The SubStage SF150S09 fits the 2009-up Ford F-150 Super Cab, and the subwoofer installs under the driver's side of the rear seat. This kit will not install in 2009-10 models with the Sony factory audio system. It connects to the factory stereo via two wire taps for signal, and attaches to the battery for power. First off I'm writing this review because there's so little on it. I absolutely love this product I installed it into my 2011 xlt f150(basic headunit not sony). For what this is it's so simple to install yes there's some parts that are harder than others but basically if your the find of man to own tools your mostly likly able to install this, I mean I'm 16 and this tool maybe 2 hours max. This will work with any year or model that between 09- 14. I install after market( plug and play) kicker 6x8 in all my doors they were 200$ and came with speaker harness ready for the f150. This sub woofer plus those speakers is a crazy good combo! My only complaint is that because the door speakers play bass to, if your bass is above medium the door speakers kind of distort. But thats not even a problem with the sub woofer lol, couldn't find any thing wrong with it

Pros: I can turn my bass all the way up with full volume and the woofer dosent act or sound weird at all, my door speakers can't handle that much tho. Easy to install sounds amazing, puts out as much bass as my old 15 subwoofer if not more! Do not listen to anyone else this is probally the best thing on the market, I would spend 1000$ for the same thing if I had to! I keep my bass at -1 and it's almost to much bass for me! I'm 16 and the only music I listen to is rap so that's saying something.

Cons: Because this just taps into speaker wires the door speakers still play the bass to, if your bass is higher than medium it will start to distort at loud volumes. Really your not even reaching the speakers full potential but it is still one of the best sounding subs I have heard

Physically, this is a nice system. Comes with all required installation items. The instructions are pretty lame, there are small details you cannot see in the pictures (like where to make the connections in the driver's side kick panel). The sub is loud and can shake the truck. However, the sound is muddy at best and there's way too much gain to balance with the non-Sony radio. Even with the bass control set all the way negative and some mid-range boost the sound is boomy and thuddy. At lower listening levels (8, 9, 10) its passable. Above that you notice an upper bass hole and some non-musical thumps. Increasing the bass level on the radio only adds to the boominess. To say I am disappointed would be kind. The speaker has had time to break in and it did get a little less muddy. The best sound thus far is with a towel blocking the bottom of the enclosure (passive gain reduction). You should also know that this system is wired to the left front channel only!! For the price it should have a dual coil driver with a dual channel amp. There should also be gain and crossover controls. For Kicker to say this was engineered to match the vehicle (2014 FX4) is laughable. I'm searching for solutions and may end up with a custom mixer to create a L & R sum with gain control (more money). If you want music, don't waste your money. If you want to thump cars at stoplights this would work.

The "better than nothing" reviewer must have wired it wrong or had a bad unit.

Pros: Good build quality, excellent fit, nice wiring harnesses

Cons: Sounds pretty bad, no gain control, no crossover control. Instructions leave a lot to the imagination when it comes to routing the harnesses. Too expensive & not worth the price.

I was hesitant because of the price, but was approved for promotional financing at 0% interest. Installation instructions are not very clear and myself (34) and my father installed this. We are both "car guys" have have completed many restorations together as well as upgrades such as this. We ended up ditching the instructions and figuring it out on our own. Once the wires were in side and tapped it was great.

I'm not sure my the other reviewer did not achieve kicking bass. With my factory stereo (base mytouch ford, not Sony) I get the entire truck shaking, and can feel every thump in the seat. Shakes the rear view mirror and my phone when it's on the windshield mount. I highly recommend this to someone who is skilled at installing, but you may want to have it professionally installed if you are not very familiar. I was so irritated by my factory 6 speaker stereo I was going to trade the truck in to get a better factory sound. (Audiophile here). This saved me the hassle, not to mention money of trading in my truck. Now I love it!!

Pros: Compared to most items, easy to install, takes up no room except under the rear seat, and adds a sound that is very nice. I have a remote started and forgot to turn the stereo off. I park about 1/4 of a mile from work and could hear it thumping as soon as I left work.

Cons: Instructions are not very clear at time, and is one sheet of paper. Would like to see the cost less expensive, but it was well worth it.

I have a 2012 f150 with the upgraded Sony package. Bass was only marginal. I bought this to replace the stock powered sub which I have had 6x9s on deck power that put out more bass than the stock unit. I was hoping to at least get some punch out of this unit but was disappointed. Especially for the price and Kicker reputation.

This unit fills the cab ok. And some songs you may actually feel a tiny rumble from the back seat. Nbortom line is don't expect any miracle. It fills better than stock but only marginally.

Pros: Easy install.

Cons: Not much better than the stock unit it replaced.

Overview: Kicker's SoundGate SubStage factory audio upgrade kits are designed to fit in specific year/make/model vehicles. The SF150S09 is compatible with select 2009 and later Ford Supercab pickups (please confirm fit with the Crutchfield vehicle selector). Included with the system are a 10" subwoofer in a custom enclosure, subwoofer amp, and all the necessary cables to power the amplifier and connect to the factory radio.

Subwoofer: The custom enclosure is loaded with a single 10" Kicker subwoofer, powered by a 200-watt amplifier mounted to the enclosure. The included adapter harness taps into the factory wiring (for subwoofer signal input) behind the driver's side kick panel and the power cable is connected to the fuse box in the engine compartment. Specific wire routing instructions are included, as is all necessary mounting hardware.

Note: The subwoofer is mounted under the rear seat on the driver's side, so the jack and tool bag are relocated to the passenger's side. The hardware to relocate the jack is included, but a nut insert tool is also necessary (and not included).

Electrical System: The amplifier is designed to have minimum impact on the truck's charging system.

Dimensions: The listed dimensions do not include the mounting brackets (regardless of these measurements, the subwoofer enclosure is custom built to fit under the rear seat):
