It's time for an upgrade

Upgrading the old factory speakers in your car will give you a huge bump in sound quality, and Kicker designed CS Series speakers to get your sound system rockin' without breaking the bank. You'll enjoy your music even more when you hear all the details that your muddy-sounding factory speakers couldn't begin to reproduce.

Built tough

Kicker's 40CS654 speaker set provides low-end from a tough 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer, with a polyester foam surround that will stay strong for years to come. The 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter takes care of the vocal and instrumental details that'll really bring your music to life. These speakers sound great powered by a factory radio or an aftermarket car stereo, and they'll really rock when connected to an external amplifier. Grilles are included.

Product Highlights:

  • 2-way 6-1/2" speakers (pair)
  • polypropylene woofer cone with polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter
  • power range: 2-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 40-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 90 dB
  • top-mount depth: 1-13/16"
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Kicker 40CS654

Written By Ike, Philadelphia, New York on Monday, June 01, 2015

Great sound, deeper bass and crisp highs. I'm running them thru a JVC KW-V21B and the sound over stock is amazing. If you are looking for pounding bass you will need a sub but for great sound at a fair price these are the ticket. Glad I took the online tech advise from Crutchfield.

Pros: Awesome!!!

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to replace a pair of Alpines that only last a few years. When I installed the Alpines I was worried about the quality of the speaker material as it seemed cheap. However, when I installed these Kicker speakers, I couldn't be happier with the build quality. I ran new 14 gauge wire through the door and the car to the trunk where I have a 4 channel amp dedicated to just the speakers. So far these sound great, crisp and clear. I cannot wait to enjoy these on longer road trips, once theyr'e broken in the sound should be good. So far the improvement of sound is very noticeable, and nothing but in a good way. The brackets that came with the speakers from Crutchfield did Not fit a 2005 civic coupe however, not the end of the world as I just mocked up the position and then went to work mounting each up to the door panel. No worries for someone who has lots of tools and up for the slight challenge. The end result is well worth it. Shipping was fast, and packaging of the items was perfect. I checked the prices of these speakers around the inter-webs and also in local stores before I purchased and I was impressed to see that Crutchfield was the winner hands down, nice to see that! Hope this review helps others, I did a lot of research to find the right speaker and it looks like these are going to be a perfect fit.

Pros: Build Quality, RMS rating was high enough for my Amp, Sound is full & Crisp, Shipping is fast

Cons: Speaker Brackets included from Crutchfield said to fit a 2-dr civic coupe did Not fit, had to modify (a lot) to make work.

No Bass

Written By Anonymous, washington DC on Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these to install in my 2015 honda accord. I installed these and hooked up a 4-channel amp to the factory sound system. The amp was rated at 45-watts per channel. Even with all that power these speakers had zero bass. I mean none. So I disconnected the Amp and ran the speakers on the factory head unit. It was even worst without the amp. The factory head unit did not have enough power to run them correctly. I removed the kicker speakers and put the factory speakers back in the car. Now the system souds good. It is strange to me thatthese speakers have no bass even when they are being fed adequate power. Poor design

Pros: none

Cons: no bass

As expected

Jeep 11' Wrangler Install

Written By thart, Florida on Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed in my 2011 Jeep Wrangler overhead sound bar. Excellent sounding speaker, very clear at all volumes. Speaker adapters provided were useless for my install. Cut up the factory speakers and used those as frames to mount the Kickers. A little bit of a pain to cut, but they worked perfectly. Recommend running new speaker wire to these speakers in the Jeep. Don't bother trying to use factor speaker wire.

Pros: excellent sound

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product for the price. Cant produce low sounds as well as some may hope when purchasing. But these as door speakers paired with 6x9s in the rear deck sound amazing.

Pros: easy to install, quality sounds, perfect for avid music listener

Cons: not as much kick as one may expect when used with speakers of just this size

These speakers kick butt, I wanted some bass in my old pickup, replaced my aged ford stock speakers with these in the front doors and wow I am so impressed I wish I would have gotten kickers for the rear. Major improvement from my stock setup and of course Crutchfield rocks, great price and they always make sure you have everything you need to install on whatever car you own.

Great Speakers!

Written By Todd, Dallas, Tx on Saturday, May 09, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I brought these as replacement speakers in my doors. First time around I got the Kenwoods because the advisor said they were good replacement speakers. Well I wasn't happy with them and returned them for the Kickers. Well I'm glad I did! The kickers are well worth the extra money I spent and make a world of difference. I'm not a audio guy nor am I a spring chicken but these are great for what I wanted. Great mids and the highs are crazy. I replaced my factory sub with a Polk too. If your wanting to replace your factory speakers and get a lot of bang for your buck go with the Kickers! Will let ya know how my return goes with the Kenwoods. So far the process is pretty easy and the advisors have been helpful.

Pros: East install and great price.

Cons: None!

Kicker - 100% Better than Factory

Written By Chad, California on Friday, May 08, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Always been a big fan of the Kicker brand, and these don't disappoint. Just changed out the factory speakers in my 2014 Ram 1500 in the front doors. What an improvement!! Get plenty of highs, mids and bass, but not the thumping kind. That's what a sub is for and is on my to-do list. Have to start somewhere.

Pros: loud, clear, priced right

Cons: none

Replaced the stock speakers in the front/mid doors on my 2000 Suburban. Should have done this Long ago. These have great sound - tight bass and clear treble. Installation was a breeze with the kits Crutchfield included. My boys love the new sound and jamming tunes on the way to baseball!

Pros: Great sound quality

Cons: None @ this time

Great Factory Upgrade!

Written By DaddyCaddy, Ohio on Friday, May 01, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Upgraded my wifes factory speakers in her 2014 Honda Odyssey mini van, wow what a difference!! The factory speakers are so cheap made. The kicker speakers are made of much better materials. Music is really clear now and actually have high sounds you didn't hear with factory speakers. No distortion when volume is turned up. Still using factory head unit and no amp. Really happy with these kickers. Installation was super easy with brackets and wiring harness supplied by Crutchfield. If you are looking to upgrade factory sound, look no further and you can't beat the price!

Pros: Great Sound Good Quality Easy Install Awesome Price!!

Cons: None

Great punch per dollar

Written By Snowavedave, Minnesota on Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pretty easy install and great sound for the dollar. Nice depth of field and seperation. Would highly recommend for upgrading stock speakers to a sound field that is full at high and low volumes but doesn't need to win any ghetto low-rider wars, it just needs to sound great and not break the bank :P

Pros: Sound quality, full sound and high and low volumes, very reasonably priced.

Cons: None.
