the PEI domed tweeters and the lows to the polypropylene woofer, while the 2" midrange driver delivers an extra dose of warmth and detail. The 41DSC6934's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios, but these speakers will handle up to 90 watts RMS if you decide to incorporate an external amp.

Highlights:

  • 3-way car speakers (pair)
  • 6"x9" polypropylene woofer cone and 2" midrange cone with ribbed polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI domed tweeter
  • power range: 2-90 watts RMS (360 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 30-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 92 dB
  • top-mount depth: 3-3/16"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles included
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

2005 Dodge Ram 2500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are not a drop-in installation into a third-generation Dodge Ram. The speaker frame is contoured differently, so door cutting is required. Fortunately, I asked for the Scosche 6X9 to 6.5 adapter plates. Cutting out the plate leaving ~1/2" around the edges allowed the speakers clearance to the door. Also, only two of the stock mounting holes work. I had to remove the metal clips on two diagonal holes and trim the corners to drill new holes. The Kicker holes are close, but not close enough.

Pros: The Scosche adapter plate and harness adapters facilitate the install.

Cons: These speakers are underwhelming in this application (2005 Ram). It's perhaps unfair to say it's the speakers when it may be the location or the factory head unit not bringing them up to full potential. They're louder, but there's no depth to the sound. I've seen mention of some foam surround for the back of the speaker, but the Crutchfield adviser didn't mention anything about such.

2000 Honda Accord
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers were listed as being direct replacements for the stock Honda rear deck speakers from a 2003 Accord Coupe, but that's not quite true. Once in place only two of the mounting bolts could be replaced in the original holes, with a third at a severe angle. The fourth wasn't even close. In addition, the trunk torsion bar rubbed against the magnet on the passenger side speaker, so back they went (which was a simple process with Crutchfield's RMA proces). Unfortunately I can't say anything about the sound quality of the speakers since they were never properly installed. Picked up a pair of Pioneer TS-A6966R speakers instead which went in without a hitch.

Installed in a '91 Buick Regal rear deck. Love the sound but the speaker was slightly wider than factory speakers and wouldn't go completely into the speaker box. I was only able to fit 2 screws in the speakers. Haven't decided on a solution yet mostly because I don't want to cut into the carpet on the deck.

Pros: good sound and easy to hook up.

Cons: too wide to fit completely into speaker enclosure.

2011 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I paired these up with the Kicker DSC674 in the doors. Even with the stock head unit (2011 Corolla S - Non JBL 6-speaker system) there is a noticeable increase in sound quality, volume, and even a little baby "thump" from the bass. Definitely worth the time and money though, when compared to the stock JUNK speakers. This was not a dramatic change at all so don't expect much with the stock HU. Did have to do some drilling to mount these and I used my own sheet metal screws instead of the clips that came with them (not a big fan at all of the clips). Total install time was 2 hours. I have a Kenwood DDX372BT on the way and will update this post later.

Pros: Decent price for decent speakers. Arrived on time as promised along with the Crutchfield supplied wiring harness and mounting instructions which were very helpful for the disassembly/reassembly of the vehicle plastics. Sound quality & volume is an improvement over stock speakers.

Cons: Had to drill and get a little creative for the install. Mounting instructions from Crutchfield give very little guidance on how to actually mount the speakers other than to say mount speakers using hardware that was supplied by manufacturer. But the holes do not line up so expect to do some drilling and troubleshooting.

Found these that fit, excellent price, super quick shipping, and all the extras that make install a breeze. I was looking for a set of 6x9's for my Blazer. Something durable but didn't want to sacrifice sound quality. And price being my major factor in choosing. I'll have to say that for the price these speakers are a solid choice. I'm very pleased with the sound & dynamic range. It seems to me that the more power you throw at these things, the better they sound!

Pros: Durable construction Sound quality Value for price

2008 Mercury Milan
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I really enjoyed these speakers! They are definitely worthy for the amount of money they cost. Since they are three-way co-axles they have a wide range of sound variety between the tweeters, mid-ranges and woofers. I installed these 6"x9" in my '08 Milan's rear deck and they are crystal clear, but they definitely don't provide as much bass as I would like. Although, there's not that much bass since there's only a woofer, they're still great speakers, that have high quality sound and are definitely worth all that you pay!

Pros: 3-way Crystal clear sound Great range Nice look Balanced Low cost

Cons: Bass is limited J-clips are crappy

Initially, I couldn't believe that the original speakers were 6X9, but they were. I was looking to replace the stock speakers since they were blown, and really just looking for a low priced speaker. I got way more than I bargined for. These speakers sound great!! The tweeters really handle the highs and overall these sound significantly better that the original speakers. I know that may sound kind of like a no brainer, but again, I was just looking for inexpensive and I got so much more. You will not be disappointed with these speakers.

WOW!!! These speakers are AMAZING!! I have a 1992 Buick Regal Custom, and the partially blown stock speakers were just atrocious. Purchased these bad boys for the rear deck and they SLAM with just the stock radio!!! Incredibly clear, too! Can't wait to get the aftermarket head unit put in... Fit in the Buick with some minor alterations made...by a drill.. much to my dismay, but returning is a huge pain in the butt, so I made them fit. 10/10 would definitely buy again! Wish I could somehow mount some more on the front dash, then I could have 4 of these. My car would ROCK! Make sure you are well aware of your cars mounting depths before purchasing as these things are MONSTERS

Pros: Incredible incredible bass! Still crystal clear sound while slamming, no distortion!

I bought these to replace the stock speakers in my 03 malibu, they work great. The only problem I have is these are "thicker", as in taller, than the stock speakers. And since GM cut the speaker holes in the rear deck "about" where the speakers are, they barely fit. I had to remove the plastic grill pieces that are in the rear deck, so that the speakers could pop through. Looks great though.

Pros: Great sound Good price

Cons: some modification required only two of four screw holes for mount line up to stock

Was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality of these 6×9's. No they are not some super high end speakers but for the cost they are amazing. Have very solid lows and can create some very nice clean highs with some eq tuning. A big step up from stock speakers. Would buy again....actually thinking of getting another set for the rear doors.

Pros: Solid sound nice range and solid bass.

Cons: None found yet.

I used these to replace the front door woofers in my 2008 Ram 1500. I know it voided the speaker warranty, but since the factory amp only puts bass into the front door speakers, I unscrewed the tweeter assembly, filled the through hole with epoxy, and installed dust caps where the tweeter assembly was. Nice difference over the factory speakers. Not more bass but deeper and clearer bass.

2006 Toyota Camry
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While replacing dry rotted speaker grills it seemed a shame to remove the rear deck & not replace the paper factory speakers while we were in there. I did minimal research just by checking for inexpensive, compatible speakers on Crutchfield's site. Since everything was "modified fit," I called the sales department for a recommendation. Based on the initial recommendation of these Kickers, I did a little more research by comparing similar priced speakers. I called again to ask why these over this other brand & the second salesperson had the same thoughts as the initial person. Since the mounting surface wasn't truly flush I used some weather stripping as a seating gasket, made a template, drilled the holes and had to buy different screws (or washers) to keep the heads from slipping thru the mounting holes in the speakers since we weren't using the speaker grilles. The sound is a vast improvement over the paper cones, though with out changing out all the speakers and/or adding an amp, the audio improvement is not overwhelming.

Pros: Great build quality and materials. Crutchfield's "master data sheet" & compatible speaker plug wires are a great help.

Cons: Seems like a small thing for a company like Crutchfield to produce a mounting adapter that would seat aftermarket speakers properly in the original hole using the original factory mount bolts.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

these speakers sound absolutely amazing. excellent bass response even at low volumes, crystal clear ( no exaggeration ) sound from mids and tweets, i hear things in my music that i haven't heard before, background sounds that were unnoticeable before are now evident and clear. I installed these in the front doors of my 2008 toyota tundra, they technically aren't supposed to fit, and normally they wouldn't, but if you have some ingenuity, the right tools, and the bravery to do a few modifications, you can make them work, and in my opinion a 6 1/2 round speaker can't come close to touching the sound quality of a 6x9. if you have a tundra and you want these, what you want to do is to cut the original paper skeaker out of the housing with a razor blade, cut the plastic reinforcement beams out of the back with a hot knife or other tool that will do the job without breaking the plastic, and use the original housing to mount the new speaker to. you will have to make some small brackets to secure the speaker to the housing and remove some of the honeycomb plastic material on the door panel where the speaker will sit as the new ones will stick out an additional 1/4 inch, but you will be extremely happy with the sound quality if you can accomplish installing these.

Pros: excellent sound, high power handling, crystal clear and excellent bass response, even at low volumes. excellent value.

If Speakers order are supposed to be compatible to replacement one figure that wiring would be in the equation not only size of speaker.

These are great for upgrading your factory speakers. They sound good with just your receiver powering them so you don't have to add an amp. However they can handle more power and sound even better if you want to add an amp. I added a 4 channel amp and have 175watts RMS going to each speaker and the sound is awesome! I Highly recommend these KICKER speakers if you looking for a lot of sound for not a lot of money.

Good bass that will fit any budget

Written by: B3 from Fort Mill, SC on April 8, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers deliver good bass at factory receiver power levels, just as my Crutchfield advisor said they would.

Pros: Softer than usual foam/rubber connects the speaker cone to the speaker frame. This promotes greater speaker cone movement at lower factory power levels. So, it doesn't take a lot of power to make the cone move, which makes the speaker produce good bass with the factory setup.

Cons: The only con to these speakers in my installation was the fact that the factory speakers they replaced were actually 2 ohm speakers. I was told that this would slightly lower the available power to them from the factory amplifier. I cannot help but wonder if these speakers were the same 2 ohm rating as the factory speakers, if you could tell a noticeable difference. No way to tell unless I take my car back apart and step up to some higher priced speakers, like the Infinity X Ref. or similar.

Sounds great, poor packing

Written by: nothanks from The Moon on April 4, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great speakers on paper. Unfortunately they are not packaged well and tend to break in shipping. If you manage to fix them they need foam surround on the back of the 6x9 driver's install surface or they tend to vibrate around horribly in stock interior trim. Good luck hearing all that bass over the rattles - but there is a TON of bass and crystal clear mids and highs to go with it. Kicker did a great job of tuning this driver and its capacitors on the highs - it is not pitchy at all. VERY flat and true response.

Works best with higher than average power head units like Kenwood or a aftermarket amplifier.

Pros: Not pitchy at all. VERY flat and true response. You probably won't bother with a subwoofer if you install these correctly - they hit very hard for their size if you want them to.

Cons: Poor packaging means potential but fixable damage. They are deeper than stock speakers so watch the mounting depth. They work with deck power but like far more power much better.

I just replaced my Chrysler 200 door speakers with the kicker 6 by 9's. I am not disappointed with the sound at all. I am running these off my factory radio and wow. I did not need to modify anything. No cutting like the they said I would have too. I just dropped them in and now enjoying better sound. I have 6 by 9's in the rear (sound ordinances) so everything sounds fine.

Pros: I am pleased with my speakers. Sounds wonderful.

For any Dodge Ram owner who doesn't have the factory 6x9's in the front doors already be sure to buy the factory speaker base(-Mopar factory Part # 56040860ac) from the dealer, mine only charged 7 bucks a piece and picked them up the next day. These are really nice speakers. When I got my truck I was very unimpressed by the stock sound I was getting. I finally replaced them with these and was so happy I went ahead and got the 6.5" version for the back doors as well. The highs and mids are good, and bass isn't bad. I had to turn the bass level up over stock but the sound is very good once I tuned it. (stock I kept the bass around -4, new speakers I have the bass at +1) They probably sound even better with more power, but I am happy with the way they sound with the stock head unit for now. The install was very simple and the magnets and quality of these speakers compared to stock is as noticeable as the sound difference. Massive difference over stock. I will upgrade the head unit next.

Pros: Much better over stock, sound and build quality

Cons: None for the price

1997 Ford Crown Victoria
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers replaced rear factory speakers in a 1997 Crown Victoria. I was skeptical that it would make a difference in sound quality. I was completely wrong. After I installed these I was listening to NPR news on the way to work and they had the normal background environment noises in the news piece. At one point I was startled because I thought a sound came from outside my car -- it was so real. Music quality was obviously great. It was so good I could not tell where the sharper highs and extra base were coming from. Do I skip replacing the front speakers because it sounds good already? Nope--I learned my lesson. It's definitely worth replacing factory speakers if you care at all about audio quality. Again, Crutchfield made it easy. Easy to buy, they included the adapter cables for free, installation hints were good, and they shipped it quickly.

Pros: Awesome sound quality. Easy replacement installation.

Cons: None.

Installed in 1998 Buick Regal - rear deck, exact fit factory replacement. These sound a lot better than I expected. They seem to really shine with Pop, Rock, and Metal, producing distortion free kick drum bass notes that vibrate the rear view mirror while maintaining a clean mid and high range sound stage. They do get a little muddy when driven really hard with bass heavy music (EDM, Rap, HipHop, etc), but that's not surprising and should be expected. Mine are paired with the matching Kicker 41DSC54 5.25" shallow mount speakers, being driven by a 50w max x4 head unit. It sounds better in the cabin than I could have expected. Kicker 41DSC6934 6"x9 into 2006 Chevy Cobalt Ls 2 Door

Written by: Joe from Wisconsin on September 21, 2014

Just installed these kicker speakers into my 06 Cobalt Ls. Overall, I am satisfied with the performance of the speakers. The Crutchfield site told me the speakers would fit, come to find out the holes do not match up properly. I am now stuck with 2 replacement screws for each speaker in place of the original screws. This is not the worst thing that could of happened, but it is an issue because they are not properly secured. My rate for this whole process is a 3 because they DO NOT FIT but my rating for these evenly priced speakers is a good 4 1/2 out of 5. It would be greatly appreciated if someone can take a few minutes to read this and possibly contact me an idea of how to go about this problem. Don't know if you can comment on my review or how that works but thanks for your time

Pros: Good sound/performance

Cons: Does not fit properly (06chevycobalt2door)

Crutchfield response on October 7, 2014 Our Tech Support Team reached out to Joe as soon as we saw his review. Occasionally, there are minor differences in screw hole patterns and sizes that can cause mounting issues. Our Tech guys will get more details from him and offer any advice they can. The worst case scenario is to drill a couple of new screw holes, but it might not come to that.

I have these in the rear deck of my car. The sound quality is above average, with punchy mid bass and crisp highs. The speakers can handle around 90-100 watts, and this is the main reason I chose Kicker. Four-channel amps. nowadays can push over 100 RMS to speakers, so this pair works well and pleases the ears.

Pros: Quality design. Medium power handling, but can pushed and won't distort. Fits nicely in factory mount.

Cons: For a 6x9, the speakers should be able to handle more than 90 watts RMS.

These kickers do "Kick" the bass, but do not have the solid loud deep bass that I was hoping for, So I ended up buying a subwoofer anyways. They are excellent for a start though. The tweeters in them make a HUGE difference for your mids and highs. They will kick out and hit you almost as hard as the bass would, both in which "hit" pretty hard.

Pros: Kicks the bass kicks the highs The tweeters really bring out the highs and lows better than something without a tweeter. They make it crisp and clean. Good for their value

Cons: There is SOME distortion at higher volumes (within 5-10 points of max volume), but it can be easily overlooked. Needs louder low end

I replaced the factory speakers with Kicker DSC693 speakers and kept the factory head unit. The sound was 10 times better than the factory set. Definitely would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a great bargain. 2006 Dodge Ram 1500.

2004 Oldsmobile Alero
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Glad I made the investment in these Kicker DSC693 6x9's. My system sounds great with the addition of these speakers along with my Kenwood Head Unit. My music sounds so much clear now and these Kickers delivery some pretty tight bass, something that those OEM speakers just weren't doing. As usual installation was easy and simple with all the great instructions and extras that Crutchfield provides. It was a little work just to get to the speakers, but I guess that's an Oldsmobile thing, but the MasterSheet made the install easy. Overall I'm very pleased with the Kicker DSC693 speakers, and now enjoy driving my car again.

Pros: Easy install, speakers sound great and deliver pretty tight bass.

Cons: None.

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker DS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for their rigidity and light weight. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

1/2" PEI Balanced-dome Tweeters: The 1/2" PEI balanced-dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with quick, detailed and spatially-correct imaging. PEI is an acronym for polyetherimide. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling.

2" Dome Midrange: The 2" PEI dome midrange provides a strong response in the critical midrange band where the majority of the vocals are located.

These speakers KICK @$$!!! well worth the money! [ WILLIAM  Mar 28, 2015 ]
The Bass is great they hit pretty hard for a 6x9 and the mid and twitter do there job also I am pushing them and kicker 6 3/4 in the front door with a 800 watt amp with the gain half way up without the speaker bottoming out I will tell you to buy them you won't be sorry! [ MICHAEL ANTHONY  Mar 27, 2015 ]
Depending on what stereo you have the Kicker will deliver a lot of bass. Now on the loudness. They deliver. My ears are still ringing. [ Christian  Mar 26, 2015 ]
They are entry level factory replacements. Decent for that purpose; but if you want bass you are looking at subs and separates. [ James  Mar 25, 2015 ]
I mounted mine as free air but either way would most likely work fine [ DARIN  Jun 12, 2014 ]
Haven't tried with baffles. If anything I was explained the baffles help to insulate the speaker from the elements. I newer vehicles this is something to worry less about. [ Carlo  Jun 09, 2014 ]
I use them in the rear deck of my 06 dodge stratus. it has a enclosure around the speakers. i wouldn't use a baffles that would reduce the base you got from the kickers i would think. [ MICHAEL ANTHONY  Jun 08, 2014 ]
Baffles. Designed as own replacements. [ James  Jun 08, 2014 ]
