I wanted a set of speakers that would enhance my factory radio in my 2010 Silverado. My factory speakers were not blown, I just wanted something with a little more "umph". I did an online chat with Crutchfield and these speakers are what they recommended over some of the more expensive models. They discussed things I am not familiar with such as hertz, frequency range, etc. Crutchfield boasts themselves as professionals and hence I took what they said as solid advice and made the purchase thinking I just saved myself some money if what Crutchfield said is true. A better speaker for less! Well.....not so much. I took the time to remove my seat belts, remove the trucks plastic, drilled 4 new holes to mount them, they fit just fine, put everything back together, then turned the stereo on. On low 20% power they sound equivalent to or have maybe a hint more of a high end "tinny" sound. At 50% power, the bass is more like a popping sound, not distorted, but definitely not "BASS". Anything over 50% power is well ... just a waste... they cannot handle it. Again, this is a factory head unit, no super power here. Ok, so overall, if you have a set of blown speakers these will make an awesome replacement and nobody ever has to know what's in there as they fit nicely. If your looking for a nice sound / bass upgrade, like I was, these are not it. I cannot say for sure if the higher priced, higher end speakers are any better, as I have no intention of ripping these out.
Pros: Nice fit, relatively easy install, A great replacement speaker, but not an upgrade to the factory. Crutchfield provided speaker wire adapters so that no cutting of the factory wires had to be done. (very nice touch). Install instructions were also very nice to have. (Go Crutchfield!)
Cons: No real audible improvement over factory speakers, just an ok, factory equivalent replacement.
