About the Kicker CK8

Buck Pomerantz

This kit delivers all the power and signal your system needs

Your amplifier needs hefty power and ground wiring in order to deliver the big power you want. Kicker's CK8 amp wiring kit includes the power, ground, turn-on, and signal wiring for any amplifier with a fuse rating of up to 60 amperes. This kit is suitable for an amplifier with a maximum output of about 400 watts RMS for a Class AB amp or about 600 watts RMS for a Class D amp.

Includes patch cable and speaker wire

The CK8 kit includes a 17-foot, 2-channel twisted pair patch cable that'll send the signal reliably from the receiver to your amp with minimal noise. Also, Kicker provides 40 feet of 16-gauge speaker wire, enough to take care of both the front and rear speakers in most installations. Kicker makes all their wires from oxygen-free copper so you can count on maximum power and signal transfer with minimum resistance or interference.

Customer Q&A

Q
Would this be a better option than the Crutchfield CK8 kit to hook my JBL Club 704 amp up to my JBL Club 9630 6"x 9" 3-way speakers?
chris  Jan 02, 2018

A
Their power wiring should perform the same. The biggest difference in these kits is that the Kicker model comes with one set of RCA audio cables. I notice you are using a 4 channel amp. If your setup will need 2 sets of RCA audio cables, then getting the Crutchfield wiring kit will give you the ability to order 2 matching sets of RCA audio cables for the amp. If your install will only need one set of RCA cables, then the Kicker wiring kit works. HTH! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

Q
Would this kit be enough to power the kicker 12CX600.1 amp?

We actually recommend the step-up kit from this for the CX600.1 amp. You can find that kit here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206CK4/Kicker-CK4.html

yea just cut off like 1/2inch of the rubber off

On the power wire, you have two grey sleeves about an 1.5" long each with a 2" or so gap between. I believe these two sleeves were added to keep the black mesh from unraveling. You will cut between the two grey sleeves and add the inline fuse there. Be sure to trim back some of the mesh with scissors so the wire fits into the fuse openings easier...it's a snug fit! Tighten the allen screws and done!

Yes. Cut about 6 inches to a foot behind the ring terminal connector and install the fuse box there.

I cut mine between the two close heat shrinks to mount the fuse.

Yes you do. Also keep the fuse close to the battery. (Within 18 inches would do)
leandro  Feb 06, 2015
A
Yes.. some people like to have it by the speaker but it is best to have it as close to the power supply as you can..
josh  Feb 06, 2015
A
Yes you have to cut through the power cord to install the fuse. I bought the same product and just screwed my fuse about 2 feet from the battery. I hoped this helps!
