2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
This is the way to go folks for your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab. I didn't want to lose the features of my stock radio particularly the 8" LCD screen, backup camera, USB connections, Bluetooth mic, etc. You'll get a fuller, richer sound out of your stock system. Some installation tips that the instructions don't provide: 1. Poke a hole through the inside wall of rubber grommet with a 4" piece of coat hanger. Tape the power cord to the coat hanger to pull it through the firewall grommet. Use KY jelly to make it easier to pull through. 2. Remove the 3 screws holding the AC vent, remove the AC vent and it will be easy to run the harness from the radio to under the dash. 3. At the rear door, run your hand holding the subwoofer harness under the carpet to the rear wall. Then you will have lots of cord to connect the harness to the subwoofer. 4. You will need a deep socket to remove and reinstall the bolts for the sub. It's all plug and play. Took me about 4 hours to install. It's a great upgrade to your stock system.
Pros: 1. You keep your stock radio features, 2, Plug and Play, 3, Improved sound and bass, 4 Crutchfield support for installation support if you need it.
Cons: 1. Way too expensive, 2, Volume control increase, if any, not what I expected.
