Kicker's space-saving 08TS10L54 enclosed subwoofer combines a road-ready 10" L5 subwoofer with a tough ported enclosure that's designed to fit in tight spots — an excellent bass solution for owners of pickups and compact vehicles.

The square Solo-Baric L5 10" sub delivers mammoth bass with its rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone and responsive Santoprene™ rubber surround. The patented cone design makes this sub one tough customer — it can handle loads of power while it churns out low notes without distortion.

The 08TS10L54 truck-style enclosure comes built to last with rugged 3/4" medium-density fiberboard construction. The strategically placed port increases bass response from the compact enclosure, and the tapered design allows it to fit comfortably into more pickups and compact vehicles.

Durable carpeting covers and protects the enclosure, and an embroidered Kicker logo highlights the carbon-fiber finish on the front panel. Spring post terminals offer a secure connection to your audio system.

Enclosed Subwoofers 101

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.

This sub is the bomb! I have a Kicker ZX2500.1 rated at 2700+ @ 2ohms. Still
haven't blown this sub! Tuned it just right! Works great!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed this sub in my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab paired with the Kenwood KAC 7204 amp. The sub hits hard and fills my very large cabin with bass. Overall very pleased with the sound, I would highly recommend this sub.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just bought this for my 2008 impreza, and it sounds fantastic! Everything shakes and rattles in my car. I took the advice in one of the previous reviews and paired it with the kenwood KAC-7204 amp, and for such a small sub, it pounds. I can't even crank the volume all the way up. Thanks to Lincoln and Crutchfield!

Great Buy

I have an '04 Dakota that I put an MTX thunderform setup in, but it just didn't hit hard enough and left me wanting more. So I wanted something that wasn't too expensive but would give me better bass. I took the advice of one of the reviewers below and paired this sub with the Kenwood KAC-7204 amp which, when bridged creates 500W RMS and is also fairly cheap. This sounds great and actually gives me a headache if i turn it up for too long. The build quality of the box seems pretty good and I am very satisfied with this product.

I want to say that this is one of the best speakers I have ever heard in a car. I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 and it really is pleanty of speaker for this car and fits great in the trunk. I have a MTX Jackhammer JH300 pushing 300 watts RMS to it and although you wouldnt be able to tell standing outside the car...sitting in it is a different story. If this speaker isnt enough voulme pounding heart stopping bass for you then your deaf to begin with. I couldnt be more pleased with the my purchases from Crutchfield. THANK YOU.

Great Buy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an awesome speaker. I put a kicker 500watt amp on it and it hardly didn't even drive it. It rattled my whole truck(in a good way). This is a great speaker and a great brand.

Great buy!!!

Just bought one of these and put it in a 06 reno hatchback. I am powering it with a Kenwood KAC-7204 amp and this speaker pounds. It's very clear and very hard hitting. I have had 2 12's that didn't sound as good as this 1 ten. You can't go wrong with buying one of these. Highly recommended!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just purchased this enclosure and paired it with a kicker zx300.1 watt
amp and put it in my 98 firebird hatchback the bass and spund quality is
just amazing. You would think I had more than one ten by the way it
sounds. If you have a hatchback this is definatly the right decision no
question about it kicker is still spectacular.

Second go with a more powerful amp

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ok... my first review was with a very weak amp. Now that I have installed a stronger amp to this sub/box combo I can give better insights.

The bass is so loud it actually broke my rear view mirror! I had to turn the bass down a little bit because my truck might fall apart. I have it bridged and it's running on 450 watts rms. At first I wanted two of these because I didnt know my amp as THAT weak.

One of these is ALL you really need for loud and deep bass. Kicker really knows how to rock your vehicle! Seriously because mine is falling apart because of the bass.

Trust me. This product is amazing.

Good box

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put this in my Altima coupe as the trunk is rather small and it gives me the bass that I was looking for, clean loud pounding bass; I was a bit surprised that an enclosure this small would shake you, but it does, this thing pounds. If you want deep bass you need a bigger enclosure than this but for reduce spaces this is just perfect.

Simply amazing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this a few weeks ago because my friend said it was really good. After it came in I hooked it up to my home/car audio setup to break it in. After about two weeks of soft playing... just wow! I put it in my 2001 Extended cab S10... now it is very underpowered (only 100 watts) but from what I can hear... It just simply slams! It's louder than my Infinity Referance 1250w!

I would reccomend anyone who likes loud bass and doesnt have much room for a big sub/box to get this. You wont be dissapointed.

Specifications Note

Enclosure: The enclosure is constructed from non-resonant 3/4" Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and protected by a layer of rugged catalyzed polyurethane. The enclosure is covered with dark gray carpet, except for the front baffle. It features a woven fiber covering with carbon-fiber look.

Dual Voice Coils: The woofer has two 2-ohm voice coils that are wired in series, presenting a 4-ohm mono load.

Square Design: By making the Solo-Baric square, Kicker is giving you the most possible cone area (or Sd) for a given size baffle, 16% to 20% more area than a conventional subwoofer. More cone area means the Solo-Baric L5 moves more air, resulting in louder, deeper bass.

Cone Materials: The square SoloKon design is a unique one-piece construction, using polypropylene material that moves as a lightweight piston, for improved control. The cone remains rigid, minimizing cone flex and distortion. A rear cone brace integrates into the cone with a continuous contact perimeter weld, which offers unmatched strength and resistance to deformation under pressure.

Surround: The tough, flexible Santoprene rubber surround has a long-throw, positive-roll design, which controls extreme cone excursion and is highly tear-resistant. The corners of the surround are ribbed to ensure linear cone motion. The surround is stitched to the reinforced cone edge, making separation between them virtually impossible.

Spider: The woofer is equipped with a wide poly-cotton spider which easily handles high cone excursions due to its increased diameter and unique shape.

Enhanced BAM (Basket And Motor) Assembly: The Solo-Baric L5 utilizes a high strength stamped steel basket which features a low-profile open design and provides a solid foundation for the precision-aligned motor assembly. Perimeter venting in the BAM relieves pressure from under the spider, supports linear excursion, and helps dissipate heat from the voice coil and motor structure.

Dual Voice Coil: The dual ultra length voice coils sustain enormous cone excursion and provide flexible impedance matching options. The high-temperature Polyimide Film Voice Coil former improves sonic and conducive properties, and prevents thermal-electrical meltdown. The voice coils are rated to 220° Celsius.

UniPlate Construction: The Solo-Baric L5 features a one-piece UniPlate construction with a vented hyper-extended pole piece and backplate. This unique design provides the following benefits:

  • Optimizes heat transfer efficiency for cooler operation and maximum power handling ability.
  • Eliminates erratic magnetic flux from the voice coil gap.
  • Releases pressure under the suspension for uniform cone movement and responsive low bass.
  • Prevents the voice coil from bottoming out and corresponding damage.

Tinsel Lead Wires: The sleeved, high-power tinsel lead wires eliminate broken leads and power loss, due to the common use of "insufficient-gauge" lead wires. The lead wires are terminated with multiple polymer-based strain-relieving mechanical fasteners.

Spring Posts: The spring posts will accept bare wire, banana plugs, dual banana plugs, and pin connectors.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker Solo-Baric L5 woofers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The high-performance suspension system makes the speakers very stiff "out-of-the-box". Approximately 2 weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A "broken-in" subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Specifications Note

Sensitivity: In the Features and Specs section, the sensitivity is automatically rounded down to 86 dB. The enclosure actually has a sensitivity rating of 86.3 dB.
