A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma
Kicker's 40TCWRT82 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 8" CompRT subwoofer behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.
Big bass from a CompRT sub
The 8" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.
Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.
- sealed truck-style enclosure with one 8" CompRT subwoofer
- 3/4" medium-density fiberboard construction covered with carpet
- 2-ohm total impedance
- power handling: 100-300 watts RMS (600 watts peak power)
- frequency response: 30-500 Hz
- sensitivity: 86 dB
- 9-1/8"W x 16-1/4"H x 5-3/8"D1 x 4-1/2"D2

Enclosed Subwoofers 101
An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.

Ease of Use
I have an 02 Jeep wrangler that needed some bottom end but I didn't want to give up what little space the Jeep has. When I opened the box I really didn't expect much because of it's size but after installation with a 450w Precision amp I was very pleased. Very good thump and still have lots of room behind the seat.
Pros: size, price and sound are the pros
Cons: Can't think of any cons
Ease of Use
This very small box sounds great. i would definitely use it - but it is just a bit too big for my front passenger footwell in my Porsche. Great value, great sound - would be great in most small cars for sure - but a bit too big for a footwell area
What's in the box?
- Sealed enclosure loaded with one 8" Subwoofer
- 4 Mounting brackets
- Four 1" Self-tapping pan head screws
- Eight 5/8" Self-tapping flat head screws
- Specification and mounting information

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals are mounted on the top of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual (standard 3/4" width) banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.
Woofers: The Kicker 40TCWRT82 enclosure uses one 8" CompRT subwoofer, wired to present a 2Ω load.
Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.
