Kicker's 40DCWS102 loaded enclosure puts a pair of thumping 10" CompS subs behind your music. The rugged ported box was designed specifically for the subs, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.
The specially designed port gives you more bass without sounding sloppy.
Each 10" CompS sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone for hard-hitting lows without distortion, with a ribbed foam surround that promotes long excursion and helps to keep the cones on target. A heavy-duty steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.
Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port enhances bass production without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.
I am a young college student who loves loud quality sound with a small budget. These subs were perfect for me. I installed them myself with its matching Kicker amp and it sounds and feels great. The build quality is excellent and i don't have to worry about damaging these subs at all. They fit nicely into the trunk of my 2001 Honda Civic. i put 2 amps on top and still have plenty of space in the trunk and the color matches very well. It fills the low ends even on a low volume, and can make my car shake at loud volumes.
Pros: build quality easy installation/wiring
For the money....... What more do you need. Sounds great. I bought it with the matching kicker amp. I've got it hooked up In my ole daily driver 2004 civic. For my car it's the perfect amount of bass. I've got the amp turned down low and it sound amazing. If I turn the amp up over halfway, it will more than likely blow ear drums
Pros: Price Size, fits well in civic trunk Easily installed
Cons: None , if you need more bass.... Then buy 12"s... And earplugs :)
This sub can be very loud when you push it to be loud. Although mine is a recent purchase and instal, needing some time to break in, I am completely satisfied with this sub. Using a Kenwood Excelon XR900-5 amp to power it with the LPF set to about 80Hz, this sub hits the lows well and hard. This sub can be heard from a fairly good distance but I did not buy it for that purpose. I wanted one that could hit lower notes while maintaining quality compared to previous sub and my advisor suggested this over my previous thought. Not much bigger than my previous JBL GT5-1202BR but more sensitive and hits lower. Overall, completely satisfied with purchase.
Only 2 minor downsides for me. 1. No grills or protection on front end of any sort. Not a huge issue for me as I rarely use the trunk anyway. 2. I would have preferred the covering to be black than grey to look better and match trunk interior.
Pros: Loud and powerful. Hits lows well without distorting Not too big as it can fit in my Honda Hefty feel so quality is there
Cons: Minor for me, might be bigger for others: No speaker grills for protection Grey covering (I'd like black instead)
Great product at an even greater price!
Pros: Sound quality, price!
Pros: loud and great sound
excellent subwoofer, sounds better than the sound ordinance b24 which I had previously
First I'm not a teenager so I don't need a sub that is loud enough to hear me coming a mile away. However, I am sure this sub could do it. Fits perfectly in the Challenger. Matches perfectly with the Kicker amp.
Pros: Great fit and look to match the challenger.
Cons: I would have put some speaker grills over the speakers to prevent anything from banging into them. That's just my opinion.
This Kicker Sub lives up to it's name. Even with an over powered amp they performed well. No noticeable distortion was heard. I mounted the subs in the rear of my 1995 Mitsubishi Diamante. A great fit! Love them!!
Pros: A great product.
Cons: None comes to mind.
|Woofer Size (inches)||10 x 2|
|Pieces in System||1|
|Second Depth (inches)||13-5/8|
|Connector Type||Spring post|
|Frequency Response||30-500 Hz|
|Power Range (Watts RMS)||100-600|
|Parts Warranty||1 Year|
|Labor Warranty||1 Year|
Speaker Terminals: The single pair of spring post terminals is mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual (standard 3/4" width) banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.
2Ω Load: The two subwoofers are internally wired to present a 2Ω load.
Woofers: The Kicker 40DCWS102 enclosure uses two 10" CompS subwoofers for loud, great-sounding bass.
Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompS speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

It does not appear that this box is available separately. However, you can find a dual 10" ported box here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777BB1021V/Sound-Ordnance-Bass-Bunker.html?tp=61651 [ Jeff Aug 31, 2015 ] Staff

Willie, I'm no expert but I purchased this set back in August of 2014 and I love it. It certainly gets the job done. I feel that it does have the deep rumble that you speak of but please note that this is my first sub woofer purchase. I am very pleased with it. [ Jacob D. Feb 04, 2015 ]
I don't think its that important. In my experience, it's the material the speakers are made of that effect the sound the most. The harder speaker material, gives "deeper" or a lower rumble. But that being said, the ported box does give the speakers a "boomier" sound. On really heavy bass notes a ported box will give a more loud heavy echoing hit. In my opinion, I think ported boxes make speakers sound better only if they are in SUV or hatchback. A trunk kind of mutes the tone. [ Samuel Feb 01, 2015 ]
A ported box will definitely give you a nice rumble. You can get it pretty deep but if you want to go further, try the 12 inch sub version. [ Mark David Feb 01, 2015 ]
Yes i belive so [ JEREL D Jan 31, 2015 ]

That amp would not be a good match for this enclosure. This enclosure is wired for 2-ohm mono operation, and that amplifier is not designed to handle such a load.
