Dual voice coils for wiring flexibility

The sub's dual 2-ohm voice coils give you more wiring options when setting up your system. The sub's cool-looking black finish highlights the potent low end you'll hear and feel.

Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible.

Product Research

Features

Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation. The boot is removable if needed for tight installations.

Break-in Period: The high-performance suspension system makes the speaker very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately 2 weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 1.6 ft³ to 4.6 ft³.

Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Kicker recommends ported enclosures in the following range:

  • Minimum Enclosure Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 12-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 20" slot port
  • Maximum Enclosure Volume: 2.25 ft³ with a 12-1/2" x 3" x 20-1/2" slot port

Q
Good day... will the kicker key 500.1 can handle this if i go to 1 ohm load?
lynch  Jan 16, 2024
1 answer
A
The Kicker Key Mono 500.1 is 1-ohm stable Lyndon but delivers 500-watts per channel into that impedance and would overpower the Kicker 43CVR122 12"'s RMS maximum of 400-watts, I would not advise this pairing. If you want to use the Kicker Key Mono amplifier, use the CompR 48CWR122 in the link below that can be wired to 1-ohm and can handle 500-watts RMS. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20648CR122/Kicker-CompR-48CWR122.html

Q
Will 11 1/8 work mounting diameter?
lucas  Apr 30, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Lucas, and thank you for your question. The Kicker CompVR 43CVR122 needs a minimum cutout of 10.934 inches, so your 11 1/8th will, be fine.

Q
I have an Interfire T-270 Amp. It is a 900watt amp and on the box it says 2 Ohm at 14.4V (MAX) 250W x 2. Also says the same but in RMS instead of MAX but instead at 160 x 2. When it comes to this stuff I'm illiterate. Is this a good amp to move just one of this type of sub?
