A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 40VCWS124 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 12" CompS sub behind your music. The rugged ported box was designed specifically for the sub, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.

The specially designed port gives you more bass without sounding sloppy.

Hard-hitting CompS sub

The 12" CompS sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone for hard-hitting lows without distortion, while the ribbed foam surround promotes long excursion and helps to keep the cone on target. The sub's steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port delivers more bass without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 4-ohm impedance allows compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers.

Was just what my system needed for that extra punch! Chuck who was my advisor recommended this sub to go with what I had purchased previously and it sounds great in my SUV.

I've got this driven by a Kicker 600 watt amp (300 mono). This thing thumps. Easy to install. Killer sub!

Pros: Good sub, Kicker quality box and all

Cons: none

Great bass-y sound but only within a limited freq range

I love bass, and I love listening to music with high, low, and heavy bass. I got this subwoofer because it was recommended for its compatibility with my other Kicker speakers. I've listened to enough of my favorite songs to know that this box can really bang in the best kind of way, but unfortunately, it's only made for typical mid-range bass and can't do too well with very low frequency or much higher frequency bass. I like the feeling of the bass vibrating through my car seats and into my body, but I'm not totally satisfied when it comes to more bass-heavy genres like hip-hop and trap. If you plan on listening to pop, rock, country, etc, then buy this sub, because it's amazing. But if you're like me and want to melt in your seat when the beat drops, just move on...

Bought this sub for my son's Jeep JK Unlimited. Lots of bass. Sounds much better with the top up than the top down. The box was slightly larger than I anticipated but fits nicely in the larger 4 door Jeep. Not sure if it would fit in a 2 door. Kicker has other products that will. Huge Kicker fan now and my son loves the quality of the sound.

Pros: Good quality. Moderately priced.

Cons: Takes up space in a Jeep

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 40VCWS124 enclosure uses one 12" CompS subwoofer.

  • Ribbed Surround: The optimized ribbed polyurethane helps eliminate flex and distortion.
  • Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The durable Spiralead tinsel leads are woven into the woofer's spider, for added strength and reliability.
  • Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The steel basket's vented pole piece and Kicker's Quad Venting slots contribute to the woofers' efficient cooling and durability.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompS speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.
