Kicker 41DSC674

Here's the Kicker

As if Kicker wasn't already stiff competition for any affordable car speaker, their DS-Series speakers once again raise the bar. In addition to providing excellent sound, these Kickers offer a thin profile that allows them to fit in more vehicles.

Solid sound

The 41DSC674 6-3/4" speakers will give you clarity like you've never had with your factory speakers. The 2-way design recreates a dynamic sound, dedicating the highs to the PEI domed tweeter while sending the midrange and lows to the 6-3/4" polypropylene woofer. The 41DSC674's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios, so you can crank your tunes and keep 'em blasting the whole ride. Grilles included.

  • 2-way car speakers (pair)
  • 6-3/4" polypropylene woofer with ribbed polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI domed tweeter
  • power range: 2-60 watts RMS (240 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 40-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 90 dB
  • top-mount depth: 1-7/8"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles included
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your factory speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

great sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

What a difference, I installed these speakers with no problems at all. Definitely a big difference in sound. I can hear all sides know. The mounting brackets needed to be modified somewhat, but worked great. Also the wiring harnesses that came with the speakers were self-explanatory or just read the package and connect. All in all the speakers work fantastic huge improvement to the factory speakers and all the accessories that came with them fit great, and were also included free of charge. If not sure about what to buy just call and the people with the expertise and fantastic customer service, like Chip, will help you in any way that you need to help you make an informed decision about what you want to add or replace to your car system. I will buy again and recommend to others.

Pros: Great sound, easy install

Cons: Should have ordered sooner

Great speakers, crisp sound and decent bass. I have a 10 inch sub so I wanted a speaker with good sound. Install was simple I had to trim the brackets a bit but a hand saw worked perfectly. I have no audio back ground and install took about 3.5 hours.

Highly recommend !

Pros: Crisp sound Decent bass

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So i installed these speakers in the rear deck of my 2009 toyota camry, currently only recieving power from the stock head unit and complimenting the rockford p1675 i have in the front doors. At forst the install was a little sketchy since the 6.75" speaker was a bit smaller than the factory 6x9s. But in no way did that cause a loss of sound, i got them all plugged in a settled, told my brother to play a track to test it, and BOOM!, they were perfect right out of the box. Powerful shallow mount speakers for sure. I would recommend these to anyone of they want to run it of factory power. Im gonna be adding a new head unit and amp soon to see how far these will go

Pros: Quality is high as ever Magnet didnt interfere with anything

Cons: Mounting bracket kinda sucked since i had to drill new holes and widen the ones that actually lined up and snap off those little tabs in the brackets

Great Improvement over Stock

Written by: PaulM from Boston, MA on December 23, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for my 2010 Toyota Corolla LE with the stock head unit without JBL. I have a beautifully done wood grain application so I don't want to replace the stock radio. The improvement in the sound was incredible. The highs and lows are dramatically improved. The sound has a lot more detail. The muddy bass from the cheap paper speakers is replaced with a robust and enjoyable bass. I actually turned the treble down a notch. The installation wasn't too bad with the supplied instructions. I can hardly believe how much the sound has improved without changing the head unit. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: great improvement over stock without replacing the head unit. The bass is very impressive. The highs sing out. The detail in the music is great.

Cons: none

2011 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I paired these up with the Kicker DSC6934 in the rear deck. Even with the stock head unit (2011 Corolla S - Non JBL 6-speaker system) there is a noticeable increase in sound quality, volume, and even a little baby "thump" from the bass. Definitely worth the time and money though, when compared to the stock JUNK speakers. This was not a dramatic change at all so don't expect much with the stock HU. The Crutchfield supplied mounting brackets, wiring harnes, and instruction sheet were worth their weight in gold! Made the install quick and easy at 1hr 15min! I have a Kenwood DDX372BT on the way and will update this post later.

Pros: Decent sounding speaker at a decent price. Crutchfield recommend wiring harness, mounting brackets, and instruction sheet worked well and kept me from doing the searching. Just add the speakers to your Cart and boom, the install accessories are added as well with one click.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in my brand new 2016 Honda HR-V. I love the functionality of the stock HU with touch screen, backup and right lane cameras etc. but I HATED the sound. I installed these and now I can hear music on the highway with the windows down. Much louder and clearer than stock. I did couple this with an underseat sub-woofer so do not expect great bass from these alone. However the difference over stock is amazing.

Pros: Great sound, easy install, price

Cons: Nothing

2008 Chevrolet Cobalt
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were used to replace stock speakers in a 2008 cobalt coupe. The slight modification just requires the drilling of the mounting holes in the door which is really no big deal. The are a vast improvement over the stock door speakers providing much more clarity and crispness to the sound. As other reviewers have mentioned, the mounting hardware that come in the box with the speakers (cheap tab type things) are horrible for mounting. There are better clip style mounts available. Outside of the mounting hardware they put out great sound for the money.

Shipping only took 3 days to get to Nebraska. I installed the Kicker 41 DSC674 in the rear doors of a 2006 Xterra X The installation took about 30 minutes a door and I never installed speakers before.

Pros: Perfect fit, easy install with the Crutchfield 5.25 speaker spacers. Also get a pack of Crutchfield speaker wire connectors. I would recommend these speakers for the rear doors of a Xterra. Great sound compared to the stock speakers.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Took out my old, torn, rotted 6.75 inch g.m. stockers and replaced with these. At first it was just with the JVC head unit power chip and it totally woke up my sound. NOW I've got them amped with 40 r.m.s and even better. I don't always listen to pantera, but when I do, so do my neighbors!!! By the way, my JVC head unit also came from crutchfield, read my review.

Pros: Fit perfect in the extender spacer....the hole.

Cons: I did have to drill a few new pilot holes for a couple of screws but totally no biggie. That's usually the case anyway no matter what car but I like extra secure mounting, I crank!!

The Kicker 41DSC674 6-3/4" 2-Way Car Speakers are nice sounding! They produce good clean bass, clear crisp mids & highs. You just can't go wrong for the price for these car speakers compared to the high dollar component type car speakers. 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First of all, these speakers sound great for a 6 3/4". I didn't expect booming bass but it is very tight, and the mids and highs have great clarity and range. Can play pretty loud without distortion. My only gripe is not with the speakers but with the Metra bracket that was provided. It fits into the door without problems, but in my 2012 Hyundai Sonata, when the speaker is secured into the Metra ring and the Metra harness is screwed into the door, it becomes thicker than the original stock speaker bracket. When the door panel is put back into place, the extra thickness doesn't allow the panel to completely snap in flush with the door and there is a significant bulge. So when Crutchfield says this is a fit, IT IS NOT! The wiring harness is a perfect fit, but that's about it. I tossed the Metras and had to drill holes into the door and it just barely fit because there barely is enough plastic framing around the speaker hole to secure the Kickers. I tried to reuse the original Hyundai bracket but 6-3/4 is too big for it. It will only fit 6-1/2 speakers. This was a very frustrating install and it shouldn't have been if Crutchfield had been more accurate on the fitment.

Pros: Good Mids and Highs. Very efficient speaker. Bass is tight and not muddy but don't expect subwoofer type lows.

Cons: None with the Kickers. Not too pleased with Crutchfield's fitment accuracy.

2013 Kia Optima
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They have much better mids and highs but from all the reviews, I was expecting a little more bass! As I only replaced rear door speakers in my 2013 Kia K5 Optima, the front door (factory) still sound better than these Kickers, so I also have a Powered Punch 12" sub/amp combo (also available here) which I will install once the power connector arrives. Installing these took me less than 10 minutes for the pair...these are rated (i.e. Ohms/watts/rms are identical to the factory speakers removed) yet very little lows, it's moving enough air and I'm starting to think that the door is restricting the sound as it was beating hard when I had it outside the door to ensure that all worked prior to mounting. I'd recommend ONLY if you want more volume and not lows as they disappear when volume is turned almost 100% up, but overall can't beat the price for a good quality lower end stock replacement

Pros: Low wattage needed, most plug and play with the best feature being the price and crisp highs

Cons: Lows/bass disappear when turned up

VERY nice price and SO MUCH better than ANY factory speaker... or any other aftermarket 6.75 I have ever replaced! I have never been a big fan of Kicker, but have been a loyal Crutchfield buyer for over 20 years. They steered me to buying Kicker replacements and they were on the money with that encouragement! I will be more apt to buying Kicker products in the future. These are just so clear and add more bass than you might expect for such a small speaker. I have them powered by a Kicker 4x50 watt amp (installed by the dealership). The car ROCKS!!

Pros: ease of replacement and all the necessary hardware in the box. GREAT value in the price point!!

Cons: Make sure you seal all metal to plastic and vented areas because these hit hard and will find any rattles you may have.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Always a fan of Kicker speakers ; best bang for the buck out there. I bought these for the rear doors of a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee; hoping to unscrew the factory ones, and install these in their place. The pre-drilled holes in the speaker casing did not align (at all) with the factory set-up. Could not use any of the supplied Kicker hardware to attach them either. Had to carefully center the new speaker on the door opening and drill new holes; then attach with locktite wetted sheet metal screws. Also beware of the freebie speaker wire connectors that connect with the factory wiring; the polarity is reversed.

Pros: Great Kicker sound and quality. Very nice speaker.

Cons: Did not fit the factory opening. Had to drill out a new set of holes.

2014 Chevrolet Cruze
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced factory speakers on a 2014 Chevy Cruze. I sweated out how complicated a process this would be - not something I take on every day! Between the Crutchfield instructions and info online and on Youtube, it did relieve the stress. Once I got the hang of it, process moved along fairly well. Mounting brackets I believe were adaptable for speakers from 5 1/2 to 6 3/4 ", and you have to remove tabs from these brackets to make the 6 3/4 to fit - not immediately clear in the instructions to me. Crutchfield's phone support was great to walk me through that bump in the installation. I installed 4 front and rear speakers. It is now a week and a half later and I really enjoy the full range balanced clarity of these speakers. In terms of others commenting on lack of bass, that's kinda true, these aren't thumping sub-woofers, but from blue grass to hip hop, if there is a strong bass to the music, you'll get some bounce from these. Great speakers for the money.

Pros: Value, clear sound quality on all audio levels from highs to lows

2009 Chevrolet Tahoe
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Change out my stock speakers on my 2009 Chevy Tahoe with two pairs of these kickers, had a little modification to do because Crutchfield instruction downloaded was for a 2007, similar but missed a few steps like the wire harness plugs which I figured out eventually, these speakers sound very clean and crisp, not much bass but just enough to vibrate my door mirrors, this is where sound deadening comes in, hey I'm happy with my purchase plus I got a pair of Cush over the ears headphones, part of a deal Kicker was running at the time of purchase...

Pros: Exact fitment, easy install with Crutchfield brackets and wire harness... I hard a hard time choosing different brands but I think I chose the right one..

Cons: none I could think of except it was raining on and off, took longer to install...

2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for replacement speakers for my Bose equipped truck to replace all of them ( one of the stock ones had started going fuzzy). I first installed the two in the rear, of which the stock ones never sounded that great.... And then compared them to the front which I always thought sounded pretty good for factory speakers. And I was amazed how bad the Bose speakers actually sounded! Now all 4 are in and I actually enjoy listening to music again in that truck. And by the way my older pickup ( my toy/project truck) has a full component/individual amps system installed; I never thought I'd get even close to this level of clarity out of replacement speakers and stock electronics.

Pros: Straight forward install, screwed in right in place of old units ( albeit new holes)

Cons: For the price..... Not really.

I purchased these speakers based on the other positive reviews. The install instructions were very clear and easy to follow. These speakers are far better than the factory speakers. Very clean sound and at high volumes. I have them running off of a Pioneer after market 50x4 head unit. They made such a difference I am now changing the front door and tweeters with Kickers as well.

Pros: Very clear, don't distort at high volumes. Good quality and great price.

Cons: Can't find any at this point

Easy installation no brackets or modifications needed, although I did cut out holes in my back deck (was recarpeting it anyways) and used the included Kicker grills... Excellent BASS for the speaker.. just running off of my Kenwood KDC-X598 (22 Watt RMS) and for the front speakers I'm using Kenwood Kfc-P709Ps, was originally planning on putting a 4 channel amp on them and now I don't think I need one.. although I haven't hooked up a sub yet so that might change.. Highly recommend these for a budget minded install!! Would definitely purchase again. Defintely need to have either an aftermarket HU or external AMP to power these properly.

Pros: Perfect fit into my rear deck, excellent sound, awesome bass...

Cons: NONE

1995 GMC Safari
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This review is solely based on someone who needs to replace 3 blown speakers out of 6 factory speakers on a 1995 GMC Safari van, and is on a budget. The van is already equipped with a JVC deck when I bought it and the specs of the JVC deck is 50W per channel.

Since these 6-3/4" are slightly larger than the stock ones, which Crutchfield DID mentioned, on the dash installation, you need to dremel a groove on the enclosure towards the windshield to let these bigger speakers to slide in. Once done, you can use the original mounting hardware. These speakers do sound much better than the stock unlike the 4" Kicker 40CS44 pillar ones which IMHO are just ever so slightly better. It could be due to the fact that I "upsized" them.

On the rear door installation, you do not need to remove the whole door panels as per the Crutchfield provided removal/installation instructions IF your Safari is a passenger van as opposed to a cargo van. Just pry the plastic speaker grilled covers, good to go! Also, the stock speakers are popped riveted so I had to drill them out. I relocated 3 self tapping screws per rear speakers as I do not have a pop rivet tool with me. Just be very careful not to damage the speakers by slipping your drill and puncture them.

On a full 6 Kicker speakers configuration, now I can hear bass notes (it's a torture when they play RHCP on the radio and you wonder where is Flea) and my favourite bassist on power metal. Pleased with this DIY fix and everything shipped at $170.

Pros: Adapting connectors and instruction sheet provided. Crutchfield noted these need modifications and it's not really a big effort if you have a dremel and hand drill. A vacuum is great so you can "clean as you go". Priced great. 1995 GMC Safari van now sounds like my 2010 Toyota Corolla stock setup as a comparison.

Cons: No cons for my experience. These work for me as I'm not an ICE chaser and on a budget.

Installing was not bad after following their instructions with order. Love the sound! Now may replace the rear door speakers!

Pros: Great clear sound. I am not a window rattler listener but the volume can be cranked up and the Kicker speakers stay clear!

Replaced all 4 door speakers with a Kicker 41DSC674 speaker. I had never replaced any speakers before and the only instructions I received were the ones that came from the manufacturer which were somewhat sparse in helpful information. Despite this, I was able to install the speakers and get them working. The sound quality was more than adequate as the previous speakers were 12 year old OEM units. Had there been better instructions, I would've given the experience 5 stars instead of 4.

Pros: Great sound for the cost.

Cons: The supplied instructions from Kicker provided very little installation info that was useful.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers were purchased as replacement speakers in the door of a 95 Celica. I had only heard that Kicker speakers were considered a good speaker. I had no experience with them or even heard how they sounded. I jus went on recommendation from Crutchfield and word of mouth. I didn't want to spend a lot on speakers since it was just to replace the factory ones in my son's first car. The originals were completely blown out. The replacement was a little bit of a challenge since Crutchfield claimed that they fit. They are not the same size as the originals so I needed to create a modification ring. It was suggested by a Cruchfield rep to try making something from some MDH board. I was able to do that without too much stress. Once I had the speakers in and turned the radio on, I was totally impressed with the sound. These are really a great speaker for the price. Glad I purchased them and would recommend to anyone looking for a replacement speaker.

Pros: Sound!

Cons: Nothing with the product. Only complaint is that Crutchfield doesn't have it right that these speakers are a like for like replacement.

I replaced all four door speakers in my 2007 Chevy Silverado. Pretty easy installation. Good sound. I think these speakers are similar to the factory speakers, maybe a little better. Excellent website that shows which speakers are compatible with my truck.

Pros: Great customer service. Pretty good sound for the price.

Cons: Customer service rep could not explain how to use the mounting bracket clips, so I installed the speakers without the clips. Mounting brackets seemed like they needed a little longer screws, and CS rep said that one or two treads would be fine. Hopefully the speakers do not fall out. A few of the directions did not have the correct steps or pictures, so I had to improvise.

I bought my car about a year ago and finally got around to replacing the crappy blown out stock speakers. The difference was immediate and indisputable, these speakers kick so much harder and have really impressive high-frequency clarity, especially for the price. The install was easy, I just followed the directions crutchfield gave me. The bass is good, (not 2 12" subs good, but good) and the highs are quite clear. Every once in a while I find myself listening to church choirs and where my old speakers would distort and hiss, these speaker just sing it out loud and proud.

Great value, I highly recommend.

These speakers are great if you are on a budget like I am. They handle the mid to high range beautifully and have a very clear crisp sound in this range. It does fall a little short in the lows however. Now I realize that they aren't super high end performance speakers and I didn't expect them to perform like one's but they don't bring out the lower tones as much as I had hoped. They fall a little short when it come to the bass tones but if your installing an amp and sub like I am they will do great. Overall 4 stars but great speakers regardless of the limit of the range.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these baby's in a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and once I figured out they didn't fit as advertised, I had to cut out the factory speakers from their mounting brackets, and reuse the mounting brackets again to mount these new speakers. Once I got them mounted and hooked up, the sound that followed was music to my ears! I am currently running them off of a newer aftermarket head unit with 20 watts RMS. It sounds very good, with pretty good bass with music that has it in the track. Highs, as expected, are clear and not to bright, but adequately balanced. It has improved sound greatly from the stock paper speakers. On sale these cant really be beat. I've never had Kicker speakers before ,so I don't have that to compare to, but for basic replacement speakers, I would definitely recommend these. I like high definition sound, and these improved it greatly.

Great Sound - Surprised!!

Written by: Geoff from Jacksonville, FL on June 2, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fairly simple 'bolt in' with the use of the Toyota wiring adapter plugs to mate the factory installed wiring harness to the speaker itself. Installation of speaker to factory speaker bracket allowed only 3 of the 4 possible speaker mounting holes to be used, and then only two of the four lined up to provide excellent 'bite' into the bracket. Not sure I'm comfortable with this arrangement but I used 3-M double backed tape on the speaker frame for additional adhesion / affixing. Shouldn't be a problem but still - I thought they'd attach more securely. Great sound from this (front) with the addition of the 3 1/2 speakers in the rear doors. I thought it would be too small to replace the factory JBL 7-speaker system (front dash tweeters, 4-door mounted speakers, separate sub-woofer in rear deck) - but I was wrong. These speakers sound MUCH better and the separation of sounds, balance (front-rear / left-right) is outstanding. Excellent Bass Response with fantastic highs & mid-range sound.

Pros: Easy install - sounds great Provided wiring harness adulator makes it a 'plug & play' installation without soldering / crimping wires.

Cons: Less than original number of attachments to secure speaker to the door.

Depends what you mean by combine. Daisy chaining to and existing speaker is NOT good. If you can expand on what you plan to do exactly I may be able to expand my answer. [ nick w  Apr 08, 2015 ]
Marty, I have these speakers hooked to a Fosgate 4 x 75 RMS amp and they sound great with the crossover set to play only mids and highs (they are 2-way speakers so not designed for bass). I set my gain to 9 and they handle the power great. If not running subs or 3-way speakers in another location in vehicle would recommend 3-way speakers to get you best over all sound and some bass.
