About the Kicker 43DSC69304

Alexander H.

The Kicker fit

Kicker's DS Series 43DSC69304 6"x9" speakers make a great replacement for the worn-out factory speakers in your vehicle. In addition to providing excellent sound, these Kickers incorporate a zero-protrusion tweeter into a low-profile speaker that'll fit in more vehicles than ever.

Reliable, powerful sound

These 6"x9" speakers will give you the kind of clarity you've never had with your factory speakers. The 3-way design recreates a dynamic sound, dedicating the highs to the PEI balanced dome tweeter and supertweeter while sending the lower frequencies to the big polypropylene woofer. They'll conjure hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios, so you can confidently pump your jams for years to come.

Highlights:

  • 3-way car speakers (pair)
  • 6"x9" polypropylene woofer with ribbed polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter and supertweeter
  • handles up to 90 watts RMS (360 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 30-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 92 dB
  • top-mount depth: 3-1/4"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles included
  • warranty: 2 years
  • MFR # 43DSC69304

What's in the box:

  • Two 3-way speakers
  • 2 Grilles
  • Two 11" lengths of speaker wire (tinned wire on one end and female quick slides on the other)
  • 4 Red plastic butt connectors
  • Eight 1-1/8" Self-tapping screws
  • Owner's manual (English/ Spanish/ German/ French)

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker DS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for their rigidity and light weight. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

Balanced-Dome Mid/Tweeter: The 1/2" tweeter and 2" midrange are balanced-domes, made of PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide, polymer film). PEI provides a smooth high frequency response with quick, detailed and spatially-correct imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone; balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

Q
2000 f150 ford Harley Davidson edition do you make speakers to replace my stock ones?
kelley  Jun 30, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Kelley, and thank you for your question. We do not have OEM factory replacement speakers. Just aftermarket. Now these Kicker DSC69304 speakers are 6x9, and your factory speaker size is 6x8.

Q
I replaced the front door speakers of my 2019 sierra denali ( Bose system) with 6x9 full-range three-way speakers. Why am I hearing a flat response from the new speakers? In fact, the sound is very similar to the Bose speakers that I replaced. I expected to hear more clarity and highs.
francis  Jun 06, 2023
1 answer
A
This has to do with your Bose original amplifier and also the exact speakers you have used, Francis. The front door woofers in your Bose package are wired in parallel with your dash speakers so they should be getting a full-range signal instead of some Bose packages that will just play bass from the lower door location. With simply a speaker upgrade alone unless you use a model that has a lower impedance like the JBL 9631F's in the link below you will see the similar volume level and frequency response of the original speakers. Using the slightly lower impedance speakers can squeeze a watt or so more power out of your Bose amp and can help increase the clarity and volume a slight bit. If you are keeping your original radio, you can always add a more powerful aftermarket amp to your speakers for best results! We are always here to help. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_109CT9631/JBL-9631F.html

Q
Will these fit in the door of a 2003 dodge ram 1500 without having to do anything special? I'm seeing a lot of people having trouble fitting aftermarket 6x9's in the existing holes because the framework on the back of the aftermarket speakers are too wide. Thanks.
anthony  Apr 14, 2019
1 answer
A
These will fit into that pickup's factory cutout hole without having to do any modifications to the stock speaker location. There may be issues with impedances in some of those pickups if you intend on connecting these to the stock system and amp. I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your goals and system plans to check if these will work for you in your system My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

Q
Would 50w RMS be a good amount of power for these, or should I spend more on an amp?
joseph  May 15, 2018
1 answer
A
These speakers work with a wide variety of power for different levels of performance. There are customers that would enjoy the sound with 50 watts RMS going to them and some that would need more, but also some that don't need that much power. I recommend calling an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation on what power is needed for your goals. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

Q
90 watts RMS, is that the 2 speakers combined? Making them each maximum handling 45 watts rms??
travis  Jul 16, 2017
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. The wattage ratings are per speaker, so the wattage would be 90 watts for each individual speaker. Hope this helps.

Q
I have a 2002 WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the Premium Sound Infinity system. The front door speakers are not full-range but woofers as the woofers and dash speakers go through the Infinity amp. I believe the amp has built-in cross-overs for the dash and front door speakers (and rear door speakers). Will these speakers still work with my setup? Thanks!

I recently installed a pair of these in my 2008 Ram to replace the Infinity speakers that were buzzing at times. The Kickers are amazing, with a whole new depth, and range. I'm so happy with them I want to replace the 6 1/2" round rear speakers. I'm thinking the closest I can get to these are Kicker 40CS654. Does that sound like a good setup?

Amp suggestions? Size? Bridged?
jon  Mar 28, 2016

I have no suggestions. I had stock speakers that were blown and needed some new ones. I think crutch field either had a sale or made a suggestion. I bought a new deck and a six speakers deal it sounds great. I didn't buy it to pound and shake my car, but it is clear sounding.

I'm running the same kicker speakers in my rear doors, on my 2013 Dodge Dart Ralley. Front doors I run the 6.5 kicker. Im not useing a amp on at all. Happy with the stock stereo pushing these. If I were to use a amp, I wouldn't use any thing over 200 watts, and wouldn't bridge it. I'd run the amp in stereo, should and would sound just fine. Just my opinion. Hope this helps, and good luck with your kicker speakers. Like mine a lot.
ronald  Mar 29, 2016

These don't need a amp, the sound would probably be better amped thoe. These speakers don't need much power and just a factory upgrade in my opinion.

I don't have an answer for you, since I used these speakers as a direct replacement using the factory stereo in my son's car. Sorry.
rod  Mar 29, 2016
A
I used the Alpine 4 channel 180 watt amp in 4 channel unbridged configuration for my installation and am very happy with the sound. Solid low end tone / bass and crisp mid tones. I don't think the speakers need any more power as they can get painfully loud as is with no distortion.
