Slim fit

KSC65

The 41KSC654 features a slim design, making it a perfect fit in more cars.

These KS Series speakers are some of the most installation-friendly Kicker speakers yet. These low-profile speakers feature a reduced mounting depth, making them a match for almost any car. And the refined, black grilles included with the package allow you to do a custom installation that'll knock people out.

Pump up the volume

While the low profile is an elegant asset, you'll find the real beauty of Kicker's KS Series speakers inside. The 41KSC654's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios. So, you'll be able to enjoy every bit of their natural sound, starting with a full midbass and midrange experience from the 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer and its powerful magnet. You'll also hear subtle vocal and instrumental details from the silk dome tweeter, giving your music a dimension that factory speakers just can't manage.

Highlights:

  • 2-way car speakers (pair)
  • 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer cone with rubber surround
  • 3/4" silk dome tweeter
  • power range: 2-100 watts RMS (200 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 43-21,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 90 dB
  • top-mount depth: 1-13/16"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles included
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Excellent speakers!!!! Been in business for 15 years

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are a very good all around speaker. 100 RMS and take every bit of my pioneer gm-8604. Rated at 100 watts rms per channel at 4 ohms. CEA compliant amplifier also. Haven't quite got them broken in yet. The highs are crisp and sleek. Not too bright, not too dull. Vocals blend well with the nice 6.5 woofer. Amazing mids. Cut off frequency I'm running is 125 Hz. They would probably handle 100 if you want more bass, but wouldn't go any lower than that, if your pushing the full 100 watts to them. My setup is infinity 6020cs 6.5 components in front, these kickers in rear panel and a Rockford p3d2-12 in the trunk. Both running off of Pioneer certified amps. 800 RMS to the sub and 100 RMS to each vocal speaker. Overall these speaker complete my sound system. If you looking for bass in these you won't find it. Generally Most 6.5 speakers should take a lot of bass, that is what subs are for. These are inexpensive and are better than the infinity 6.5 and Polk audio 6.5 coaxials I had previously. The other speakers weren't blown or anything just didn't give me quite the clear smooth sound I needed.

Pros: Great clarity Handle 100 RMS No distortion, used DD-1 meters to set gains and frequencies

Cons: None

2011 Honda Civic EX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They replaced the door and rear deck stock speakers in my 2011 Honda civic EX coupe. The highs are clear and distortion free. The mid-bass is GONE however. Not much low-bass at all. The vocals are clear as ever. Overall, I'm not pleased with these speakers. If my car didn't have a factory subwoofer, I'd pull them out and return them. I've lost over 50% of my mid-low bass.

Pros: Good price, clear sounding and great highs and vocals. Volume maxed out now yet crystal clear. Same size as stock yet cones are smaller than the OEM speakers.

Cons: Mid and low bass are missing with these speakers. My stock speakers performed better in the bass area than these.

Not Too Impressive

2000 Jeep Wrangler
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Same as the 5.25 I bought - Not super impressive - these were recommended by a Crutchfield chat team member as a very good speaker and I wish I would have went with my gut instinct and bought Polk or Pioneer. I had a $200 budget for 4 speakers. I installed in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler replacing 2 front stock speakers with a new aftermarket Pioneer deck I bought. To me they sound "tinny" and can't handle much volume and when there is any bass they make a cheap speaker thumping sound. Have to really tweak the settings on the deck to get any decent sound out of them, have to keep adjusting for different types of music because they can't handle the mid or bass of some songs - mid range sounds like you are in a tunnel. I've had cheaper speakers that sound better that this without an amp. Might be partially due to the acoustics in my 15 year old jeep, guess I'll deal with them.

Pros: They fit, and work??? Crutchfield forgot to add my "free" adapter - I sent them an email and they sent me one out right away so that was cool. I had already wired them in myself though, didn't feel like waiting.

Cons: Metal Sounding, Can't handle bass, Mediocre mids and highs.

Speakers good, install advice bad

Written by: GL from Virginia on July 11, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in the front doors of my Camry, powered by a new 18 watt Pioneer head, as per the supplied installation bracket. Bass output was terrible compared to factory speakers. I spoke with Crutchfield support who advised that an external amp would be the solution, since the RMS power handling capacity of these speakers was higher than the factor speakers. This is a nonsensical answer, as in fact speaker sensitivity is the relevant specification, not power handling capacity, and these Kickers have fairly high sensitivity of 90 db. I noted that the installation using the brackets was very leaky - lot of air gaps between the speaker, the bracket, and the car door - and that it was very floppy - the speaker frame was vibrating significantly as it attempt to put out sound. I determined that it was possible to attach the speaker directly to the door, making it much more solid, and with a decent air seal. The bass response improved tremendously. Attempting to just pump more power into the leaky and floppy installation would not have solved the problem. The moral of the story is that - A) achieving a solid and somewhat air tight installation is important, and is difficult to do using the (sometimes) unnecessary bracket, B) beware of superficial ill-informed tech support that wants you to spend more money.

I used these 6.5 Kicker speakers in the front doors of a vintage 70's party van. The RMS was perfect for the amp I'm using and I couldn't be anymore pleased with their performance. Clean, crisp and surprising thump and remain stable at higher volume levels.

Pros: Easy installation. Impressive sound. Very tasteful, quality metal grilles.

2001 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After reading a lot of positive reviews for these speakers, as well as speaking to Crutchfield associates, I decided to pick these up for my first install on my 2001 Corolla. First off, the shipping. The shipping was absolutely lightning fast. Living in Florida, the speakers were delivered in just over 48 hours after I purchased them. Extremely pleased with that. For the speaker, these things are very high quality. The rubber surround & polypropylene cone make for a very well-built and durable speaker. They're very aesthetically pleasing, despite living their whole lives inside of a door panel. This being my first install, I ran into some problems. I did have to drill new holes in my door, which wasn't really an issue, the brackets that came with the speakers has screw holes too small for my factory ones. After switching them around and adjusting their placement, they sound great. Make sure they're installed as centered as possible for maximum sound and bass quality. Running off only a Sony head unit giving 17W RMS across 4 channels, these things can scream. Highs to send chills down your spine and a smile of satisfaction to your face, with decent lows as well. Hopefully once I break them in a bit they'll start to open up more. Bought another pair of 6-3/4" for my rear deck, and going to install those as well. Can't wait to slap an amp onto these bad boys. If you have the money, do these speakers justice and get an amp. At 100W RMS, these things have a lot of potential!

Pros: Good range, very crisp, allows you to hear fidelity you could never achieve with stock speakers

Cons: Installation is a bit tricky. Even with the instructions given to me custom-tailored to my car, I still had to get help from others. Besides that, no issues with the speakers. Yet.

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

With this install price was definitely a factor. And I don't ever like to cheap out when it comes to my music. But for my girlfriends 07 Grand Cherokee I stuck to a "budget build". I went with a 6.5" round speaker for the front door to replace the 6x9. It gave it a whole new sound. And I was able to angle the front speakers toward the seats for more sound. Great clarity and no distorion. I Would deffinately buy these for another install.

Speakers are a significant upgrade from the stock speakers I replaced in my Subaru Forester. This was my first speaker install which was pretty easy using Crutchfield's instructions. The only issue was that I used the recommended speaker baffles which could have benefitted from longer screws.

Pros: Great sound, easy install.

Cons: Speaker screws could have been longer when installing with speaker baffles.

These speakers have great highs and better than average mids. Lows leave a little to be desired but they still handle them well. If your coming from a factory setup your going to be very pleased. If you have had other higher class speakers these will be on par or just below what you expected.

Pros: Very clear highs Quality build

Cons: low range is to be desired A tad over priced

2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My newly aquired 2006 Silverado truck had a buzzy right fron door speaker. It was the woofer/mid, the tweeter seemed OK. Replaced with the Kicker pair which has a built in tweeter so I did not re-connect the original tweeter. Installation was relatively easy even with a slight change with using the adaptor. Sound way better than factory setup and satisfactory for the money. Are there better speakers? Sure, but for the money spent you can't go too wrong. If you want deeper bass, more volume I think you need a new and better head unit.

Pros: Decent mid and fairly clear highs.

Cons: Bass could be tighter and deeper, but they may be more of the amp function.

2001 Dodge Ram
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers for my 2001 dodge ram 1500, although they are not designed to fit, I modified them to. It only took 10 minuets to hook them in because they came with a quick connect that was really easy to install. They have a nice sound too them, But I have to set my Bass to 0 to get them loud, if I don't they pop at higher volume. I'm kinda disapointed for what I spent for them, But I can buy better ones and put these in the back doors. Overall, good sound, But if you want descent Bass speakers, Buy something else.

Pros: Clean sound, easy instaltion

Cons: no bass

Not for Jeep

Written by: Scott from Lees Summit on August 11, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler to install in the sound bar. It says they fit this year and make. After adding them to the cart I see I get a free bracket and connectors with my purchase. Long story short... they don't fit. Brackets didn't help either. If the speakers are listed as fitting my vehicle, why do I need extra brackets to make them fit. I spent about 2 hours on a 30 min job trying to make this work. I tried these speakers in my 2014 and 2013 jeep. Both are the same but I decided the Infinity speakers in the 2014 sounded much better. I put them in the 2013 jeep, replacing the factory speakers. The factory speakers are 6.5. These are not 6.5 like it says on the box. Probably 5.75 or 5.5. I would say don't waste your time. These sound the same as the factory speakers. I would have returned these but it would cost more time and money to return $100 speakers.

Pros: None

Cons: Sound like factory speakers and not the size listed on box.

Crutchfield response on August 13, 2014 Our Tech Support team reached out to the customer for more information. According to our database, these speakers should indeed fit in his sound bar, so if it turns out that they don't, we really do want to know about it. Speaker size does not really refer to the size of the cone, but just what application the speaker is designed to fit. Actual cone size varies by manufacturer and speaker line. And as for returning the speakers, if they don't fit as promised, then we'll waive the return shipping fee and refund the full price of the speakers. That's our standard, no-hassle, 60-day return policy..
