Kicker designed the PX200.1 subwoofer amp to work in your powersports vehicle, boat, motorcycle, ATV, golf cart, tractor, or any other vehicle using a 12-volt charging system. This weather-resistant music maker fits in the palm of your hand — or on the fairing of your bike — delivering up to 200 watts RMS to your subs, so you can hear the bass clearly as you work or play outside.
The PX200.1 employs Kicker's Direct Amp Technology™, using the vehicle's electrical system as its power supply so this bantamweight amp will run cool even while you're pushing it hard and loud. Kicker recommends the PX200.1 for driving one or two CompVT 6.5" 1-ohm subwoofers.
You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.
This amp was purchase to power a factory sub which is does quite well. If I were to do this over however, I would order the amp and the sub, as the factory paper is worthless over 10 watts. Don't waste your time, replace both.
Pros: Super easy install as it can tap into factory deck wiring for power. RCA inputs for clean signal and deck cross-over use, very tiny - easy to hide. Well built.
Cons: This is a MONO only amp, power rating is rated at 100Watts - @ 1 Ohm which is misleading. This is closer to a 40W amp when used on a 4 Ohm speaker.
Amp is compact and easy to install. High output from a small package.Senses sound so no need to run remote on from deck.
Pros: Amp is compact and easy to install. High output from a small package. Senses sound so no need to run remote wire from deck.
Installed one month ago into an Audi A6 Avant.
Before buying this, you have to realize what it's for- it's for driving the Kicker 40CWRT671 at 1/2 ohm (1 ohm DVC). Don't expect to drive anything that needs more power, even just the 8 inch. That being said, It's fantastic for its niche- sends plenty of power, and is only fused for 15 amps- your car's electrical system won't even know it's there, and you don't even need to buy an amp power kit if you install it right.
Pros: 1/2 ohm stable, super low draw on electrical system- AMAZING output for 15 amps
Cons: My only gripe- given that it's 100% designed to drive this one specific speaker, having the preset crossover set at 100 hz makes zero sense- 120 or 150 would have been much better. Any decent aftermarket deck will have this, but if you want to run it with your stock deck it's poorly thought out.
It does what It was design for, but in my case was not enough. I was looking to have more sound depth and this amp couldn't do it.
Pros: Small, compact. I see this amp adequate for small vehicles.
Cons: Not enough for a regular size sedan.
Unit fit on top of the dash substructure on my polaris RZR
Pros: Great fit and finish
Cons: Unfortunately this was an open box purchase and the unit was bad out of the box. Crutchfield offered to make good on the purchase but do to time constraints I needed to purchase an comparable unit from my installer.
I'm using this amp to drive the Kicker 6.5 subwoofer. It is more than adequate and its super compact size is just what I needed for my installation.
Pros: Powerful enough, extremely compact, ease of installation.
This product is everything that I was expecting. I installed this along with the CVT651 sub and PXi 50.2 amp, and PS5250 speakers on a 2012 Seadoo Wake Pro Watercraft. The sound is amazing and very clear. Very loud also. The amp draw is small enough that I didn't need to add or upgrade a battery.
Pros: Sound quality, size, easy install and easy to use.
Cons: I wish this has easier control of the sub gain.

Overview: PX series amplifiers are designed for motorized vehicles with small battery/charging systems; Kicker's new Direct Amp Technology uses the vehicle's charging system as its power supply, offering 90-percent efficiency. As a result, the PX200.1 draws a maximum of less than 15 amps and outputs solid power without taxing the limited charging capacity found on motorcycles, utility or other vehicles. Little ventilation is required and with its small footprint, the PX200.1 can be installed in motorcycle saddle bags or fairings, glove compartments, or other small spaces.
Power Output: The PX200.1 is a mono amplifier designed to power one or two CVT651 1Ω, 6-3/4" subwoofers. The power output is 100 watts RMS at 1Ω (<1% THD+N) and 200 watts RMS at 0.5Ω (< 10% THD+N).
Controls: The controls are under a rubber cover:
Wiring: All the wiring connections are in one Molex plug (power, ground, remote turn-on, speaker output, RCA input).
Speaker Level Input: When connecting a speaker level source, cut the RCA plugs off and splice into the remaining wire. If you prefer not cutting the RCA plugs off, use the Kicker KiSL speaker level to RCA adapter (item number 206KiSL, sold separately).
Differential Input: The differential input circuit reduces the likelihood of picking up any engine noise.
Subsonic Filter: The PX200.1 includes a 24 dB/octave subsonic filter, fixed at 40 hertz.
Weather Resistant: The PX Amps are weather-resistant, using a conformal-coated circuit board for protection against the elements. They also include stainless-steel mounting hardware.
I'm not sure. I have it hooked up to a very small sub (4") using the built in low pass filter. It is not very powerful but I do not know whether it is the amp or just the fact I have such a small sub. It does have the capability to do what you are asking. I'm just not sure if it will be powerful enough. [ JOSHUA Jul 31, 2015 ]
Yes the Kicker 12PX200.1 should work well with the JL M770. I installed the speakers in my boat cockpit and they sound great. Easy install. The cross over for the tweeter just plugs into the speaker. There is a connection for the sub woofer if you care to use it or run the sub off it's own amp. [ David Jul 31, 2015 ]
Not correctly. It is a single Channel amplifier. I would recommend running the small JL 2 or 4 Channel Marine amplifiers. Or the clarion 4 Channel "power pack". [ J ross Jul 31, 2015 ]
