Kicker 43DC122 Dual 12" Vented Loaded Enclosure

Kicker designed this side port to enhance bass response without adding noise.

Seriously sturdy construction

Each Comp 12" sub features a stiff injection-molded polypropylene cone with a double-stitched ribbed foam surround for deep excursion. Kicker's back-braced cone design keeps each woofer rigid and stable during those hard hits, while the perimeter venting system helps cool the sub's internal parts during demanding performances. A strong steel basket provides a stable foundation that won't flex during hard use.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy 3/4" medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the generous side port provides more boom for your buck. You'll get hassle-free connection to your amp with the single set of speaker terminals, while the 2-ohm overall impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

Product Research

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43DC122 enclosure uses two 12" Comp series subwoofers.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker Comp speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Q
do this fin in a 1995 ford f150 f-series?
deacon  Aug 28, 2023

A
This will depend on the cab size of your truck and whether or not you need seating for passengers. The dimensions for this enclosure are 32-7/16"W x 16"H x 17-1/4"D1 x 13-7/8"D2. It may be worth checking available space with a measuring tape.

I have no idea. I have an SUV. Try Google or maybe you could measure your car, the dimensions are in the description.

Which direction in the trunk of a car work best. Rear facing or front facing?

I was told by a professional car audio installer that rear facing is sounds better due to a longer sound wave. I have tried it both ways, and rear facing does sound better. Besides, it looks as good as it sounds!

I have mine rear facing. I have a 4runner and it seems to let the base resonate a lot better. I paired it with a kicker cxa300.1 and I'm really surprised how much base 300 watts will make. It is really loud and seems pretty clear.
hollis  Jul 11, 2020

Honestly, I have a hatch (Acura rsx) so it's not and enclosed trunk area and I feel the bass hits much harder facing rear. It depends on you try both ways out if you have a box easily movable.
