Kicker's 40TCWS104 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 10" subwoofer behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged ported box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 40TCWS104 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 10" subwoofer behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged ported box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.

Front-view of Kicker 40TCWS104 10" sub enclosure

The specially designed port gives you more bass without sounding sloppy.

Hard-hitting CompS sub

The 10" CompS sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone for hard-hitting lows without distortion, while the ribbed foam surround promotes long excursion and helps to keep the cone on target. The sub's steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port delivers more bass without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 4-ohm impedance allows compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers.

Quality Sub. It was very affordable, and sounds perfect for everything I need.

Broke

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got it all hooked up and it sounded great and worked great for a couple weeks, but then listening to it I all of a sudden noticed that there was no bass. The amp was fine so I took a volt tester and checked if there was any power to the sub. There was so I took the sub out of the sub box and tested it and there was power going to it. So the sub it broke it doesn't work, now I don't know what to do.

Pros:

Cons: Broke within a couple of weeks with minor use.

Quality Sub. It was very affordable, and sounds perfect for everything I need.

Pros: I bought this as a scratch and dent, and it came packed as brand new. It hits very hard with a kenwood kac-3001 mono amp. It's almost overkill for a wrangler but i wanted a ported sub for when the top is off.

Cons: none so far.

We ordered an open box buy for the Kicker subwoofer to save some money. The subwoofer enclosure has a rattle on the front face board that goes away when you squeeze with a small clamp. The rattle could not be predicted with a visual inspection by the Crutchfield Team. It only rattles when you play it. We contacted Crutchfield and they are sending a replacement unit.

Pros: Great Sound. Good Looks

Cons: Occasional defects in materials and workmanship.

Happy with the purchase, was originally looking at the 12 and willing to pay the difference but it wasn't in stock. I went ahead with this one, since they said if I wasn't happy with it after a few days I could bring it back and order the next size up. I have a 1000 watt RMS amp on it, I just keep the gain down pretty low and it does fine. You're not going to rattle your neighbors china with this sub, but it will be great for filling the lower register for people who love music; but probably won't be the best choice if you want to impress your friends with heart stopping bass.

Pros: Great sound, can put out with the right amp behind it. Fits behind my '03 ranger regular cab, so it will fit almost anywhere.

Cons: I would prefer a lower "profile" box, because you can see bright yellow "Kicker" if you look in the window...nothing an old sweater won't fix.

The Size is perfectly thin fits between the rear strut bar and back seat. its paired to a RF 300 watt amp, it took a while to find the right tune to produce a punchy bass. Overall it does its job with the limited space it has available.

Pros: The Price, size

Cons: limited on the quality sound it can produce can distort easily if pushed really hard

I have tried 3 different low profile subs in my 2008 Scion xB and this is by far the best. I am running a 300w @4ohm Alpine amp and this thing does the trick. It isn't going to shake your neighbors mirrors, but it will rattle yours just fine. I am more impressed with the clean sound than I am the loudness, but that is most of what I wanted. Only downside to this sub is now I am going to need some dynomat!

Pros: Super clean sound. Loud deep bass at almost every frequency.

Cons: Not crazy about the yellow color. Just kidding, no cons. Great sub.

It fits "almost" perfect in the back of my sonic hatchback. It just clears the privacy shelf that stops people from looking in your back window to see what you have in there. The bass usually pops it off the little connector but it's no biggie. It doesn't cause any crazy sound waves that beat on your chest like dual 12s but common it's a single 10. For someone wanting some bass without rattling pictures off your wall every time you pull into a driveway I would highly suggest this product. Oh and it does get loud!

Pros: Looks awesome! Amazing sound, nice small compact, great for a hatchback and still have storage in the back

Cons: Would say none

Great!!

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 40TCWS102 enclosure uses one 10" CompS subwoofer, wired to present a 4Ω load.

  • Ribbed Surround: The optimized ribbed polyurethane helps eliminate flex and distortion.
  • Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The durable Spiralead tinsel leads are woven into the woofer's spider, for added strength and reliability.
  • Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The steel basket's vented pole piece and Kicker's Quad Venting slots contribute to the woofers' efficient cooling and durability.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompS speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Why did you buy this?

I love kicker. no exception. high 93.9db sensitivity proved for a very loud intense bass experience. also slim and compact, great for truck cab. looks awesome sounds awesome [ michael jonas  Mar 11, 2016 ]
Good reviews, good price, good brand, and looks like the best fit for my pickup. [ Mike  Dec 05, 2015 ]

No it does not. [ BERNARD F  Jul 03, 2016 ]
No it does not. It is only a box and subwoofer [ Ryen  Jul 03, 2016 ]
No. They are identical. You can use separate amplifier channels to power them and provide one with the left channel audio and the other with the right. There's not much point to this as bass frequencies are slow-moving so you won't hear much, if any, difference between left & right channel subwoofers. I hope that helps! I have it in the back seat of my 1989 Toyota Hilux [ michael jonas  Jan 02, 2016 ]
Jeff, I'm not familiar with the Toyota Tacoma's crew cab. I do know it fits behind the back seat of my 2008 Ford F350 crew cab. [ Bruce  Mar 07, 2015 ]
Hi Jeff, I installed 2 of these behind the bench seat of a 2001 Chevy 2500hd regular cab. There was not much room to spare but they fit pretty much perfect, just a little tilted due to the tranny/driveshaft tunnel. I would imagine it would fit for your application as the newer Toyotas have more room, especially in a crew cab. Hope this helps, Mike [ MICHAEL  Mar 06, 2015 ]
I'm not sure how much room you have but. The sub is pretty big. It's probably 5 inches wide along the bottom and tapers up. [ BILLY  Mar 06, 2015 ]

under a seat maybe not, dimensions are giving on crutchfield. I have one and its great [ michael jonas  Jan 02, 2016 ]
I install one in my F350 Crew Cab works great. [ Bruce  Aug 18, 2014 ]
Sorry, I have no idea. [ NIC  Aug 14, 2014 ]
I do not know my hunch is that it would not [ KEVIN  Jul 09, 2014 ]
Yeah sorry I meant subwoofer. And I want to put it in the under the backseat but I wanted to know if it fit under the backseat [ Jesse  Jul 08, 2014 ]
I don't have a super crew but wanted to clarify that this is just a subwoofer. You'll need to buy a separate amplifier. [ Jeffrey  Jul 08, 2014 ]
This itself is a subwoofer only you can find An amp that could fit under your backseat but the sub itself wouldn't fit under your seat it would however fit behind the backseats on either side. But as for the amp you can put I anywhere you want but most people put then close to the sub. [ CHRISTOPHER I  Jul 08, 2014 ]
Honestly, I'm not sure. I have a regular cab F-150. I think the base has a depth of about 7". You'll have to measure. [ MATT  Jul 08, 2014 ]
Maybe if the seat flips up. [ Beth  Jul 08, 2014 ]
