Are you disappointed with the level of bass your factory system provides, but don't like the idea of installing a universal subwoofer and wiring kit? The VSS SubStage powered subs by Kicker are made to fit in specific vehicles, so you get harnesses that connect to your factory wiring, and a sub that's made to mount where your particular vehicle has space. Each system comes with vehicle-specific instructions that guide you every step of the way. The package also includes all of the wiring and hardware you need to complete the installation — that means no running to the hardware store to find a part that you didn't know you'd need.
The SubStage doesn't skimp on power and performance — it comes equipped with a 10" sub powered by a perfectly matched 200-watt amp, all housed in a custom enclosure that's optimized for sound quality. You'll look forward to rumbling lows that can play back the biggest digital drum beat yet also deliver the low-frequency subtleties of a standup bass. Kicker's earned their reputation for making subs that crank out bass you can feel and the SubStage is no exception.
The SubStage SCAMA10 fits the 2010-up Chevrolet Camaro coupe, and the subwoofer installs on the driver's side of the trunk. This kit only works in the Camaro coupe: it does not fit in the convertible. It connects to the factory stereo via two wire taps for signal, and attaches to the battery for power. Please identify your car before purchasing to make sure it'll work with this package, or you can call one of our Advisors at 1-888-955-6000 to confirm fit.
Instead of the usual sub in a box, the manufacturer creates a molded enclosure that fits perfectly into a convenient spot in your specific vehicle, housing a high-quality sub. Some enclosures even include a built-in amp, for the ultimate in stealth bass. The advantages? You don't lose much space (if any), your sub is perfectly matched to its enclosure, and your enclosure has a factory look that won't tell potential thieves you have an awesome sound system. Doesn't get better than that.
Pros: Fit perfectly did not take up to much room. Sound is amazing
First off, $700 is a big nut to drop. But there were two main reasons I went with the Kicker VSS: 1. I could keep the original head unit without any additional wiring besides what came with it and 2. A secure subwoofer with NO visible wires in the trunk (and didn't lose much space). Installation: I consider myself an above average hobby installer. I can't "build" but I can follow directions and understand wiring. This is a fairly easy install with the exception of 1 item: my camaro has the base sound system so I had to wire all the way to the head unit. It was time consuming removing all of the trim panels to get to the radio, but not hard. I did use BOTH sets of instructions (with the speaker and the Crutchfield set) to do the installation as both complemented each other. The one weak area in the directions was how to determine which two wires in the 44 wire plug to hook into; It took me about 30 minutes on the internet to find the wiring schematic to determine what which wires were 40 and 32. I recommend that Crutchfield provide this diagram to make the installation easier. Advice: start by running your wire from the trunk of the car forward. Once I was connected at the radio, I hooked up the battery to make sure the radio was working. Then I unhooked battery again and finished the installation in the trunk. The subwoofer sounds great! You won't win any contests and I will be replacing the other speakers, but this gave me what I was looking for - great sound!!
Pros: No visible wires Secured in trunk Doesn't take up much space
Cons: Radio connector diagram would have been helpful for installation
I could not be happier with this set up. Completely changed the sound in my 2014 Camaro SS. Added the bass that the factory system was lacking and in doing so brought out all the sounds I was not hearing before. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a simple plug and play addition that makes a huge difference !! Took me about 20 minutes to install and fit like a glove.
Pros: Everything about this is a pro
perfect addition to the upgraded boston acoustics system in the car
Pros: easy installation
Cons: so far no cons
I just wanted some extra bass to go along with the factory Boston Acoustics sound system. This delivers all I wanted plus some!! LOVE IT!!!
Pros: Very simple plug and play installation.
Cons: Cost is a bit high but worth it.
This speaker is awesome! The installation was a breeze and it sounds great. It's perfect for people to listen to rock music but probably isn't enough for heavy based lovers. The price is a little hefty but for the quality and ease of installation I have no complaints.
Cons: Price is heafty but worth it
Overview: Kicker's SoundGate SubStage factory audio upgrade kits are designed to fit in specific year/make/model vehicles. The SCAMA10 is compatible with select 2010 and later Chevrolet Camaros (please confirm fit with the Crutchfield vehicle selector, not compatible with the convertible). Included with the system are a 10" subwoofer in a custom enclosure, subwoofer amp, and all the necessary cables to power the amplifier and connect to the factory radio.
Subwoofer: The custom enclosure is loaded with a single 10" Kicker subwoofer, powered by a 200-watt amplifier mounted to the enclosure. The subwoofer is mounted in the trunk and the power cable is also connected to the battery in the trunk. Specific wire routing instructions are included, as is all necessary mounting hardware.
Electrical System: The amplifier is designed to have minimum impact on the Camaro's charging system.
Dimensions: The listed dimensions do not include the mounting brackets (regardless of these measurements, the subwoofer enclosure is custom built to fit in the trunk):

Yes, the system worked well in my 2014 Camaro SS with Mylink. My car subsystem package is SS2. I have Boston Acoustic with nav. It improve my stereo sound. [ JOHNNIE Jun 01, 2015 ]
Yes it does. That is the system I have in my car and it works great. [ KEVIN W. May 29, 2015 ]
Yes it does, fills in nicely mid volume [ Mike May 28, 2015 ]
Yes. I Installed this on a 2015 Camaro with the Boston Acoustics package without any issues. The sub just taps into the audio signal from the left-rear speaker. [ RUBEN May 28, 2015 ]
Yes it does. I installed it on a 2013 SS with the MyLink Boston system. Installation was easy. All the wiring and battery are in the trunk. You will tap into the drivers side rear deck speaker. [ BRENT May 28, 2015 ]
Yes. It splices into the left rear speaker, so it should really work with any stereo system - the enclosure is just made to fit the Camaro. You may have to modify the bottom mount though. I had to make my own, because the one from Kicker failed after a couple of weeks. (The rubber stub - its weak, and its hard to get the mount over.) [ Tony May 28, 2015 ]
comes with wiring harness, very easy to install [ STEPHEN Jun 06, 2014 ]
I put mine in a ZL1 Camaro so installation only took about 20 min. The only wires you have to run are the power and ground to the battery and the signal wires to the left rear deck speaker. On the ZL1 Camaro the battery is in the trunk where the spare tire would be so connection is very easy. If you have a standard Camaro without the Boston Acoustics sound system the installation would be a bit more difficult. This is due to having to run the wire to the front of the car.
