For the money spent, these are good speakers. I have 2 sets in my car, and they are the only speakers. Don't expect big bass, but they really have perked up my commute with much clearer sound than factory ones.

Pros: Clean sound, good price

Replace factory cobalt speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cannot reuse existing speaker brackets but these fit perfectly in vacated spot of old speakers. Drill four new holes and they drop right in. Suggest waterproofing new speakers on back side as the cars doors seem to leak water right on speaker area . They sound a lot better than the factory originals. Have never had any problems with crutch field products or delivery.

Great speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these speakers to replace the factory Infinity System in my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Only replaced the front speakers, but will probably buy another pair to replace the back one's as well. These speakers have great sound, and were real easy to install. I did have to drill some new holes in the door, but that was minor and not a problem at all. They have been installed for several months now and the sound is still clear and amazing as if I had just put them in.

Pros: Great sound, the install gear worked perfect.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these speakers as a christmas gift, in both the doors and rear deck of my daughter's Saturn coupe. I paired them to a Pioneer head unit only producing 14 watts RMS per channel. The sound quality at all listening levels is OUTSTANDING! No sub and no ext. amp and this system will shake your gut and vibrate the mirrors! The sound is crisp and clear with tight solid bass. Couldn't be more impressed for a mere $200 total! Crutchfield demonstrated once again why they are the only place to buy car audio. The supplied wiring adapters for both speakers and player were exactly right for the vehicle. They even supplied a new center console adapter that made everything look perfect, at no extra cost! Saved hundreds over system install by local supplier.

Pros: Perfect fit of hardware and adapters. Sound is AWESOME!

Cons: Don't want to get out of the car and come in the house!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers to replace the factory speakers in all four doors of my 2009 GMC Sierra. I had alot of skepticism about how these speakers would sound after reading so many reviews that gave negative impressions about the bass capabilities. I'm glad to say that my fears have been put to rest. These speakers sound great! Especially with the highs and midrange frequencies. I'm hearing details never heard before in songs that I've listened to for years. And as for the bass notes, well they surpassed the performance of the stock speakers that I thought were very exceptional for a base audio system. I'm still pushin these speakers with the factory head unit and they sound great. I listen to a wide variety of music such as country, rap, top 40 and hard rock and with a tweak of the EQ it all sounds great. My only reason for not giving this review a full 5 star rating was the miserable fasteners that come with these speakers. That was one item that was given a poor review by alot of customers and I now know why. In order to make a good seal on my speakers (speakers to door panel and speaker bracket to door frame), I bought some extra installation supplies, which were a roll of caulking cord and a 10' roll of sponge rubber weatherstrip. I used the caulking cord underneath my speaker brackets to get a better seal to the door frame and I covered the speakers circumference with the sponge rubber weatherstrip to ensure a tight seal to the door panel. This purchase was a success!!!

Pros: The excellent sound quality and the awesome value.

Cons: TERRIBLE FASTENERS SUPPLIED WITH THE SPEAKERS. I RECOMMEND BUYING SOME FASTENERS FROM YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. In my case it was only the size of the screws that were supplied (too small in diameter). But if you have to use the flimsy metal wing-nut type fasteners, you may wanna break something before your finished :-)

I bought these speakers just to upgrade from the stock speakers and they sounded great...for the first month or so. Over the next few months I noticed they didn't sound as clear. After about three months they rattled and sounded terrible. The cone had completely separated. Overall not impressed.

Pros: Sound quality

Cons: Lifespan

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The factories in my Honda Ridgeline actually sounded decent, so I held off on replacement. I finally decided to buy these Kickers for the front and rear doors. AWESOME!!! I shouldn't have waited sooo long. Total full range sound imersion. They have plenty of low range punch for 6.75's, but I have a well powered aftermarket head unit...guessing some folks who say they lack bass may be using a low wattage factory head unit, since they do need just a little more juice to move them. I am COMPLETELY satisfied and totally recommend them.

Pros: Extremely clean and detailed sound from high to low! Easy install with Crutchfield's kit.

Cons: I read the other reviews complaining about the screws that come with the speakers. Seriously....would you rather get awesome speakers and have to pick up a $1.39 pack of screws at the hardware store....or get mediocre speakers that come with a really nice pack of screws. Think about it.

These are good replacement speakers. They were easy to install with little modifications. I read the reviews before hand and didnt try to use the supplied hardware. Bass is not great, but good enough for the factory head unit.

Pros: Ease of install.

Cons: Bass is just ok.

Great sound / cheap mounting hardware

Written By Nick, Fort Smith, AR on Saturday, August 18, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got theses speakers for my daughters 05 Chevy Aveo. The instruction sheet provided made quick work of the installation and the speaker sound really good. What kept me from rating 5 stars is the unbelievably cheap mounting hardware that Kicker supplies. When attempting to use the speed nut, it actually split. After a trip to the hardware store to get the correct length and diameter screws to use in the factory, finishing the install was a breeze. I have never purchased Kicker products before and I love the sound produced, but wish Kicker would spend the extra fifty cents and send better hardware.

Pros: Terrific crisp sound, with bass you can feel without the "boomy" sound of cheaper materials. I just listened to some instrumental Trans-Siberian Orchestra and then vocal music with Josh Groban, but was very pleased with the quality of sound from both sources.

Cons: Really cheap hardware. I suppose Kicker expects everyone to have installation gear available, not really an option for a middle aged man who installs a set of speakers every couple of years. It would be great if they invested a dollar or two on speed nuts that worked.

solid choice

Written By Glenn D, Jefferson, GA on Thursday, August 09, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

based on reviews and Crutchfield recommendation, these are a solid choice in the price range. They replaced the door panel speakers in a 2003 Toyota Sienna which were rotted and torn. Installation was more easily accomplished than I expected thanks to the MasterSheet provided.

Pros: good lows. the distortion is gone. (there are no highs because the Sienna uses a crossover to eliminate the high frequency from this speaker.)

Cons: the extra included harness did not work. I cut off the old harness and soldered them to the wires included in the box.

Near Perfect for my little Saturn

Written By B-rian, Troy, OH on Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, these speakers are very well built. The first thing I noticed was how large the magnet was, compared to the stock speakers. The stock speakers actually had more travel (i.e. larger voice coil), but they just didn't have the magnet power to effectively produce the low notes, especially at high volume. Getting the speakers in was not too bad, I didn't have any major issues. Just to show how strong the magnet is, when I pulled the stock speakers out they latched onto the metal of the door frame, and it was fairly easy to pull off, but with the Kicker's it took two hand and quite a bit more force to remove the speaker from the metal. These speakers definitely kick. They don't have the low-low rumbling bass of a sub, or of a well ported 8 inch speaker, but with the speaker baffles in place, they provide more than enough bass, and they accurately reproduce the low frequencies. If you looking for the kind of bass that rattles your car, get a sub. My only complaint about these speakers is the amount of treble produced. On my system I really have to crank back the treble, and these speakers don't have the voice coil size to reproduce enough bass to counteract it. All in all, these are great speakers, very loud-due to the high sensitivity, so a standard head unit is more than sufficient. If you want a sub these speaker are also great, can reproduce enough high range to match the most bass heavy systems. I would definitely recommend these speakers.

Pros: Loud, very clear and crisp highs and deep lows, would definitely recommend speaker baffles (gives you a more focused bass)

Cons: High range can be too much at times, average voice coil size

Great speaker

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After adjusting my head unit, I am more than satisfied with the sound. Great improvement over factory ones. I would have given five stars but the hardware from kicker is pretty poor. The speed nuts included slice your fingers or break in half (or both). I had some left over from another installation and used those to complete the job. I have been doing this a long time, but these things are worthless.

Pros: Good dynamic range. Clear.

Cons: Crappy mounting hardware

Sound great, and at a great price!

Pros: -Wiring adapters included, so no splicing. -Holes matched up perfect with my 350z. -Sound great for the price.

Cons: -I couldn't use the grills, but that is not the fault of kicker. -My stereo sounds weird to me because I haven't had rear sound in so long!

Great Speakers to Go With Subwoofer

Written By Caleb M., Jacksonville, AL on Monday, June 18, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced all four stock speakers in my '01 Tundra with these. Not much bass, but that was what I wanted to go with my setup. When I have my subwoofer going, you can still hear what is going on in front of it. Cuts through the rumble of the sub. Wasn't too thrilled about the booklet included with my speakers being a book about what sizes all of Kicker's speakers are. I was hoping for a little bit of instructions with them just in case I, or anyone else needed them.

Pros: Price, Clarity,

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speakers were a great replacement for 17 year old speakers which were "drying out". Fit perfectly, although I had to modify the length of the wiring harness. This is due to the Kicker speakers having the positive & negative terminals 180 degrees apart. I would highly recommend these speakers for the price.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers for my 2007 GMC Sierra. The directions for removing the door panels from Crutchfield were excellent. The sound is just about the same as the factory speakers...maybe a little better but it gets the job done if you don't want to spend a lot of money. Crutchfield included brackets with my purchase for my type of vehicle. I had to snip off the inner mounts for the speaker to fit flush which was no big deal.

i am very happy with these speakers. I was looking for simple replacements for my stock speakers after one died. They sound at least as good as the factory speakers, probably better. Good bass response and don't sound hollow or flat at most volume levels. At this price what more could you really ask for.

Pros: Fit the opening with no modification. Good sound for the price.

Great upgrade to factory speakers

Written By Linden, Knoxville, TN on Thursday, May 17, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced the worn out and crumbling stock Infinity speakers in my old off-roading 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited with these, front and rear. It required simple drilling for new screw holes, but otherwise, installation was super easy. Everyone's taste is subjective, but these are nice sounding speakers to my ears. You won't mistake them for subwoofers, but they have a nice amount of bass and a definitely some kick when turned up loud. My Jeep has a V8, high-flow cat, and a Flowmaster 40 series (the loudest street-legal muffler they make), and these Kicker speakers, paired with the JVC KD-X50BT, play nice and loud over top of the rumble of the V8 and the whine of my Super Swamper SSR's on the highway. I can't say enough good things about how much these speakers improved my system. These are a great little set of speakers without breaking the bank.

Pros: Great sound, Easy install with Crutchfield wiring harnesses.

Cons: Had to drill new mounting holes to fit them in my Jeep (not difficult at all, just made installation take a bit longer)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used these to replace my factory speakers in my 07 KIA Optima. VERY CRISP SOUND! and has good detail. But to get the best out of these speakers, you need to have a subwoofer to suplament the poor bass in these speakers. If you don't want to deal with adding a sub and you want good bass, I HIGHLY suggest going with Alpine.

Pros: bang for the buck, crisp mids and highs

Cons: bass could be better

Great overall

Written By BG, Springfield, MO on Thursday, May 10, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These Kicker speakers have worked out great. I love the sound and and clarity, and they destroy the standard stock speakers in my truck. I have read other comments about them not having bass, but I disagree. They have good bass for a 6-3/4 inch speaker. I would definitely recommend going with the 6-1/2 if you are looking for ease of installation, because they come with a bracket to make install easier. However, if you are somewhat handy you can get away with the 6-3/4 and install them yourself.

I installed these on my 01 GMC Sierra in the front door and will be getting another pair of these to go in my back doors. It took me a little over an hour to take out the old ones and put in the new ones. I got great help from the install team technician. I installed them in my doors by using some self tapping screws and attaching them directly to the metal in my door. They work great!!!

Pros: good clean, crisp sound Great customer service

Cons: None

Great speakers for the price. Fit perfectly into the factory holes. Sound a ton better than the old jvc's that were mounted. Crutchfield has always been there to help me out although I've never needed it. They included the stock plugs although when I took things apart the plugs were already cut, thanks anyways Crutchfield! I'm a return customer and I suggest these guys to everyone.

Pros: Lows bump to 40kz, easy to install, would look good surface mounted, sound good stock mounted, they out perform my stock component speakers

Cons: I didn't use any of the mounting hardware included so there may there may be 1 or 2 issues but none to my knowledge at this point

Sounds Great but Lacks Quality Hardware

Written By Charge, CA on Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakdrs sound great. They sound the way I hoped they would however the mounting hardware that came with the speakers was lacking quality. My car did not come with nut inserts so I had to use the ones that came with the speakers. Every one of the nut inserts from the speaker broke in half. I had to go to the local hardware store and buy better ones. This was very frustrating when in the middle of an install.

Pros: Sounds great!!!

Cons: Mounting hardware (nut inserts for screws) lacking in quality and had to be replaced.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory speakers in my 2001 Chevy with these. I am quite satisfied with the results. Installation was easy but I did have to drill holes and the clips and screws that they give you are crap. I bought some machine bolts and used them. The wiring harness they send with the speakers is great. You can just plug them in. No extra wiring needed. Extremely clear speakers with awesome sound. The thump of the bass is less than my factory speakers which is lacking and I don't really like but maybe its just because my factory speakers were worn out. Excellent speakers for the price. Again, I am very satisfied.

Pros: Good Price, Easy Wire Hookup, Good sound for the money, excellent customer service and website design at Crutchfield,

Cons: Mounting screws and clips are crap

Pros: easy to install and sounds great out of the box.

Cons: screws that came with speakers that mounts to bracket was too long.

Awesome Speakers

Written By J-rad, MN on Saturday, March 10, 2012

These are an awesome pair of speakers! I put them in the front doors of my truck and they blow the 14 year old speakers away! People say the bass isn't that good but I beg to differ. I have them powered by a Kenwood head unit, no amp and they hit pretty damn good for speakers. I can only imagine if an amp was powering them! If you are looking for body shaking bass you need and sub and can't expect to get that from a pair of speakers. For the money you can't go wrong with these babys!

Pros: Awesome bass (at least with the right headunit), mids and highs are great too!

Cons: None as of right now.

Put these speakers in a 2006 Honda Civic (doors and back panel). These speakers are a quantum leap over the factory speakers. The sound is crisp and clear with plenty of punch in the mid and high ranges. The bass is good, but if a strong bass punch is what you want, a subwoofer would probably be a good addition.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to upgrade my car audio without breaking the budget. These speakers were definitely a budget saver. I drive a 2006 PT Cruiser base model. I replaced my dash, front, and rear factory speakers. If you drive a PT Cruiser you would not be disappointed if you purchase these kickers. I had to do a little fabrication for the speakers to fit but it was no biggie. I would suggest to go with the 6.5 inches because the adapter that Crutchfield provide would fit perfect. The 6.75 inches doesn't come with the adapter. I also purchased the JVC ARSENAL KD-AHD79 head unit and the infinity basslink powered sub. My car sounds amazing. Crutchfield, I love you!!!

Pros: The sounds that come out of these speakers for the price is amazing!!!! Surpasses the factoring speakers. Before adding the new head unit, the sounds were amazing. You could really hear the difference. When adding the new JVC ARSENAL KD-AHD79 head unit the sounds left me speechless.

sounds great! Took minimum time to put them in and I turned up the volume to find NO fuzzy sounds anymore! Definitely recommend for a stock speaker replacement!

Pros: Great Deal, great stock replacement!

Great Speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall these are fantastic speakers especially for the price. They work great at all volume levels. Again, expect to buy new "screw clips" because the ones that come with the speakers are junk.

Crutchfield makes sure that installation is as simple as possible. Not much more to say other then it is a great product for the price.

Pros: The speakers work really great, easy to hook up. The bass sounds great. I currently only have two of my four speakers hooked up, nor do I have my sub hooked up yet, and it already is a million times better from my old speakers.

Cons: The little clips they give you to screw the speaker in with are terrible, broke tons of them. Had to go out and buy some decent clips to get my speakers to set in the door properly.

Don't let the price fool you, these speakers are built to be played loud!! Running them off of my head unit at 22watts RMS and these speakers handle everything i can throw at them. Sound it very clear even at loud volumes and installation was a breeze with the included instructions from Crutchfield. If you're looking for a good deal then look no further. Trust me you wont be disappointed.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just recieved these today and installed them in the rear doors of my 99 Bravada, Wow great sound! Took me about a 1/2 hour to install. I just had to redrill the mounting holes. Perfect fit. Highly recommended for the sound and price. Looking forward to more kicker products for my Bravader.

Very surprised

I installed two sets of these speakers in my 2001 Chevy Tahoe (in the front and back doors) today and what a difference they made. For such a low price I was a little bit concerned about how they would perform, but after yanking out the factory speakers and installing these i knew that they had to be better. My first drive in the car with these speakers i listened to country, hip-hop, and rock and these speakers really surprised me with their range even just running off of the factory radio. I have replaced the factory subwoofer with a JL audio 8 inch sub and that has also made a huge difference.

Fit all 4 doors on my 04 chevy 2500

These are good speakers for the money and sound way better than the stockers. They were not listed as fitting the rear door but they are a "direct swap", I even used the factory screws that held the oem speakers in place on the rear doors. The fronts only required drilling new mounting holes. I would recommed these to anyone looking to upgrade their stock speakers. Keep in mind you will need a sub for bass as these are not designed nor is any other speaker like this designed for bass.

Very good bang for your buck

Very good speaker, best ive ever bought. installed on 2000 tundra access cab LTD with JVC 610 receiver. i love the combo, has good bass, mid, and highs. i listen to a variety of music and the speakers compliment all. Time for removal and installation on back doors is roughly half hour per door, if you know what your doing....front takes a little bit longer.

Great Speakers For the Price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

these speakers are awesome! my friend has a car with a 200 dollar component system, and with these 60 dollar speakers in both the front and rear of my car, my sound is clearer, stronger, and just overall sounds better than his is. (my head unit is an Alpine CDA-105 receiver) installation was a breeze with the Crutchfield instructions-it took only 1 hour to install them in my front doors and the rear deck. had to take off the door panels in the front and the entire backseat to get the rear ones in, which is something i wouldn't normally do myself, but the instructions were very clear and i had no problems. i would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their stock speakers and thanks Crutchfield for the great service

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered these as a temp fix for my blown factory speakers until I could afford better speakers, it took less than 10 minutes to install both speakers in the back doors of My 2002 Chevy 1500HD crew cab, and they sound amazing!! I haven't even upgraded My factory stereo yet, and I don't think I will need to save for better speakers after all, these kickers did the trick, for very little money! Thanks Crutchfield for the tech sheet and adapter cables, made the install a breeze and the speakers them selves, WOW!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently installed an aftermarket stereo in my 2004 Silvarado. The stock speakers were ok, but wow these speakers are great. Crutchfield sent everything that I needed, and the speakers were easy to install. I have 6 3/4 in the front and 5 1/4 in the back. I wish I would have done this years ago. I was looking at putting a sub in the back, but these hit hard enough that I don't need one.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these for my rear deck, to start off my system. Install took an hour or so just cause i had to remove the back seat, pillars and rear deck and 3rd brake light. Just used the stock bolts, and they came with the wiring harness adapter, completely plug and play.

Sounded really good, no distortion, a little bright on the highs, nice thump and low bass, not subwoofer however. Hooked up to kenwood stereo, no amp yet!?!?!? Great bang for your buck.

Added kicker component speakers in the front now it sounds great and my ears are ringing after a long drive. Want to add a powered sub later.

where's the lows?

Written By corbmonster, houston on Sunday, July 31, 2011

Perfect highs!, decent mids for the $. lows are non existent. Maybe if I got a little 40 - 50 watt amp. :/ They are good little speakers, they need to be backed up with a sub(s) to get complete sound.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just put these in my 95 maxima to replace the factory speakers; these were plug and play with the harness crutchfield sent with them, install only took about 15 minutes for both sides doing it myself. I must say I am impressed I can finally enjoy listening to music in the car. These have enough bass to shake my mirrors, they should satisfy most unless you listen to mostly rap. The only issue is I have an aftermarket HU and these speakers make a crackling sound at full volume.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good set of replacement speakers. Nice upgrade from factory cheapies.

If you buy the XTC baffles to keep the rain water of them, make sure to cut a large hole in the bottom of the baffle, other wise the speakers sound terrible.

Amazing. These may be just regular (oversized) 6 1/2 coaxle speakers... but
they are really amazing. They pack enough of a punch to shake my car, and the
tweeters shine right through all of the low end to produce amazing highs.
Easily fit into my 6 1/2 slot too!
