Kicker's Comp subwoofers combine high performance with profound lows to enhance your vehicle's sound system without draining your wallet. The 07C104 10" subwoofer uses a rigid polymineral cone and double-stitched, ribbed foam surround to deliver strong bass from sealed or vented enclosures, and you can even use it in free air applications.

Kicker fortifies their Comp subwoofer with a rock-solid steel basket, and keeps it cool with perimeter venting. The famous Inverted Structural Dome design reduces cone flex that can lead to distorted output, so the Comp can handle plenty of power without blowing a gasket. Kicker rounds out this handsome sub with nickel-plated push terminals for quick hookup.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i have two of these installed in a 1.30 cubic foot dual chamber slot ported box running off a mtx 300 rms amp at 2ohms. they hit surprisingly well. i was impressed with them. and it is all running off of my factory head unit. would buy them again.

Decent Sub for the money

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought two of these subs on sale, which is a decent price for the money. Kicker's name was the reason that I bought the sub, and I have to say, for the price its pretty good. It does have a cheaper feel, but when powered with alpine's 500 Watt MRP- M500 amp, its definately adequate. In short, good sub for the money, but if you want a sub that'll rattle the windows off the car, go for a solobaric.

Great Sub

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sub sounds great. I added one of these to my 06 Sierra extended cab
to round out my music, and it did the job perfectly. It can pound hard if you
want it too, but its also not overbearing. I'm powering it with a Kicker
08DX100.2 amplifier and I believe the two to be a perfect match. If your
thinking about adding a sub to your system to get that full rounded feeling
in your music, I wouldn't hesitate to add 1 or 2 of these subs.

Good sub. Installed one in a 1.25 ft3 box and it sounds great. Will not rock the neighbourhood, but certainly puts out enough to shake the rear-view mirror.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great subs! They are very loud for their power rating. I bought two of them from Crutchfield during a special. I already have subs in my car, so these are a cheap solution to fill my room with loud bass.
They definitely handle more then they say. I have them hooked up to an old Kenwood receiver with a low crossover and they slam.
There totally worth the money.

Kicking KICKER

Written By Turbo, Raleigh, NC on Saturday, July 26, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The stock LEXUS subwoofer ( 10") was not doing its job at all. It was weak and wimpy. I replaced it with the Kicker and all I can say is WOW !

I also added a Profile HA700M 350 watts Amp. and now I have some real BASS

After some adjustments of the cross over point and volume, I can get just the amount and quality of bass I desire whether listening to rock, classical or whatever.

Bass is solid, well defined and plentiful enough to shake the rear view mirror. and you can feel it in the seat !

Put two in the back of my grand cherokee. Subs very loud and have a good sound. Great price.

Impressive--Pleasantly surprised

Written By Robert, Garner, NC on Monday, May 26, 2008

I have always used Kicker Solo-Barics in my vehicles. I saw the deal on
these and decided to get a couple. I mean two (2)
10" Kicker Subs for this price is kind of hard to beat. I was going to sell one
(1) and put the other in my daughetrs Honda. That way I could get my 8"
Solo-baric back and put it in my Dodge pickup.

Once I put this 10" in my daughetrs car, and heard the incredible sound--I
decided to see how small a box I could make for my truck and put the other
one in it.

The mounting depth isn't much different from the old 8" Solo-Baric I had.
The site says mounting depth is 5 1/16". However, it was less than 5". The
box is small and fits right in behind my seat with no problems. I mounted
the box on a double dynamated wall.

Once I fired this puppy up--I knew I made the right choice. This thing
delivers crisp, tight bass. In the small standard cab pickup truck--it is
incredible to say the least. And with a Kicker 300.1 Amp pushing it--you
can't get any better.

This is definitely the way to go when it comes to a good valued sub. I can't
imagine any other sub sounded as good as this one in my truck.

Did not want a box - free air was suggested

Written By Marco, Arlington, Va on Monday, April 14, 2008

I used the live chat on cruthfield - told him my story that I saw one of the car customizer tv shows use a sub with no box and bolted it in the car with no box - I was suggested this model - and a 300 watt amp to accompany it. well did not go for that specific amp but did go for the sub-I was looking for bass to compliment my sound and not to be like the teenager I was in the early 90's who wanted you to hear what I was listening to - it provided some great sound - especially with live recorded music - though it does work best with rock but still impressed with the unit! i have it in the trunk of a 1976 bmw 2002 screwed in upsidedown in the cover to the spare tire - just one. good buy for the price - bad thing is that eventhough it sounds great inside you might be tempted to go bigger and louder.

i installed a pair of these in my 2000 tacoma, and they hit pretty hard
i got these from a friend, that had em for a while, so they're not even brand new.

i have em in a ported box, w/ a 400 watt, 2chnl, amp.
and for 2 10's that arent rated for that much power
they are loud!!
i would recomend them, if ur looking for lower cost subs

Enclosure Compatibility

Cone Materials: The Kicker Competition woofer consists of a vacuum formed polymineral cone with an inverted structural dome (ISD), which remains rigid to minimize cone flex and lowers harmonic distortion. A rear cone brace integrates into the cone with a continuous contact perimeter weld, which offers unmatched strength and resistance to deformation under pressure.

Surround: The optimized Polyfoam-ribbed surround allows extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. The surround is double-stitched to the cone to add a mechanical fastener to the chemical adhesives. This prevents the cone and surround from separating in the harshest conditions.

Enhanced BAM (Basket And Motor) Assembly: The high-strength steel basket features a low-profile open design, and provides a solid foundation for the precision-aligned motor assembly. Perimeter venting in the BAM relieves pressure from under the spider, supports a linear excursion, and helps dissipate heat from the voice coil and motor structure.

Voice Coils: The ultra-strength voice coil sustains enormous cone excursion and provides extra heat dissipation. The high-temperature Polyimide Film voice coil former improves sonic and conductive properties, and prevents thermal-electrical meltdown.

Construction: The woofer features a two-piece vented hyper-extended blackened pole piece and backplate. This unique design provides the following benefits:

  • Optimizes heat transfer efficiency for cooler operation and maximum power handling ability.
  • Eliminates erratic magnetic flux from the voice coil gap.
  • Releases pressure under the suspension for uniform cone movement and responsive low bass.
  • Prevents the voice coil from bottoming out and corresponding damage.

Tinsel Leads: The woofer features high-power tinsel lead wires to resist breakage and power-robbing resistance losses due to the common use of "insufficient gauge" lead wires.

Speaker Terminals: The spring loaded, nickel-plated terminals provide solid connections for bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Enclosure Compatibility

Free Air Applications: Kicker Competition subwoofers can be very effective in an infinite-baffle (free-air) installation. You may need to reinforce the rear deck of your vehicle to support the weight of the subwoofer (3/4" MDF is recommended).

Recommended Sealed Box Volume:

  • Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 1.0 cu/ft; the woofer can handle up to 150 watts RMS
  • SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 2.4 cu/ft; the woofer can handle up to 150 watts RMS

Recommended Vented Box Volume:

  • Compact: 1.25 cu/ft; 1.5" x 10.5" port opening; 14.5" port depth; the woofer can handle up to 150 watts RMS
  • SPL/Deep Bass: 1.75 cu/ft; 1.5" x 10.5" port opening; 13.25" port depth; the woofer can handle up to 150 watts RMS

Note: The power handling specifications listed with the vented enclosure recommendations apply only when a 25Hz, 24dB/octave subsonic filter (sold separately) is used with this woofer. If a subsonic filter is not used, power handling may decrease, excessive port noise can occur, and the life of the woofer may be shortened.
