Upgrading the old factory speakers in your car will give you a huge bump in sound quality, and Kicker designed CS Series speakers to get your sound system rockin' without breaking the bank. You'll enjoy your music even more when you hear all the details that your muddy-sounding factory speakers couldn't begin to reproduce.
Kicker's 40CS54 speaker set provides low-end from a tough 5-1/4" polypropylene woofer, with a polyester foam surround that will stay strong for years to come. The 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter takes care of the vocal and instrumental details that'll really bring your music to life. These speakers sound great powered by a factory radio or an aftermarket car stereo, and they'll really rock when connected to an external amplifier. Grilles are included.

These things are great! So clear and crisp
These speakers are a VAST improvement over the old factory speakers. I'd reccommend these to anyone wanting a nice upgrade.
Easy install, and they sound great. Not tons of bass, but more than expected from a speaker of this size. Install using kit and harness adaptor was a breeze. Great value.
Pros: Clean sound. Easy install.
Cons: A little light on bass, but that's not unexpected.
Good value speakers. Replaced 2 factory speakers in sound pods and 2 component sets in front dash corners. Sound is no longer"muddy" and can also achieve higher volume before distorting. I'm running a Pioneer head unit with no amp and am pleased with the sound. Other reviewers have complained about the lack of bass. These are 5.25" mids and tweeters, not 10" subs. Having said that, they still are capable of a decent amount of bass if you tweak your settings correctly. I do have the factory sub setup in the center console with its small 75w amp, but the Kickers with the sub bypassed still produced a satisfactory amount of low end when cruising with doors and windows out.
Pros: Easy install Good clarity Excellent value
These 5.25 coaxial speakers are pretty good, they sound only slightly better than the stock bose speakers I replaced them with. The lower end, in fact is much muddier than the stock speakers, the highs on the other end are definitely brighter as the stock speakers have no tweeters. To be fair, these are slightly smaller than my stock speakers and I am running off my head unit(pioneer AVH-X5800BHS). Part of my step upgrade plan. Front stage is next along with an amp. What I did to compensate for the bottoming out is this; I moved the fader slightly more to the rear(where these kickers are), set the rear high pass at a 160 hertz cutoff with a maximum slope(-24db) and set the front(stock no tweeters) to cut at a much lower frequency with a lesser slope(-12db), for now this seems to put the overall soundstage at a satisfactory setting. I guess i was expecting a miracle in sound transformation after dreaming of replacing the rear for so long. Keep in mind that these are moderately priced speakers, that being said, the value of these speakers make it a welcome addition. My final thought; if budget is a concern, and you understand maximizing your sound stage as well as the limitations of size(5.25 can not move a lot of air) than these speakers should fit the bill. If you just need a brighter upgrade to stock these are perfect.
Pros: Easy install, much brighter than stock, will almost fit anywhere, 75 rms and a decent price.
Cons: limited lower end performance(5.25 and polypropylene), bottoms out at about 160 or lower unamplified.
Great upgrade from stock
I absolutely loved these speakers. Bought to replace the old factory Bose speakers that just completely stopped working on me one day. First time doing my own door speakers, so I was a litter nervous about install. The box came with its own grey wires that you could solder for better speaker connections but I used the clip wires that came with them. When I got the first speaker in, I was completely blown away by the sound quality that these little speakers could push! Looking for rear deck speakers now. Definitely a great buy!
Pros: -Sounds great! -Easy Install! -Fast & free shipping
Decided to replace factory speakers and I'm so glad I did these are a great upgrade over factory and sound great with amp on them was scared to even hook amp on til now glad I made the upgrade now words are clean and clear even at higher volume
They sound great. Really crisp sound and the bass is good too. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great sound Good price
good sounding & quality speaker, easy install, with the wires & mounting kit that Crutchfield supplies.
Pros: good sounding speakers for the price
I installed these in just a matter of minutes. They came with the adapter plate and all screws and clips necessary. Also had wiring connections. Everything fit right in making for a seamless and fast install. They sound great!
Pros: easy install quality look adapters
Muy fácil de instalar ningún problema Very easy to install no problems.
Pros: Cabe perfectamente el kit de instalación perfecto lo recomiendo ?? Very easy to install no problems.
Cons: N/ACrutchfield response on May 24, 2016 Translation provided by Crutchfield's International Sales & Support team.
Great speakers for the size!
Pros: Great volume without distortions
Cons: Little bass but it's to be expected for a smaller speaker
So at first I was frustrated buying these because I have JL Audio speakers in the front and woofers in the rear. JL Audio does not make a speaker size in the 5 -1/4 that fit my car. After doing some research I came across these that many people had nothing but good things to say so I gave it a chance. I was definitely surprised by the clarity, loudness and overall sound of these speakers. I have these powered by a Kenwood Excelon 900 amp and have no regrets with my purchase. I would recommend these speakers.
Pros: Very good value for the money. Great sound and clarity. Warranty.
Cons: I have none.
Great upgrade, good value and good sound.
significant upgrade to 15 year old oem speakers
I put these in my soundbar an hour ago. Only took about 15 minutes to install. They are a dramatic improvement over the stock speakers. No, they won't kick like a subwoofer but handle the lows much better than stock. No amp, just Pioneer head unit. As soon as I get done with this review I'm going to order two more for the dash corners. THAT is proof of satisfaction!
Pros: Great Sound for the price VERY easy install
Cons: Wish the grills were metal instead of plastic(no big deal though).
Terrific sound and easy to install, great sound for the price
Good little speakers with good sounds for the money. I should have bought a component speaker to get the full range sound more towards the ear instead of low in the door kick panel, but overall not a bad speaker.
Pros: Good sounding for the price!
Cons: Definitely need to run on high pass to eliminate lower frequencies that cause distortion.
Fantastic speaker for its size and price, excellent sound, well built and good bass Never used them before but really like them and you will as well. I mounted them in my camper
Pros: rugged speaker, well made
Really nice speakers and sound great paired with my Kickers 6x9 speakers I have in the back of my truck.
Pros: Inexpensive Good quality
Cons: None so far
Awesome speakers, put these in my bmw and they truly improved the sound quality. Would recommend to anyone!
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Don't fit perfect into the doors, just had to make a special bracket.
great speaker for the price. I chose the scratch and dent option for the speakers were hidden by the rear tray and you cant see them.
Pros: fit perfect
Cons: didn't need the speaker covers
My dad got me these for christmas very easy to install and attach to the JVC head. A much needed upgrade from the factory. I recommend for parents looking for a cheap, good sounding option to factory speakers.
Pros: Great sound, for their size, earth shaking bass.
Cons: Can be tinny, but that might be my car.
Good speakers for price, but not the best sound out there...
They are perfect for my truck, i would definitely recommend it to anybody with this truck
Cons: None what so ever
I am very pleased with kickers 5 1/4 speakers, highs are crisp, and bass response is good also for a speaker this size. And in the jeep tailgate there is room for two more, I'll be back for more
Cons: No cons
Crutchfield the company is awesome. The Kicker speakers, not so much. Tinny and no base
Cons: Tinny and no base
Great speakers they sound super good, even have some bass. Blows the factory ones out the water!!
These were an upgrade to my sound bar and was worth every penny. They fit prefect and with the free wiring connectors that came with them it was fast and easy. Crutchfield is the only way to go.
Pros: Perfect fit, free wiring connectors, fast shipping and price made this an easy choice.
Pros: 1000% better sound
These Kicker Speaker are great bang for the buck !
Originally bought for direct oem Replacement, I can say I don't need any more bass in my 04 Honda Accord. I would strongly suggest these speakers to any one in the market for them.
Pros: Fit perfectly with scorche fittings.
I had a hard time going for aftermarket speakers. First, thinking it was going to be complicated and costly. However, reading reviews and seeing it done, it didn't look as intimidating. I always thought aftermarket speakers probably weren't that much better, but after hooking these up and replacing my Honda Accord 14 speakers, I was amazed at how much better the mids and highs sounded! A lot more clarity and detail with these Kickers! Highly recommend!!
Pros: More clarity and detail! Good mids and highs!
Installed in rear doors of 2003 Nissan Maxima. Replaced the factory Bose head unit last year with the Pioneer AppRadio4 and lost the audio signal to my factory sub and tweeters. (Must have been something in the processor logic from the Bose head unit and factory amp.) I replaced the Bose sub with a Kicker 8" Comp RT and Kicker mono amp (Thanks, Crutchfield!), and added some after-market tweeters wired directly the new head unit. The Kicker sub really brought out the bass, but the rest of the system was still somewhat lacking. This year I decided to ditch the rest of the Bose system and installed these Kickers in the rear doors first. The sound was okay, but not much better than the factory speakers. I figured maybe it was the 2ohms still being passed from the factory amp. I then installed the Alpine 445U compact amp (only 45W rms) and a pair of Polk Db6501s for the front. I was a little concerned at first that maybe I had bought too low an rms rated amp, but WOW! The whole system came alive!. I experimented with turning off the sub and fading all the signal to the rear speakers and I can't believe how much volume that these speakers can handle and still be clear. They are so small, but so powerful. Hearing is believing. I didn't know that this kind of sound was possible from my old car. A note: I also added some Dynamat in the doors and trunk before I replaced any of the speakers and it made a significant difference to the factory setup. Even more so with the new speakers.
Pros: Rich bass, clear highs, incredibly powerful.
Needed to replace cheap factory speaker on my 2015 Harley Davidson. Can't beleive the difference especially for the price totally impressed.
Pros: Good highs clairity and a little more bass although for a speaker this size its not going to be like a sub. Went from 2 to 4 ohm didn't loose any volume very efficient.
Was easy to install , and sounds waaayyy better then those standard speakers!!
Pros: Sound is amazing easy installation
This was so easy! The wiring and speaker brackets worked perfectly! A+ Speakers sound so gooooddd!
Pros: Super easy installation
Cons: Didn't come with screws to mount speaker to speaker bracket
Excellent sound and price easy instal
Bought these to replace the factory front door speakers on my niece's 2010 Chevy Cobalt. The master sheet perfectly explained what I needed to do and I had the job done in about 45 minutes. This made a huge difference in the sound quality! My niece couldn't be happier. Kicker rocks! You won't find better speakers than these for the price.
Pros: Great sound, major upgrade over factory speakers, and affordable!
Cons: None so far. Kicker is amazing!
Got the Kicker 40CS54 speakers to go into the roll bar of my 1998 jeep, they installed right into the factory hole with no issues, using the extra adapter connector that came with the speaker. Got them to go with the new Sony CDX-G3100UP radio and Kicker 40CS464 front speakers. They sound great for the price.
Pros: Quick and easy fit into factory speaker location
Cons: The extra connector that came with the speaker, to mate to the factory connector, had too tight a fit on the small speaker terminal, and took a long time and patience to get on the speaker terminal
I purchased these to replace my factory speakers in my 04 sierra when I replaced my head unit. They came with free mounting brackets so they just snapped into door like factory did. The handle all thepower from my head unit at a great price.
Pros: price, free hardware, gd sound for price.
Cons: not top kicker quality
Great speakers. Fast and easy install instructions. Speakers came with mounting adapters as well as the wiring adapter harness. Nice sound and a great price..
Pros: Nice speakers for a good price. Don't feel cheap.
Upgraded amp in scoot, couldn't find any decent speakers for nice price that could handle power.....until now.
Pros: 4 ohm 75rms.
Great item for price. Very clear voice. Sounds great overall
These are good replacement speakers for the stock units in my Mazda 3. The sound from the stock head unit is crisp and clear even with the bass and mid range output set to max. Definitely worth the purchase price.
Pros: Inexpensive upgrade with good quality sound.
Have these installed in a 2000 Buick Regal with the same line 6x9s in the rear. Overall, I'm pretty impressed. Considering their small size they put out decent bass, but far from subwoofers or even their 6x9 cousins. I should actually say they put out a sound that lets you know what the bass line sounds like rather than what it feels like, which is fine with me, The highs don't come off as too bright and the mids are good too. I should also mention that right now I only have them powered by the stock headunit, which is really why I'm impressed. If they can change my speakers from being the worst I've heard to one of the best being driven by a 16 year-old STOCK head unit, imagine what they can do with an amp! Or even just an aftermarket stereo!
Pros: Very good drop-in replacements. Don't expect God to manifest in audio form, but rather expect a pretty extraordinary improvement.
Cons: None really.
Purchased these to replace factory speakers. Great choice.
Bought these speakers as a Christmas present and my friend couldn't be happier. I helped install them in his 1989 Firebird and they sound amazing for the price.
Ordered this as a gift for my father truck. Not only was the ordering simple but the order arrived exactly as promised when it was promised. Very quickly. The speakers came with the mounting brackets and wiring harness and made installation as simple as I could have hoped for. Zero complaints and will order from Crutchfield again!
Pros: Simple ordering, fast delivery, easy install.
I needed a pair of speakers efficient enough to be powered by my Chrysler factory radio and a advisor recommend these. I noticed a difference in sound right away. Great mids and highs and the bass isn't bad but I'm sure the bass will improve once the speakers are broken in.
We replaced the blown out speakers in a 2004 Accent GL with 4 of these Kicker speakers and really got our money's worth. They sounded great even with the stock radio but then we paired them with a Sony CDX-GT570UP receiver and got an even better result. Excellent price, fantastic tech support by phone (we had no idea what we were doing but the online instructions and live tech help made it so easy).
I bought 4 of these to replace the factory door speakers in my 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4-door pickup. The original speakers were toast and I had replaced the head unit with a decent JVC putting out 20 watts RMS about 2 years ago. These speakers put out really clear highs and mids but little bass. I was not expecting license plate vibrating thumps, but a little depth to the sound was expected despite the size of the speaker cone. I played with the internal EQ settings in the head unit, but at low volume levels it is still rather tinny. I'm upsizing the rear speakers to 6x8's and am considering a powered sub. A powered sub may be the perfect recipe, but these speakers alone, even with the aftermarket head unit, just don't cut it for full sound. All that being said they weren't that much per pair... and required no mods to the door panels to install.
Pros: Clean install, highs, mids
Cons: Sound fullness, bass quality especially at low-mid volume levels.
Great sound and a great fit. Very crisp and clean
Pros: Fantastic speakers
Cons: No cons that I could find
Love the sound
Pros: Great fit
Very easy to install with Crutchfield supplied parts. Had two front speakers in my wife's 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee in about an hour or less. They sound sooo much better than the factory speakers. Thank you for such a great deal
Pros: Easy install sound great
I bought these speakers as a replacement for my Jeep TJ roll bar speakers. What a great improvement over stock. They sound great with the OEM radio
Pros: Easy install with the wire harness provided FREE with the order. 10 minute install time
Sound great, easy to install, nice factory upgrade
In the jeep the speakers seemed to give a richer sound definition than the old paper factory speakers. The fit was a little different but no modifications were needed using the existing factory speaker covers. I may need to get an amp to get the full potential from these speakers as I did not notice much of a difference when there were turned up loud. I figure it is just the poor quality aftermarket that was put in this jeep. Some day a full stereo mod will go down!
Pros: Fit well. Sound quality was improved.
Cons: Once cranked up they seemed to perform average. May be my stereo unit.
Easy install and what an up grade to the sound from the stero.
These speakers sound really amazing in my XJ Jeep. With Kenwood radio, 22w rms/speaker, there is very nice sound quality and surprising hear & feel of the bass for such small size. Loudness will go more than safe listening level and still beautifully clear, as long as you don't push the bass EQ level too hard.
Pros: Surprising Sound Quality Nice Build Quality
Great sound! Put them in the sound bar of my Wrangler. Excellent price to boot. What's not to like?
Pros: Sound and price
Cons: None so far
Everything worked as anticipated during the install in my 2011 Altima. Sound fine for the price, definitely much better than the factory speakers they replaced.
Low cost, easy to install with wiring harness, good sound.
Pros: Cost & installation.
The speakers fit with no modification. They have good sound and are better mid-range to high. They are much better than the stock speakers.
Pros: EZ fit, good sound.
Cons: Not as robust on lower end.
These speakers fit wonderfully in my 1984 Corvette will be buying an amp later from Crutchfield later as well!!!
Pros: Easy to install, sound wonderful, great for factory stereos.
Cons: None that I can see
Easy install with the include wiring harnesses that fit perfectly and not only do they look good in my Wrangler's roll bar, they sound really great. A good bargain on a quality sounding speaker set.
Pros: Sound and look
Cons: None that I could think of
Kicker 40CS54 speakers . I used them to replace the rear OEM speakers on my Toyota tundra. they are a bit small for my application however I was able to install them with the included speaker brackets from CRUTCHFIELD they sound great and are inexpensive I regret not purchasing the larger speakers from kicker I believe they would sound better.
Pros: inexpensive, great sound.
The paper speakers in my 1995 Mercury Tracer were blown so I ordered these based on a recommendation from a Crutchfield rep. When I installed the first one I tested it against the paper and I was pretty upset. The highs were tinny, the mids and lows were basically non-existant. I was ready to send them back but I was in a rush so I left it in for my commute. During the commute I remembered that I had turned the bass and treble all the way down because the paper speakers were so distorted that it made them pop and rattle. Once I turned that back up it was night and day. I finished putting in the other 3 speakers this morning and I have to say, even on a stock, awful ford head unit from the early 90s with no amp these little speakers rock. I am very happy with them for under 100 bucks. The mounting tabs included leave a little to be desired and the bracket is plastic but you can't really complain when they're free. They get the job done.
Pros: Low price, Well rounded speaker
Cons: None after I played with the head unit adjustments.
Needed an inexpensive set of speakers to replace the spent OE door speaker in my old SUV. The Kicker speakers fit that description perfectly. Quality materials, solid frame and easy installation. Plus 20.00 off ! a no brainer. Sound is very good quality, not much base but then they are only 5 1/4 speakers. good high frequency dispersion form the tweeter... For a OE replacement, these are hard to beat.
Pros: Cheap, easy fit, look good, sound good
Cons: Bass response fair. Not a "direct" fit for my vehicle, had to drill new mounting holes as the OE flanges were larger
These speakers are ok for the price but if you really want them to slap you should hook them up to an amp. I thought they sounded pretty good on my stock radio but once I put in a kenwood head unit and (cheap) amp they sounded so much better just it was like the music came to life!
Pros: Great for a budget drop in.
Cons: They run off a lot of power
These speakers, with the free brackets and connectors they send you, were easy to install. Thanks for all the free stuff you guys give with this purchase. These went right into my 1995 Ford Escort LX wagon front doors. They sound fantastic!
Replaced stock speakers and they sound much better
Pros: Easy install low cost
Great sound for the size, nice bass, crisp highs. I have a kenwood deck and it's a great combo. I've used kicker subs in the past and now will use their speakers as well.
Pros: Nice powerful sound
what a difference the sound from these little speaker produces
Pros: perfect for me
Perfect fit for my 2003 wrangler. Sound great and the included connections made it simple
Pros: included adapters.
Replaced the stock rear speakers in my Cherokee XJ with these. Easy direct bolt in install. The free adapter harness made wiring a snap. No cutting or splicing. The speakers sound great! A definite improvement over the factory speakers!
Pros: Fast shipment. Easy installation. Great sound!
I changed the speakers in my sisters Tahoe because chevy has crappie stock speakers. It sounded so good I did my speakers in my Silverado. Crutchfield knows what it takes and sends the adapters and wiring. It's a definite win.
Pros: Shipped to your door. Great products. Awesome prices.
Cons: No cons. No worries.
Perfect fit easy installation
Pros: No cutting no drilling
Cons: None that I can see
Easy to install and sound really great for the price.
Pros: Sound great.
Great sound for a little speaker, vocal clarity with nice sounding mid and highs. Nice addition to the sound quality of ur music, for the price.
Pros: Great mids, highs and vocals.
Cons: Lacks bass
These speakers have great response and sound quality. They are all and more than I expected.
Pros: Great sound and ease of install. Packing was great as well no damage in shipping.
Not very happy with these speakers. I replaced my stock speakers with these. I'm still using my stock radio (8.4" dodge ram system) The highs are tingy and the mids and lows don't exist. I ended up putting my factory speakers back in and it sounds much better.
Cons:Crutchfield response on October 19, 2015 That's a common reaction when replacing car speakers. In the case of these Kicker speakers, they're going to need more power than your factory speakers needed in order to sound their best. They likely won't sound good at all on a factory stereo. You'll either need to add an aftermarket stereo or an amplifier (a small, 4-channel amp can supply twice the power of an aftermarket stereo and three or four times the power of the typical factory radio) or return these and get speakers with a higher sensitivity. Either way, we'll be glad to help - just give us a call.
These speakers sound great just what I needed to replace my 2003 factory ones.
Pros: Easy to install with the instructions
They sound great
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: The "adapter" kit did not seal well and I had to use foam to keep it from vibrating. Also a little disappointed about the size. Would have liked larger speakers.
These speakers were just what I needed to change out the factory speakers in a 99 Chevy Tahoe.
Pros: Easy to install and easy read instructions.
Perfect fit in the dash of my 06 Wranger. Great sound with the factory deck.
Pros: Sound Easy to install
bought the full set of replacement speakers for my 2005 jeep wrangler unlimited, easy to install and sound amazing. adapter cables came with the speakers at no charge an fast shipping.
Pros: perfect fit, great sound and adapter cables came with them
These speakers are amazing. They sound great and hit really hard when it gets loud. They are super clear and sound awesome with my subs.
Pros: Get loud. Clarity is great. Vocals are clear and not fuzzy.
Cons: Nothing bad!
Nothing but the best when it comes to buying the best products.
These speakers give great sound to any deck. Awesome power for the best price
Pros: Great sound, easy upgrade, and awesome price for the bang.
For the size, it has a better sound than the Sony XPlods I had replaced, which would pop on the lows. These tend to hand the bass a little better for their small size and they have a pretty high power handling capability as well.
Pros: Handle lows better for the size
Cons: Instructions don't tell you how to use the funkly L shaped screw mounting clips, which to me should be U shaped instead of L shaped.
Put these in my car and it was music to my ears.
Pros: Easy install. Great listening
Cons: Can't think of one.
Great sounding speakers for the money
I istalled these in my 2010 Ford Transit, WOW I should have done this years ago
Cons: No cons
Good mid level speaker for the price
Pros: good sound and easy install
Speakers were for a Toyota Sequoia. Speakers work fine and sound great as long as the back speakers are on too. Alone they lack any bass at all. Hardest piece was figuring out how to reuse the brackets from the old speakers. It would have been easier if I had new brackets which fitted both speaker and car as the included hardware could never work.
Pros: Fits in car, sound good with back speakers
Cons: Needed to reuse brackets and provide own hardware to connect to bracket. No bass if run without back speakers.
Put these in a 2002 Jeep Wrangler sound bar, and they fit perfect. Sounds great, little to no bass, but that could easily be fixed with a click of the mouse on the many subwoofers and amps on Crutchfield.com
Pros: Great price, great looks, and sounds amazing for the price. Easy install with all the free installation gear.
Cons: No bass and that's it.
Bought a pair to replace the front speakers in my Honda Element - they installed very easily and sound beyond what I expected. Liked them so much I ordered a pair to replace the rear speakers.
Pros: The sound...
Cons: That I didn't do this sooner
Sounds good. Better than factory. Good price.
Pros: Comes with plug. Comes with mounting brackets
Cons: Mounting bracket hardware broke. Had to use nuts and bolts to mount bracket to speaker. No big deal.
Sure beats the crap out of those cheap factory speakers. Plus they're not that expensive and they are easy to install.
Pros: easy install, better than factory speakers, quality materials
Excellent speakers with quick shipping
Pros: Perfect fit
Bought these to replace the front door speakers in 2001 Buick Century. Easy install and sound great
Pros: Good sound, direct fit
The kicker speakers have always been recognized as a good brand and this is no different. They are small and powerful, but when you turn the volume to almost peak, they start to get scratchy and you need to turn the music back down. However, they were a cheap set of speakers and do what they advertise so I am happy with them.
Pros: Sound Quality Easy Installation Clean Look
Cons: Sound distorted when high volume
Just installed these as replacement speakers in RV. Very pleased thus far with clarity, column, and overall performance. For the price, they are an excellent value.
Good value for the price. Easy install.
Cons: Covers don't work on the sound bar speakers.
I ordered a pair of these for my 2000 Volvo S40 . I replaced the factory speakers in the rear deck . The factory speakers had lost their surrounds and sounded awful . I replaced the factory head unit with an inexpensive jvc which is too much for these 15 year old speakers . When I hooked in these kickers wow ! The difference was amazing . The tweeters absolutely scream and the woofer delivers a surprising low end . I've ran kicker subwòofers in the past so I am aware of the high quality to value ratio . I'm more than satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend you get these . I'm going to replace my door speakers with this same pair . The install took about 15 minutes . Super easy with equipment included . The Crutchfield staff made ordering a snap and were extremely friendly and gave direct answers to my questions . So in all I would recommend this product as well as Crutchfield . More than satisfied .
Upgraded sound system on my 1993 325i with kicker front speakers and Blaupunkt amps, head unit, & sub-woofer. These speakers are a huge improvement over OEM speakers.
I got these on suggestion from one of the crutchfield team members and love them. There is still more i need to Finnish my system but with the guidance of crutchfield I have no doubt my system will rock.
Pros: All around awesome replacement speakers for jeep rollbar
Cons: None so far
Put these behind the seats in my standard cab Dodge Ram pick-up, they sound better than the Kickers DSC 41 6by9 in the front doors.
Pros: Quality materials great sound
Cons: Kickers have no cons
Excellent sound and quality compared to factory speakers.
Great speakers for the price tight clean sound.
Pros: Price Shipping speed Sound quality
Cons: Wish it had more oomph when the bass hit.
Great speakers for the money.
Pros: Sound great. Fit in stock location.
I have only good things to say. This was very quick shipping. They also give you everything you need to hook up in your vehicle. Also a pamphlet to go along with it and all the connectors are free with purchase.
Pros: This item sounds great it was everything I wanted. Kicker products are good in all qualities. They last a long time there sound is on point. I have nothing bad to say about these speakers.
Great replacement speakers for '04 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon rollbar speakers. Great instructions and Crutchfield supplied everything needed for an easy installation. Now gives me confidence to attempt replacing factory stereo head unit.
Pros: Inexpensive Quality sound Easy to install
Cons: None yet!
The bass response could have been better but I was able to compensate by maxing out the bass setting on the reciever. Otherwise the sound was good and clear. My problem is that after a summer of driving through very bumpy road construction both speakers started to buzz and rattle. One broke after a month and the other went a month later. They are now shot and I need new speakers again.
Pros: Clear sound
Cons: not durable
Great high range from such a small speaker
Pros: Crisp high range with a low profile for tight installation areas.
Cons: Small speaker with minimal low range thump.
Installed in 2005 Honda Civic rear deck. That factory speakers had more volume. Disappointed in Kicker.
Pros: Decent highs.
Cons: No bass noticeable. Factory speakers sound way better. Do not buy.Crutchfield response on April 7, 2015 It's not uncommon for people to report hearing less bass with new speakers. Factory speakers are often made of cheap, flimsy materials. When you replace that with a better quality speaker, it'll need a little more power than the cheap one did to produce the same amount of bass. But the bass (and all of the music, for that matter) that you do hear will be cleaner and more detailed.
Nice sound great price
I bought these to replace the factory speakers in the back of my Dodge Ram and offer some back seat upper end to counter the subs I just installed. They do an awesome job! Good crisp upper end even at full volume. On line fitment recommendations from Crutchfield were spot on. Speakers fit perfectly in the factory openings.
Pros: Good sound. Good fit. Good looking.
Good sound from small speaker. Great price .
Great value. If you just want to replace the stock speakers and plan on running the original deck, these are a great choice. Fit perfect and decent sound.
i installed in 1996 jeep cherokee. i used in front doors and rear overhead. .
Pros: easy to install. great fit. good sound from 5.25 speakers. i might add sub to fill in sound from rear speakers.
Cons: wiring harness kit did not fit factory plugs.
What a difference in sound from the factory speakers. Put a set in wife's 2007 KIA . They sound Great .
These sound way better than the kenwood blue 6x8's I replaced in my ranger. They sound better than the kenwood 6 1/2"s in my wife's yaris. Puts out better bass.
Pros: Loud, good bass for a small speaker. Way better than cheap kenwoods.
Cons: Rubber surround would be nice
I installed these in the sound bar as well as the dash. The adapters for the dash will allow these to fit. I actually mounted these in pods filled with poly-fill and the sounds is much improved over the stock 4x6 speakers. I don't regret getting these speakers at all. I replaced my factory head unit with a Kenwood unit.
Pros: Simple install. Improved sound.
I bought these speakers for a 2005 Honda Civic because Crutchfield recommended these. They are terrible!!!
Cons: to much highs and not enough of anything else!! I would not buy these for any reason
Wow!!! These speakers are outstanding in sound quality over the factory speakers. Even without amping them I'm impressed. Kicker simply knows what they are doing especially when you are looking for more bang for your buck.
Pros: Well built, sound quality, & Price.
Cons: None so far.
Got these to replace worn factory speakers after installing a nice receiver . They sound good at low volume but can't handle the power of the new receiver . I should've went bigger .
Pros: Easy install with supplied parts . Good replacement for factory system
Cons: Can't handle much power .
I put these front-and-rear in a Ford Aspire. The sound fantastic, and installation was super easy. Everything we needed to install was included in the kit.
Pros: Great sound. Easy install
I bought these to replace the stock speakers I have in my 86 Civic. The installation was so easy and the technical support guys were awesome and helped me out. Very pleased with Crutchfield, and beyond stoked for these speakers!
Just completed the installation of my front and rear speakers, very happy so far they sound much better than the factory speakers (Cheap junk)
Pros: Great sound so far and they look like they are made to last.
Cons: It would have helped if the installation guide had come with a vehicle specific wiring diagram which would have saved me time on trying to figure out which wires were positive and negative.
Great upgrade over factory speakers. These will pair great with a nice sub, don't expect to have window shattering bass...their just nice upgrades.
Pros: EASY INSTALL
I bought these to replace old warn out factory speakers for the rear doors in my daughter's 2002 Saturn L series. I did not have any set expectations based on the reviews already posted being across the board but I was very pleasantly surprised. For their size the do actually have decent bass. Their mid and high sections are very well rounded and do not come off as being overly bright. If and when I need to replace any speakers in my 8 year old Civic I just may end up using Kickers after all. I usually went with Kenwood, Sony or JVC (even Clarion and Pioneers) in years past but these were nicely made and look like they will hold up well. Overall, these 5 1/4's are a really nice replacement speakers for a great price.
Pros: Baskets were not too deep and will more than likely work in almost any car door. The materials in the speakers are great for longevity in the harsh "door environment" they will live in too.
Cons: The only negative that comes to mind is the single mounting pattern with virtually all 5 1/4 speakers.
Speakers are a good upgrade to the factory set, however I could have gone with a slightly larger speaker for my rear doors in a 14 tundra crewmax. Speaker sound good and should be more than enough for great sound when system is complete.
Pros: Good sound
Cons: Termination points
Great sound and quality!
Not gonna blab much, but these speakers sound good for the price. Not top of the line, but worth the price. Clear, crisp, and able to take some power.
Pros: Easy install and nice sound
Cons: Open face makes a temptation for young fingers.
I installed 4 of these guys into my 2004 Jeep Wrangler about 2 weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased. I had reasonable expectations of what they would be able to do for me and they have matached/surpassed them! These speakers are installed in the stock overhead rollbar mount (two) and in dash-mounted speaker pods (two) purchased from Crutchfield as well. They are all being pushed by a 250W amp- all together they are giving me great sound in a Jeep- which is hard to do! As can be expected, there isn't much in the way of low-end with these guys, but I have an under-seat powered sub that covers that- these guys are doing a great job covering the mids and highs!
Pros: Happy with them! Great mids and highs and they look great to boot!
Sounded better than stock speakers
Pros: Better than stock speakers. Rear speakers fit perfectly
Cons: front door speakers fit but had to drill a hole to mount better, original holes were too wide for speakers
speakers have really nice clear sound but still have enough bass to make all kinds of music listeners happy.
Pros: Clear sound
Cons: More bass
I've had these speakers for about 9 months. I've had nothing but good sound out of them. Id definitely purchase again. Good if you're not wanting to spend too much money.
Bought these as a replacement for my 4Runners stick speakers. Didn't really expect much for under $75, but I went for it. I'm really happy I did. They produce a really great overall sound. Nice and loud, haven't really put them to the test because they are still pretty new. I have no doubt that they will take it all in stride. The Alpine CDE HD149BT that is pushing all 4 Kicker CS series speakers sounds great. Want a great upgrade on your speakers on a budget, get these! Yeah you don't get the loss of a sub, but that's why you buy a sub.
Pros: Cheap, sound great, loud
Cons: No low lows
all the parts came with it to mount them and sounds good I did not even have drill holes I was very impressed
Pros: need more sizes
Cons: sounds greate
These speakers are great . For price , and sound . Very easy to install ( 15 min. ) both sides .
Pros: Price Ease of install
Speakers were very easy to install and sound great. I do not hear any vibrations, and the bass is not bad.
Pros: Very Easy to install
I installed these speakers on my wife's 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4-door, into the boxes on the roll-bar. Had to use the wiring adapter, along with the bracket that was provided by Crutchfield. Although I could've used a larger speaker in the existing hole, the speakers sound great. Excellent highs and the mids sound great. I've got subwoofers so I've dialed down the bass on the speakers to keep them from distorting. These speakers are powered only by the stock radio, no amp, and they still put out great sound!! I'd buy these again for my wife's jeep any day.
Pros: Crisp highs. Clear mids.
Cons: Smaller than anticipated for the existing roll-bar hole.
These speakers are OK. Definitely an improvement over factory but I think for the money or a few dollars more there are better products
Pros: Fit in door without modifying opening or interior panel
Cons: Poor frequency range compared to the Rockford Fosgate I installed up front
Very good product at a nice price.......very good sound, can't wait to hook up the amp!
Pros: Ease of ordering, quick shipping, good product
I bought these as a set of kickers for my new Mini. they replaced polks DXI in my old car. I got the 6x9's, 51/4's and some tweeters. Sound is nice for new speakers and these little speakers have nice punch! I have an Alpine head unit and power pack with a JL mono amp and ported 12 kicker sub. I bought these for temporary speakers until could buy expensive ones. No break in time yet and I need to set the speakers to my car, but for now, I am very pleased with the quality of the sound. I may not need the expensive speakers ? Ask me in a year.......
Pros: they fit as was told and all the goodies for install was there. nice punch for little speakers!
Cons: none so far, if they last ?
Great speaker package price was better than local stores and with all the mounting brackets and wiring adapters it looks like it can't be beat . Thanks
They are reay good for the price. I had them for 3 months and 1 already blew. They cant handle a lot of bass. But great sound quality.
Would be better if cover had longer screws to fit in sound bar
Decided that it was time to upgrade my factory speakers in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Very happy with the quality and sound, but I'm not looking to shatter any windows with my system. Definitely an improvement from the stock speakers. Install was extremely easy and Crutchfield was excellent in telling me what to expect (that the speaker covers don't fit). Nice price, too!
Pros: Easy install, good sound.
Cons: The speaker covers don't fit in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. No biggie, just have to use the factory covers.
They're good but one of the 2 already blew out and I still have a factory stereo
Good sound quality for the price
Pros: Great sound. Great Price.
Cons: Have to custom fit speakers to front door location of 06 Jetta
Great product for the moderate cost. Speakers sound better than the factory units without a doubt.
Pros: Moderate cost, Great sound
I install them to replace my factory speakers definitely an upgrade but bass are too weak for me, vocals are definitely clear. I was hoping for a better result. So, good enough for now.
Pros: Easy installation and perfect fit.
Cons: Not as good as advertised.
Great speaker for the money
Pros: Small but powerful
