The specially designed port gives you more bass without sounding sloppy.

Two hard-hitting CompR subs

Each 12” CompR subwoofer features a tough, polypropylene cone that stays rigid during intense play sessions so you hear accurate bass. A custom-designed back and top plate give the woofers plenty of room to travel, while the durable rubber surround helps to control cone movement during a heavy workout. These subs use extensive venting in their heavy steel baskets to shrug off heat, so you can count on reliable performance.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port enhances bass production without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier. This Kicker will handle up to 1000 watts RMS, so make sure you pick an amp that'll make those CompR subs happy.

Q
I HAVE AN ALPINE PDR-65 MONO AMP THAT IM PLANNING ON USING TO POWER THIS SET UP. THE AMP IS RATED AT 650 WATTS RMS. IS THIS GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS SUB BOX?
justin  Feb 27, 2016
1 answer
A
The 650 watts RMS from your Alpine amp is enough to power this enclosure very well but not enough to realize its full potential (1000 watts RMS). I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5

Q
What frequency should these 12's be set to on my crossover ?
adrian  Feb 24, 2016
1 answer
A
That depends greatly on the other speakers in your system and how low they are rated/crossed over to play. Ideally, you'll set the low pass for the subwoofers at or around the frequency you've set to high-pass your full-range speakers. I hope that helps! Q
I have a hifonic Brutus 1700 watt rms 3400 max will it be ok with these subs?
charrone  Feb 21, 2015
1 answer
A
I have a amp pushing at 700 rms and these things hit hard so your 1700 rms should be fine they won't over power the subs if you keep the amp turned down a little

Q
The Kicker 40KX1600.1amp seems ideal for this enclosure, I just wanted to get some other peoples opinions, because I'm not really as to which amp I should get for this encloser. Some people say you need to have it a little over powered, some say to just power it to where it says to. Im just not sure what to do man?

Q
How would this combo be wired?
eric  Feb 21, 2014
1 answer
A
The 40DCWR122 has a single wiring terminal out for wiring at 2-ohms. Since that's what the 12CX1200.1 operates at you'll go from negative on the subwoofer input to negative of the amplifier output and do the same for the positive. You should be all set from there!
kristina  Feb 25, 2014 (Staff)
Q
I bought these subs with a kit that included a 5000 watt mono class d amp. at 2 ohms it pushes 3200 watts is this okay or should I go with a smaller amp?
tyler  Jan 17, 2014
2 answers
A
A good rule of thumb for speakers is to get an amplifier that is up to twice the RMS of the speakers at the proper ohms. That amp will work perfect. It is better to over power speakers then under power them, that when speaker damage will occur.
matthew  Jan 28, 2014
A
Ideally you don't want to push more than 1,600 watts RMS to these subs. If your amp is pushing out more than that, you can always set the gain down. However, with an amp that is double the power, you might want to consider an amp that will be a closer match power wise.

Q
Can these be powered by a 800 x 2 amplifier, or would it need to be bridged into a mono?
jake lind  Dec 15, 2013
1 answer
A
The sub box has a single set of 2-ohm inputs. This will mean that you need to bridge a 2-channel amp. You will want to make sure your amp is 2-ohm compatible in mono.
