It's time for an upgrade

Upgrading the old factory speakers in your car will give you a huge bump in sound quality, and Kicker designed CS Series speakers to get your sound system rockin' without breaking the bank. You'll enjoy your music even more when you hear all the details that your muddy-sounding factory speakers couldn't begin to reproduce.

Built tough

Kicker's 40CS6934 speaker set provides low-end from a tough 6"x9" polypropylene woofer, with a polyester foam surround that will stay strong for years to come. The 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter and 2" polypropylene midrange take care of the vocal and instrumental details that'll really bring your music to life. These speakers sound great powered by a factory radio or an aftermarket car stereo, and they'll really rock when connected to an external amplifier. Grilles are included.

Product Highlights:

  • 3-way 6"x9" speakers (pair)
  • polypropylene woofer cone with polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter and 2" polypropylene dome midrange
  • power range: 2-150 watts RMS (450 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 30-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 92 dB
  • top-mount depth: 3-1/4"
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Take my review with a grain of salt...

Written by: Patrick from cedar park, TX on February 7, 2016

I was hoping for a little more clarity, however I'm using these speakers just off the after market stereo. Take a look at other reviews for information regarding systems that have amps.

Pros: Fit well into the front door of my 06' Titan.

Cons: Not the clarity and sound I was hoping for, however this is just running off my aftermarket stereo with no Amp.

Very nice speakers for my 2008 Buick Lucerne

Written by: Joseph from granger, IN on February 6, 2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a Kenwood DDX471HD heatset , 2 40CS6934 Kickers in the back deck, 2 40CSS654 kickers in the front doors with the seperate tweeters in the windshield pillars.

The installation was not hard at all. There was an adaptor bracket for the front doors to fit the speakers inside.

Pros: The speakers do very well for high end and midrange sounds. I have been driving with this setup for around a year now and they perform very well. I would recommend them for anyone looking to get good sound out of their stock or replacement head unit setup. Very nice highs and the midrange is acceptable considering there is no amp in my car or subwoofer (yet).

Cons: I have no cons really about the speakers. They are a bit weak on the bass but thats just the nature of the beast. Anyone installing these or actually any of the others will eventually want a subwoofer in their car. However I would not count this against the speakers. I think a lot of novice buyers think they are going to get much more punch in the low end when installing speakers but that is only partcially true. You do get some and you will notice it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I added these to the front doors on my 2015 Ram 2500. I had to fab a spacer but they fit. I previously upgraded the head unit to a Jensen multimedia player. These speakers really cleaned up the sound over the stock speaker. They added a bit more bass but a lot more clarity over the stock muddy sound. I am sure they would be even better with an amp but that is not the direction I was heading. I am real happy with these for the price.

Pretty Impressive Replacements

Written by: Marco O from Indiana on January 3, 2016

2000 Buick Regal
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have these installed in a 2000 Buick Regal with the same line 5 1/4s in the front. They're currently being driven straight from the stock headunit, and with that considered these are very impressive. There is significant bass on these like many have mentioned, but definitely not subwoofer quality or accurate. The mids also come in pretty clean with highs being good but rather bright at times.

It's somewhat difficult for me to review these considering they're currently being driven from the stock headunit and thus not being used at nearly their full potential. Also, the brightness and good but not super accurate bass is probably more because of the head unit than the speakers themselves. But that being said, before the stock speakers were the worst speakers I had ever heard; now I actually go in the Regal to just sit and listen to music as they're now one of the best speakers I've ever heard in a car. It honestly surprises me what these can derive from a 16 year old stock head unit.

So all in all, these are very good replacements; you won't be sorry. However, don't expect these to BLOW YOUR MIND if you don't replace anything else. If you want that to happen, replace the headunit and connect these to a good amp and I'm sure you'll be astonished.

Pros: Very good option for drop-in replacements, they will blow your stock speakers out of the water.

Cons: This isn't Kicker's fault but rather Crutchfield's. While it was helpful having the Mastersheet, it wasn't completely accurate. 1. In order to remove the rear seat in my car, I had to remove 2 10mm nuts below the back rest and 2 behind them when they're folded. Crutchfield said to remove the 15mm nuts attaching the seatbelts, which was unnecessary. 2. To actually unscrew the rear stock speakers, I had to use a star screw driver cut in half since it was too tall to use in the rear deck. Not sa

Bought these several months ago and loved them! Ran them off my head unit at about 17 rms. Very little bass but the clarity was awesome. I just installed a amp supplying these with 120 watts rms and am a little disappointed I now have less clarity but a lot of bass! I don't need anymore bass cause I have a sub. I will continue to do some fine tuning but right now I have mixed feeling.

Pros: Good quality speakers that seem to be able to take a beating

Cons: Don't happy after installing an external pioneer amp

2012 Challenger

2012 Dodge Challenger
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased these because of their efficiency. I wanted to do a simple system that could run the mids and highs off the deck alone. The db sensitivity and product description pointed towards these being the best fit for my simple system plan. I've been installing since the 90's and have done it all. IMO these have great bass response; especially considering the lack of amplifier. Typically I see a decrease in bass response when throwing a set of coaxial speakers in the door. The bass was impressive even with the low power fed to them. I will add that the highs are very tinny. I have the deck set to neg on the treble settings. Maybe they will sound more balanced with an amp/proper power?

Pros: Great bass response even with low power

Cons: Tinny highs Was not a perfect fit on the Challenger. Had to Very carefully get three of the factory screws to work in the factory speaker bracket. The fourth screw required drilling a new hole all together. Not sure if another 6x9 would have been an exact fit or if dodge uses a speaker that is slightly off?

Written by: Billy from Minnesota on October 14, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not very happy with these speakers. I replaced my stock speakers with these. I'm still using my stock radio (8.4" dodge ram system) The highs are tingy and the mids and lows don't exist. I ended up putting my factory speakers back in and it sounds much better. My next step is to install an amp to all my door and dash speakers. This is when Im hoping the Kicker speakers do much better.

Pros:

Cons:

Crutchfield response on October 19, 2015 That's a common reaction when replacing car speakers. In the case of these Kicker speakers, they're going to need more power than your factory speakers needed in order to sound their best. They likely won't sound good at all on a factory stereo. You'll either need to add an aftermarket stereo or an amplifier (a small, 4-channel amp can supply twice the power of an aftermarket stereo and three or four times the power of the typical factory radio) or return these and get speakers with a higher sensitivity. Either way, we'll be glad to help - just give us a call.

1998 Chevrolet Lumina
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased 4 of these Kickers (two in door, two 6x9's in back deck) to replace factory speakers in a 1998 Lumina. Needless to say it is a huge improvement, especially at the higher volume levels. I am not a real picky audiophile, but I did want a substantial upgrade over stock and these Kickers deliver that for me. Most importantly, the instructions and wiring harnesses that were included made the job fairly painless. Removing rear seats and door panels can be a huge mess if you don't know where every bolt, screw, and clip are situated, so (at least for me) the instructions alone made it worth the effort to buy from Crutchfield.

Pros: Clear sound, good value, easy installation.

Cons: None.

Great speakers for the money

Written by: Terry C. from Prattville, AL on September 11, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered these speakers to replace the OEM speakers in the front doors of my Nissan Titan. The sound was much clearer, but you basically only got highs with no mid bass at all. So I decided to change out the head unit, add a 5 channel amp & a 10in sub under the back seat. After all of that I am extremely happy with these speakers. If you're buying them to use with an amp you can't beat them for the money! Great Purchase!

Pros: Great Value. Easy Installation. Mids, highs & mid bass in one package. Handles 125 watts per channel easily with no distortion.

Cons: Needs an aftermarket amplifier to produce a full sound.

They were not the easiest to install. Speed clips snapped in two - Only two of four mounting holes aligned with 2008 Cobalt rear deck . They sound good , and seem to be able to handle the extra power from an after market head unit . Directions are general in references and don't show the speaker being installed on rear deck - Only reference to mounting and use of speed clips is one sentence on page three " Secure speaker to desired location " Pick up some speed clips prior to installing , it will make the job a lot easier.

Pros: Look nice .

Cons: Supplied hardware is inexpensive and breaks - Was not a direct fit in the 2008 cobalt rear deck - Directions were poor

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great speakers for the money. Of course i Didn't A-B this with several other modern 6 x 9s but I have no complaints about the units. Crisp clear and with a nice thump. Currently just powering them from a new Kenwood head but I can tell these things want more power and are almost ... idling until you reach breakup point at max volume. I am already looking at small amps and probably going to throw a cheap sound ordnance unit on them to really make them sing. With 100 watts pushing them I'm betting they will sound amazing and practically blow you out of the car.

Pros: great speaker for the money

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were a great replacement for my factory speakers that were original to my 1992 Firebird. At extremely loud volumes they can distort but with a source with nice bass, you hear great bass from these speakers. I really can't say much about the highs and mids because I have the matching 4X6's in my dash and they produce excellent highs so they seem to be a great combination. I used the original screws that I removed when I removed my old speakers to install the new speakers. They are a great value for a mid range speaker. Kicker makes a lesser quality speaker as well as a better quality speaker so this seems to be a great value for your money.

Pros: Perfect fit, nice bass response, loud sound without an external amplifier

Cons: Can distort at extremely loud volume

Low Quality Speaker

Written by: Trey R. from New Jersey on May 20, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers did help my mid-range sound quite a bit, which is what I was going for and why it got two stars compared to one. I used to love kicker and Crutchfield products but now this has me second guessing. They were connected to a aftermarket head unit not nearly close to the nominal power of these speakers and tonight I found one blown. They only lasted 5 months, I thought for sure I would get at least a few years out of them, but 5 months seems a little short. These aren't the cheap ones either, but I guess if you are looking at these spend the extra 30$ for higher quality speakers.

Pros: Helped my mid-range sound for the price, look great, that's it.

sounds great.. in my 2011 ram without nav or alpine setup.

Written by: steetHEMI from san saba, tx on March 10, 2015

bought these almost a year ago and loved them because i can have room to grow.) didnt really do the homework. and never instilled them due to (sold the vehicle that it was ment for) but i am glad i did. they sound amazing, had a slight rattle but thats due to the door (my audio guy fixed it, was a piece of hard plastic in the speaker hole.) didnt do anything else on my 2011 ram 1500 crew cab. without the nav, and alpine setup. will buy these again. for the rear doors

reason for the 4 stars is its not really a direct fit nothing major just had a bracket behind the speaker the magnet is a little bigger then factory. was a little off but my audio guy made it work without much effort. and it looks like factory instill.

Pros: sounds great for the money. doesnt sound garbage like the factory. very clear, and has room to go 150watts rms..

Cons: not a prefect fit due to a bracket behind the speaker. (the magnet is really big vs the factory) but close enough to call it good (maybe a quarter inch of gap or less.) and speaker looks normal thanks to my audio guy .. and my door panel goes on like normal.

Prior to buying these speakers, i was considering adding a small powered sub to the area behind my bench seat. After installing these in some small Sound Ordinance truck enclosures, I can add my name to the list of people who no longer feel like a sub is needed. Obviously, your mileage may vary depending on your vehicle, enclosures, etc, but even running without an amplifier, these speakers were loud, clear, and punchy. For the price, these speakers are a steal.

Pros: + Really awesome low end hit while not being muddy sounding + 6x9 enclosures are readily available so you can add these to vehicles that wouldn't ordinarily support them

Cons:

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I must say I am quite happy with this purchase. I did quite a bit of research before I bought these speakers, online and in my local automotive audio dealers. The sound quality is wonderful for the price that you get these speakers at. And the best part is that Crutchfield throws in the wiring harness at no extra charge, and free shipping. The only problem I had was I mounted the driver side door speaker upside down. In doing this the wiring harness got caught up in my powered window and ripped the positive (+), negative (-), board on the speaker. I called Crutchfield and they sent me a new set to replace the broken one with free return shipping. I will always buy all my future audio components from Crutchfield. Hands down has the best customer service. With the speaker replaced everything is great.

Pros: Great sound and great fit

2006 Dodge Ram 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The base 4 speaker system in my '06 Ram 1500 left a bit to be desired, specifically when it came to speaker clarity. The bass was "loose" and too boomy, midtones were muddy, and treble almost non-existent. These speakers fixed all of these problems - bass is now tight and clean, midtones are no longer muddy, and the treble is sharp and clear. You'll notice that you won't have to crank up the volume as much with these speakers, as they seem to be more efficient than the stock units. Great for those of us on a budget and wanting to do incremental upgrades. I am currently using the factory "REF" stereo - it drives these speakers just fine. Be sure to use the spacers from the factory speakers, so that these speakers will clear the window when it's rolled down. I'm looking at replacing the rear speakers next, as it is very apparent how crummy those speakers are now. The closest thing to a "con": speaker clarity is so vastly improved that you'll notice when you're playing poor quality mp3s, or listening to the radio when the reception is less than optimal, even with the factory head unit. Some people may find these speakers are less responsive for bass than the factory speakers. You'll lose the "boominess" of the factory speakers, but will be rewarded with clear, accurate, and tight bass. I'm surprised at the bass notes I'm hearing in my music now. These notes used to get completely lost or muffled with the boomy factory speakers. I highly recommend these speakers!

Pros: Quick and easy drop-in speaker upgrade. Excellent speaker warmth and clarity. Well-suited for the base factory "REF" stereo's power. Tight bass, sharp treble, clean mid tones. More efficient use of power compared with the factory speakers.

Cons: You'll want to replace the rear factory speakers after hearing the improvement these make up in the front.

I also bought the 6.5 matching CS-65 series speakers. My initial review of the 6x9's they sounded under powered, On a Sony GT565UP. Which lead me to purchase a A/B class amp - Kenwood 6406. The speakers under no amount of tuning are proportional or consistent under load. Lower frequencies sound horrible. They do not provide the amount of bass or quality I was expecting. I wouldn't even say its a modest amount. The factory paper speakers sounded 95% of what these do... I also later purchase a MINT JL 12w1v2 and a new box. Kicker has not eliminated the need for a subwoofer and concluded reviews look fabricated. I rewired the rest (entire) system in 14 Gauge wire and crimped terminal connectors... The recommendation as a factory replacement is far fetched and false advertisement. "Your 17 watt deck isn't pushing 150 watt RMS speakers, Sorry". - So the car experts recant that sold me the speakers... Honestly in my opinion and having spent 600+ chasing an admirable system. Steer clear of kicker! Ide recommend blaukpaunt 20$ 6x9 that are rated closer to the RMS of Stock units and even with the price difference 110% what these CS are.

Pros: You can sell them for 50$ and for 50$ buy better speakers. I still have some sparkle audio 6x9 from 1986 that hit harder sound better - so I can shelf or sell these kickers to another sucker. Tweeters are good you forget there is no mid and the lows are horrible

Cons: Over Priced Frequency response - Horrible bass @ Stock and RMS 150 Watts No audible improvement over lower end factory replacements that sound 50% better for 50% less. NOT a high performance factory replacement in general - false advertisement. Shallow bass, replication of deep bass is horrible. Your stock unit will sound like its going to blow the speaker at 4/5 of the load. It will not help you to go to RMS 150 watt or anywhere in the specified power spectrum. Tuning is poin

These speakers sound incredible at high and low volume. They are relatively inexpensive. I am not even driving them from an amp and they sound great and can handle quite a bit of bass even at high volume. The only problem I had, was the mounting holes were a little off from my OEM mounts, but it wasn't too bad mounting them. All in all I am very impressed with the quality of sound.

Huge Improvement - 2005 Honda Accord

2005 Honda Accord EX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I spent several days researching speakers prior to purchasing these Kicker's. Crutchfield's advisers were very helpful and taught me a few new things about how to seect the appropriate speaker.

I put a pair of these into the rear of my 2005 Honda Accord coupe. I chose them because they have a high sensitivity rating which was important since my stock deck isn't very powerful. They're also rated to have high highs and low lows, and have good reviews.

Thanks to other reviews, I knew that MY install would be slightly difficult. Although Crutchfield suggests these "will fit" my car, they don't mention anything about modifications needed. After dropping them in, I had to drill 2 new holes in each in order to bolt them down. I laid "caulk cord/rope caulk" down around the perimeter for a snug and vibration-free seal. Once they were bolted down I was in business, but then the grills didn't fit. I had to purchase a multifunction power tool to cut away a bunch of plastic from the inside of the grill - then they fit into place.

The improvement in sound quality from these speakers is night and day! They're crisp, loud and have excellent highs and lows - a massive improvement in my car. I've been contemplating installing a sub but with these Kickers I think it would be over-kill!

My only gripe is that the install was difficult despite CF saying they fit. I would've rather reinvested the power tool money into EVEN better speakers that fit with ease (if any exist).

Pros: Excellent sound reproduction High sensitivity, great for use with stock decks Better bass then I expected

Cons: Mounting holes didn't line up Taller speaker lead to stock-grill fitment problems

I bought these as a set of Kickers for my new mini cooper. I had polks DXI in my old car. I bought yellow CS 6x9's, 51/4"s and tweeter's. They seem to sound great and maybe a little better without any break in time yet. I have them with an Alpine head and power pack and JL mono amp and kicker 12 ported sub. I bought these to save money for now , and buy the expensive ones down the road. The kickers seem to sound very nice ! I'll break them in and play with setting them to my ears and the car for now. I may not need the expensive ones? The punch is good and clean sound from all the kickers. Ask me in a year....

Pros: quality seems nice and they fit as was told with all the goodies for the install.

Cons: none, good start if they last.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These 6x9 speakers replaced the stock rear deck speakers in my 2005 Accord EXL V6 non-nav. They were not a drop-in replacement as the 4 mounting holes did not line up perfectly with the holes in the rear deck. However, I knew this prior to purchase based on other reviews. Also, I had to modify the original speaker grills to make them fit because the kickers are taller than the stock speakers. No starts removed for these fit problems because I knew about them before the purchase. The sound was an immediate improvement from the stock speakers. Bass goes lower, is more controlled, and hits harder. A definite improvement over stock. I still have the stock front speakers and tweeters connected but I will be replacing the front door speakers with Kicker 6.5" coaxials (also purchased from Crutchfield but not yet installed). I did have to use some foam pipe insulation that I had laying around to stop some new rattles in the trunk after installation of the Kicker 6x9s. This is a result of the increased bass. I recommend these to anyone looking for an improvement over stock speakers who isn't using an aftermarket amp/receiver due to their efficiency.

Pros: Efficient, controlled bass, significant improvement over Honda stock speakers.

Cons: Not a drop-in replacement on the 7th gen Accord sedan.

Written by: Luke from Kansas City on August 25, 2014

These speakers aren't bad. I already had an alpine head unit, but no subs. These speakers are all treble, with decent mids, however contrary to the other reviews here, the bass was very disappointing. It was weaker than my factory speakers. Whenever I turn the volume up to even half way, the bass distorts and the front speakers buzz. I just ordered 2 12" subs, so I'm assuming once those get installed, these will sound much better, since I'll only use them for treble and mids. Good speakers, but don't buy them unless you have a sub... if you have a sub already, then these are for you, if not I would recommend Pioneer brand, they have way better bass for a mid range speaker.

The speakers themselves are great. What a difference compared to the factory units. Crutchfield harness fit as expected. However, the speaker's mounting holes are not the same as the car's. I could get only two of the holes to line up. The other two were off by about the hole diameter (new speaker bigger than old one). So I picked a diagonal pair to use for mounting. To keep the speaker from rocking or rattling, I stuck a bead of rubber around the perimeter of the speaker frame (some leftover sticky-back weather stripping). So far, so good.

Pros: Great sound.

I haven't got as far as putting an amp on them yet but I can only imagine how they would sound then I get plenty of Bass from the deck and no distortion what so ever they sound clear when you playing some Louis Armstrong or if you want some bass and playing some Dr Dre these speakers have a wide range of quality sound I put the 6x8 in the door

These are well made, rich sounding speakers that can upgrade a stock system all by themselves. Made a big difference in bass, overall volume level and stereo imaging.

Pros: Frequency response, efficiency, quality materials used. Should last a long time.

Cons: Could have included better mounting bolts & nuts. The speed nuts cracked as I used them so I used standard hardware store nuts & bolts for installation.

Beware the power sensitivity

Written by: Scott S from Anchorage, AK on March 14, 2014

Heads up--just because the speaker dimensions fit doesn't mean they will work well with the rest of your system. In my case, Crutchfield rep helped me select a pair of these Kickers, which sound fine, but their sensitivity is so much lower than the rest of my car's (OEM) speakers that they kickers get drowned. Only solution is to replace ALL of your car's OEM speakers at the same time--a costly proposition, and one which Crutchfield sales reps don't tell you at the time of sale. My new Kickers are now headed for Craig's List...

Pros: Price

Cons: Doesn't work well with the rest of my OEM system

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in a 2012 Chrysler 300C. They are a marked improvement over the stock speakers. Enhance the highs and mids that were not very "crisp" with stock. I was hoping the bass responce would be a little better, but they are not designed to be a sub-woofer so I dont think the speakers are to blame. All in all, I am very pleased with these speakers.

Pros: Nice crisp highs and mids. Improved bass response over stock.

Cons: Only three of the four screw holes lined up. Had to drill one on each side. This is the only reason I gave four instead of five. These are very good speakers.

Great sounding speaker and a great replacement for the rear door speakers on the 2014 Ram with Alpine system. They do NOT fit perfectly and require using the included screws to secure to the door panel instead of the OEM locations. This was not expected but was not a huge deal.

Great Speakers, Didn't really fit too well though

Written by: MikeB from Louisville,KY on February 28, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great speakers at a low cost, I mean they aren't going to sound super amazing, but for the price you pay they are definitely an upgrade over the factory speakers. The bass does get distorted the higher the volume goes, but I'm sure I could make them sing if I hooked them up to an amp.

My only complaint was that Crutchfield said this would fit in my 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic, not a modified fit, just a fit. Well that wasn't true... The bracket that holds the magnet in place was much bulkier than my factory 6x9 so it did not fit in the tear drop opening and it wasn't flush with the speaker grills that went over top. Needless to say I had to bend part of the opening to allow a wider opening. After that they were fine, but just something I wanted to note.

Pros: Great Sound, Low Price Sturdy design

Cons: Didn't not fit without modification from my end

2006 Honda Accord LX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the rear deck speakers in my 2006 Honda Accord Sedan. The original speakers were lightweights compared to the Kickers. The Kickers offer more bass and a brighter sound when adjusted via the original OEM receiver/ 6-CD changer. I like my tunes on the road, but I'm not going to drop a bundle on car audio. That being said, the Kickers are quite an improvement and within my modest budget.

Pros: Improved sound quality on a budget. Easy installation; with props to Crutchfield's MasterSheet re: Honda Accord. Thumbs up for including the OEM to aftermarket speaker adapters! Another reason to order from Crutchfield.

Cons: Two minor issues; I could only get two diagonal screws to line up on each speaker to match the holes on the Accord. I may address this when the weather warms up. Also the Kickers sit a bit higher in the Accord's rear deck recess. I had to trim the "oval" flange under the rear speaker grills with a dremel cut off wheel to allow the grills to pop into place..

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My son wanted good bass and I didnt want to go as far as amped Subwoofers. These were a perfect compromise! Bass reverberates throughout his 2000 Eclipse (speakers face each other), and the full range satisfies me that when he grows out of the bass craze that he will be able to enjoy REAL MUSIC!....smiling ...must admit that some of the bass heavy stuff he played for me was awesome and really showed what these speakers can do. Don't tell my son, but I saved a few bucks by going with the Scratch and Dent version and they arrived flawless to my eye. Not too often that a 47 year old and a teenager can brecollective thrilled with something, but we definately are!

Pros: Great Bass coupled with crisp mid and high range Heavy high quality materials Scratch and Dent arrived flawless

Cons: None

I was hoping for a good speaker and a reasonable price and these Kickers have exceeded my expectations. I had considered a higher end, more expensive, component speaker system but I based on the favorable reviews these speaker received on Crutchfield, I ended up choosing these Kickers and they sound great. I paired them up with a Sony MEX-GS600BT and they sound better than the Dodge Infinity premium audio system that they replaced.

Pros: The sound great for a variety of music at all volume levels. Excellent value for the price.

Cons: Screw holes in factory opening required re-drilling.

Kicker Ram 1500 (2014)

Written by: ET from Red Bank, NJ on January 17, 2014

I installed these in replacement of my factory speakers. These things kick butt! I like deep bass, and great hi tones as well, these speakers deliver! They actually sound so good with the deep bass it sounds like a sub is in the car. I installed these in my Ram 1500 doors, front and back on a Quad cab. A note about that: they fit right in on the back doors, had to tap one hole in the plastic to mount, no biggie, the front they hit the window track, not the window itself. So what I did was take a Dremel and cut off the little hole things off the grilles they came with, wasn't using the grilles anyway. They made for a perfect spacer between the speaker and the door, and thus not hitting the window track now. You will need the wire adapter Crutchfield supplies. Once installed these speakers work excellent with the factory 8.4 head unit, I also replaced the front dash speakers with Infinity Reference, the sound is awesome. The bass in these resonates in the vehicle just great! Highly, highly recommend.

Pros: Great, resonating bass, tweeters and mid sound great also.

Cons: None I can think of.

Great sounding speakers for the price. We installed them in my son's car to replace the original speakers which no longer worked. My son loves the sound and said they provide a lot of bass which is one of the things he was looking for.

Pros: Great sound at a good price

Cons: A template for drilling the installation holes would have been very helpful. The speakers could only be placed in the rear deck of the car for marking where to drill the holes from above. However, the only way to drill the holes was from below (up from the trunk) due to the back window being in the way. A cardboard or paper template would allow us to mark the holes from below.

A lovely unit. Nice strong bass but also heaps of treble to use. Heavy units which means you really want a good solid footing for them, but its a good sign that they have plenty behind them for either head unit or amp connection.
