Product Research

Features

Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation. The boot is removable if needed for tight installations.

Break-in Period: The high-performance suspension system makes the speaker very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately 2 weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 0.8 ft³ to 3.0 ft³.

Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Kicker recommends ported enclosures in the following range:

  • Minimum Enclosure Volume: 1.25 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2" x 20" slot port
  • Maximum Enclosure Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 20" slot port

Customer Q&A

4 questions already asked

Q
Will this work well in an open-air type installation (rear deck over trunk)?
ryan  Aug 31, 2022
1 answer
A
This Kicker CompVR 43CVR102 10" sub sadly is not rated for free air use, Ryan. Now that being said results in a rear deck location may vary due to a few variables. Kicker states that max ported volume is around 1.75 cu feet, any space larger than that might not sound good. These particular subs actually perform better in a sealed enclosure. I'm not sure what kind of wattage you are looking to push, but you could consider this option below. This Kicker 45KMF104 10" sub in the link below is a marine model. Most marine subs are designed for free air use, and that's why we see less RMS ratings on them This Kicker marine might be an option for you, and will sound great in a free air environment. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_206KMF104/Kicker-45KMF104.html

Q
What size speaker wire do these speakers need when punning a pair in series/parallel configuration to a 600w peak amp?
stephan  Nov 16, 2020

A
I ran 10 gauge. Peak power means nothing regarding your amp. RMS powers is what is important. Sounds to me that your amp will have a hard time trying to push your subs

Q
I just purchased two of these. I'm a little confused on what amp I need to push them?

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
