Enough to power your whole system
You can be sure to hear all your music's strengths and subtleties as the IX1000.5 5-channel amp delivers 65 watts RMS to each of your front and rear speakers while the dedicated subwoofer channel sends up to 500 watts RMS to your sub. Built-in frequency filters sculpt the sound so you can get maximum performance from your system, while a variable bass boost helps you dial in just the right amount of low-frequency punch. Noise-reducing technology removes interference from your car's electrical system as it enters the amp's inputs, so that your speakers see the purest signal possible.

Features
Class D Amplifier Design: The Kicker IX1000.5 is a Class D amplifier, which uses digital switching to amplify audio signals. This design results in high efficiency and less heat. The Class D design also allows the IX1000.5 to have a super-small footprint for fuel savings and increased cargo space.
CEA 2006 Compliant: The Kicker IX1000.5's power ratings are measured according to the strict standards dictated by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards allow you to accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even if they come from different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging.
Kicker Livin' Loud Certified Power Certificate: The amplifier comes with a certificate that indicates the total maximum wattage of the particular amplifier, along with the model number, serial number, tested date, and whether the amplifier passed the total harmonic distortion, signal-to-noise ratio, and protection circuit tests.
5-Channel Design: In addition to the Amp1 (front) and Amp2 (rear) output channels, the IX1000.5 includes a subwoofer channel. All of the speaker outputs will accept up to 8 gauge speaker wire. The outputs have set-screw terminals that can be tightened using the supplied 3mm Allen wrench. The minimum impedance for the Amp1, Amp2, and Sub channels is 2 ohms per channel.
Amplifier Rating: The Kicker IX1000.5 has the following power output:
- Amp1 and Amp2 channels driven (CEA 2006 Compliant): 65 watts x 4 channel RMS @ 4 ohms (20-20,000Hz, 1% THD)
- Amp1 and Amp2 channels driven (2-ohm): 125 watts x 4 channel RMS (20-20,000 Hz, 1% THD)
- Bridged (4-ohm): 250 watts x 2 channel RMS (20-20,000 Hz, 1% THD)
- Subwoofer Channel driven (CEA 2006 Compliant): 250 watts x 1 channel (25-200 Hz, 1% THD)
- Subwoofer Channel driven (2-ohm): 500 watts x 1 channel RMS (25-200 Hz, 1% THD)
Auto Turn-On: The Auto Turn-On switch offers three options:
- +12 V: The amp turns on when +12 volts is applied to the remote terminal.
- DC Offset: The amp turns on when a 6 volt surge is detected on the signal inputs (from a speaker-level source); in this mode the amp's remote terminal acts as a +12 volt output to turn on another component.
- Audio: The amp turns on when an incoming audio signal is detected; in this mode the amp's remote terminal acts as a +12 volt output to turn on another component.
Soft-Start Circuitry: The Kicker IX1000.5 contains "soft-start" circuitry that lessens initial shock load when powering up the amplifier, and a muting circuit to eliminate audio distortion that might surge down the line.
Protection Circuitry: The IX1000.5 has protection circuitry that will turn the amp off in the event of overheating, over voltage (power input), under voltage (power input), short circuit (speaker output), and over current (speaker output). If the Protection LED on the front side of the amp illuminates red, the protection circuit has engaged and the amp will not play until the problem is resolved.
Stackable: The optional Kicker IXSM stacking mount (206IXSM, sold separately) allows you to stack two Kicker IX-series amplifiers on top of one another.
Controls
Gain: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the Kicker IX1000.5 features an adjustable, independent gain control (low level: 125mV-5V; high level: 250mV-10V) for the front, rear, and subwoofer channels. This means that no matter what kind of radio is connected to this amplifier, the appropriate gain control adjustment can be made to ensure loud, clear, distortion-free music. The Gain controls are continuously variable from 0 to 11.
Crossover: The front, rear, and subwoofer channels have independent crossover settings. The Amp1 and Amp2 channel crossovers can be set for high-pass or full-range operation. The subwoofer channel's low-pass crossover is always active. The variable crossover points can be independently set between 50 and 200 Hz. The crossover slope is 12 dB per octave for the Amp1 and Amp2 crossovers, while the subwoofer's crossover is 24dB per octave.
KickEQ Bass Boost: The subwoofer channel has a variable KickEQ bass boost control. The bass boost circuit provides a 0 to18 dB signal boost, centered at 40 Hz.
Subsonic Filter: The amplifier features a a 24 dB/octave subsonic filter fixed at 25 Hz. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound but unnecessary oscillations which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. The built-in subsonic filter cuts the frequencies below 25 Hz to improve the reproduction performance of the speakers by eliminating harmful distortion.
Fader: When you are running two or more sets of inputs to the amplifier, the Fader switch should be placed in On position, to allow your source unit to fade between the front and rear channels. If you want to drive all of the speakers with one set of inputs (Amp1), the Fader switch should be in the Off position.
Sub Input: If you are using a dedicated output on your source unit for a subwoofer, it should be connected to the RCA inputs marked "Sub", and the Sub Input switch should be set to "Sub". If there is no dedicated subwoofer input, the Sub Input switch should be set to the Amp2 position, and the audio fed to the rear channels will automatically be fed to the subwoofer channel as well.
Remote Bass Level: The included wired remote bass-level control allows you to control the output level of the sub channel from the front of your vehicle. The wired remote bass-level control comes with a mounting bracket to mount it under your dash. The supplied 20' cable connects the wired remote bass-level control to the amplifier.
Note: The wired remote bass-level control measures 2.25" wide x 1.25" high x 2.375" deep.
Connections
Power Connections: The power and ground connections are set-screw terminals that will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on set-screw terminal will accept up to 8-gauge wire. The included 3mm Allen-wrench is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
Speaker Outputs: The Kicker IX1000.5 is equipped with five pairs of speaker terminals: two for Amp1, two for Amp2, and one for the Sub channel. All ten speaker terminals are set-screw terminals that will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. The supplied Allen-wrench is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
Note: The speaker output terminals of the Amp1 and Amp2 channels can be used in 4-channel mode or bridged to 2-channels.
Line Level Input: The amplifier is equipped with three pairs of gold-plated RCA line level inputs.
Speaker-level Input: High-level inputs can be used when the source device doesn't have preamp level outputs. The same RCA inputs on the amp are used for either speaker-level or line-level connections. When a speaker-level signal is used, the Kicker KISL speaker wire to RCA adapters are needed (item number 206KISL, sold separately) and the Input Level should be set to High.

This amp has great features and power for my front 6.5 components, rear 6x9, and my 4-8" kicker compVRS. I like the bass knob feature since I am running this off my factory head unit. As a former installer it was breeze to install as all the wired connections use the same size Allen head.
