The specially designed port gives you more bass without sounding sloppy.

Two hard-hitting CompS subs

Each 10" CompS sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone for hard-hitting lows without distortion, with a ribbed foam surround that promotes long excursion and helps to keep the cones on target. A heavy-duty steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port enhances bass production without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The single pair of spring post terminals is mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual (standard 3/4" width) banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

2Ω Load: The two subwoofers are internally wired to present a 2Ω load.

Woofers: The Kicker 40DCWS102 enclosure uses two 10" CompS subwoofers for loud, great-sounding bass.

  • Ribbed Surround: The optimized ribbed polyurethane helps eliminate flex and distortion.
  • Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The durable Spiralead tinsel leads are woven into the woofer's spider, for added strength and reliability.
  • Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The steel basket's vented pole piece and Kicker's Quad Venting slots contribute to the woofers' efficient cooling and durability.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompS speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Q
can i use a kicker cx600.1 on these subs?

A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
how much does it weigh?
aidan  Jul 11, 2016
1 answer
A
The package weight that's shipped to you is 61 lbs. (including the box it comes in). Kicker doesn't provide the weight of the 40DCWS102 by itself, but it's likely 1-2 lbs. less than the total package weight. I hope that helps. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=159

It does not appear that this box is available separately. However, you can find a dual 10" ported box here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777BB1021V/Sound-Ordnance-Bass-Bunker.html?tp=61651

Q
Do box have to be ported for comp 10..to get the deep rumble?
willie  Jan 31, 2015

A
Willie, I'm no expert but I purchased this set back in August of 2014 and I love it. It certainly gets the job done. I feel that it does have the deep rumble that you speak of but please note that this is my first sub woofer purchase. I am very pleased with it.
jacob d.  Feb 04, 2015
A
I don't think its that important. In my experience, it's the material the speakers are made of that effect the sound the most. The harder speaker material, gives "deeper" or a lower rumble. But that being said, the ported box does give the speakers a "boomier" sound. On really heavy bass notes a ported box will give a more loud heavy echoing hit. In my opinion, I think ported boxes make speakers sound better only if they are in SUV or hatchback. A trunk kind of mutes the tone.
samuel  Feb 01, 2015

A ported box will definitely give you a nice rumble. You can get it pretty deep but if you want to go further, try the 12 inch sub version.

Q
Should I hook this dual 10 inch sub to a Kicker 11DX125.2,,,, a 250 watt amp?
anne  Jan 08, 2014
1 answer
A
That amp would not be a good match for this enclosure. This enclosure is wired for 2-ohm mono operation, and that amplifier is not designed to handle such a load. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
