About the Kicker CompRT 43CWRT102

Bob Bihlmayer

A thin sub with fat bass

If you're looking for bass for a tight space, Kicker designed their CompRT subs with compact cars, pickup trucks, and ATVs in mind. The low-profile 43CWRT102 10” subwoofer performs just like a full-size sub, but without killing all your cargo space. This high-performance CompRT sub stands less than 3-1/2" tall, so your installation options are wide open.

Built with boom in mind

The 43CWRT102 comes equipped with a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Made to work with many systems

This sub handles up to 400 watts RMS so make sure you've got a solid amp to power it. You can wire the dual voice coils for either 4- or 1-ohm total impedance, giving you more wiring options when setting up your system. This versatile sub sounds great in sealed or ported enclosures.

Important Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for low impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. You can damage or destroy your amp by exceeding recommended minimum impedance.

Product Research

Features

Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Shallow-Mount: Kicker's CompRT series is designed to minimize depth, giving you subwoofer options where standard enclosures don't fit. The vent-less, solid-pole design allows the woofer to be mounted directly against the rear wall of a sealed enclosure.

All-Weather: Although not marine certified, Kicker describes the CompRT series as weatherproof.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 0.4 ft³ to 1.25 ft³.

Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Kicker recommends ported enclosures in the following range:

  • Minimum Enclosure Volume: 1.25 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2" x 20" slot port
  • Maximum Enclosure Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 20" slot port

Customer Q&A

9 questions already asked

Q
will this sub fit in a 5 1/2" mounting depth?
andrew  Sep 27, 2020
1 answer
A
Yes it will. My sub box was only 4.5" depth and they barely fit maybe 1/8th inch to spare.
stephen  Sep 27, 2020
Q
Will these fit a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Double cab?
john  Jul 24, 2020
1 answer
A
With correct box yes. Checkout the qlogic boxes. Dont think Crutchfield sells them though. Make sure to check air capacity and depths before you order but these should work with any qlogic box. Make sure to put in correct cab size when looking at box.

Q
displacement in ft^3?
aaron  Nov 24, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi Aaron, thank you for your question. For the vented enclosures the displacement of the port must be calculated and added to the internal volume of the final design. Use the outer dimensions of the port and multiply "X x Y x Z", then convert to cubic feet. The CompRT10 Vented Minimum design's external port dimensions are, using 314" (1.9cm) MDF: (1 0.5" + 1 .5" total MDF wall thickness) x (2" + 1 .5" total MDF wall thickness) x (20") x (1 fP I 1728 in3 ) = .49 ft3. Then, you will add this number to the internal volume of the enclosure. 1.25 ft3 + .49 ft3 = 1. 7 4 ft3. Your port displacement would be 1.74ft3, if you were using the minimum vented box requirements for this subwoofer. Hope this helps, Aaron. Chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, if you need any additional assistance.

Q
with a 1000 watt amp would i be chancing blowing the subs or if i ran two of these subs in a shallow mount box?
leighton  Apr 14, 2018

A
You will more than likely need more than just a 1000 for these subs.
zac  Apr 24, 2018
A
Depends on how you run the amp and which set of subs, this particular sub(dual 2 ohm voice coils) is rated between 300 and 600 watts RMS at 1 or 4 ohms.
vincent  Apr 24, 2018

Which 1000 watt amp?
jamal hafeez  Apr 24, 2018
A
I have a 1200w rated (more like 1600w) mono amp running 600w to each of these speakers in a shallow mount box under the seat of my Silverado. I've had no issues, but I don't have the gain turned up much! I also have a gain control knob off of the amp set to 1/2. Hope this helps!
darren  Apr 24, 2018
A
I'm running a single one on a 1100 watt amp in a tuned enclosure. Just make sure your amp and stereo are set correctly. It can handle a ton of power but you do see a drop off in performance if you push it way too hard. Still, this single 10 in the right box and enough power sounds amazing!
dustin  Apr 24, 2018
A
I'm no expert, but I would say not too much. I think the rule of thumb is 75-150% power. It also greatly depends on if the amp you're looking at is 1000 watts at 1 ohm, 2 ohms, or 4 ohms, because you would have the choice of wiring two of these as 1 ohm or 4 ohm.
