Q
Are the kicker kst25 tweeters a good factory replacement for a trailblazer with a bose system?

A
Great question Ricky. The Chevy Trailblazers use (6 1/2) component speakers (mid-woofer, crossover, and tweeters). These would make a great replacement but i would advise to also replace the 6 1/2 woofer and eliminate the crossover. If you just want to replace the tweeters, disconnect the inline base blockers and connect to the existing crossovers.

Q
Where is the best place to mount tweeters on my 2011 Honda Pilot with 7 speaker/no navigation set up?

Either on the upper part of the door panels or somewhere on the A pillars. You want the sound waves coming from tweeters to have an unobstructed path to go through the passenger compartment.

I installed these in my 2007 F150, just a few weeks ago. My wife actually drives a 2011 Honda Pilot, so I was able to check it out, hands on. I believe the best place to mount the tweeters would be in the front doors, in the panel, directly above the factory speakers. This way you can wire them up, to the factory door speaker harness, and there will be plenty of room to tuck the inline crossover, behind the door panel. You will have to drill a hole, to accept the tweeter, as there is no factory provision for one. I would use a hole saw, in the diameter, just smaller than the tweeters, so the trim ring will sit on top of the panel. The Kickers come with multiple mounting options. You will actually be able to push in the tweeters, and use the mounting rings, on the back side, behind the panel. The rings will actually screw on to the tweeters, tightening them up and providing a secure and rattle free fit. I hope this helps, and good luck with your installation!

If you already have separate tweeter's in your Honda I would remove the old tweeters and install the new ones in there place. I have a 2013 VW Sportwagan and that is what I did. Hope this helps.

Q
Most wiring instructions don't show wires for tweeters?

Depends how technical you wish to be the correct way is to find the ohms of your speakers out running tweeters parallel with then so they match your output ohm. But most systems will work without all that. Just run them parallel making sure +to+ -to-. mine work great I have them in 2 different cars with amps.

Hi, Dwayne, Component tweeters get wired in parallel with the woofer. For these tweeters that come with an inline high pass crossover, the wiring from your amp should split from the woofer to the in-line crossover for the tweeters, then to the tweeter. The wire you need to connect them comes with the tweeters. A package of Posi-Products Wire Connectors will make the installation a breeze. The "Tap It" tap connectors for 16- to 18-gauge wire allow you to tap into wire without cutting or stripping. Hope that helps. George

What I did was just tap a wire off your front speakers to the tweeters. If you have a powerful enough amp with the right wire you will be fine
kyle  Jul 27, 2015

They are wired in parallel with the midrange speaker, usually with a capacitor to block the low freq. BYW, these are best speakers ever! I have them in 3 of my cars and love them!

That is because most of the time the tweeters are piggy backed off of the othe speakers. You will find that in most factory applications the door speaker wiring harness that plugs into the speaker has a split on it running to the plug for the tweeter, my girlfriends toyota avalon is wired like this. I actually havent wired the tweeters into her car yet, as it only needed new door speakers, the tweeters actually were an add on i did that got me a free pair of kicker headphones, which rock by the way!! You could also wire the tweeters from an amplifier if you feel the need but usually thats not necessary because of the small amount of power they draw compared to say a 4 inch door speaker. If you dont have tweeter wiring from factory you can just run a wire from the back of the speaker to the tweeter in series and you should be ok in doing so Hope this helps you!!! Have fun!!!
