The FM Pro is Terk's most ambitious FM-only antenna yet. It is a long-range amplified antenna designed for demanding FM listeners. Mounted indoors or outdoors in an unobstructed location, the FM Pro combines remarkable reception and installation ease.

The FM Pro can be mounted indoors or outdoors, on a rooftop or the side of your house, upstairs in the attic, or on the wall above your audio components — it's as versatile as it is powerful. (The sleek, weatherproof housing is even paintable.)

The amplifier is housed inside the antenna and is powered via an included power injector that sends voltage directly through the coaxial cable and into the antenna's amplifier.

For optimum performance, the FM Pro should be mounted horizontally with the front facing the general direction of the broadcast signal.

Product Research

FM Signal Boosting: This unit amplifies FM signals only, the antenna isn't designed to receive and amplify AM signals.

Weather Resistant: The antenna is made with a co-polymer and resistant to weathering.

Indoor/Outdoor Design: This antenna may be mounted either inside the house or outside, using the three screws provided. For optimum performance, the antenna should be mounted horizontally, with the front facing the general direction of the broadcast signals, and it should be mounted as high as possible.

Mounting Note: The antenna should not be installed on a metal surface since that will degrade reception quality. A ground wire (not included) should be installed to a grounding block (not included).

Simple Operation: The only control is a power on/off switch.

Connections: The Power Injector must be connected to an AC outlet, and the attached coax output cable is made to be connected to your FM tuner (coax to spring clip adapters, which are supplied, may be needed). A 75 ohm coaxial cable (not included) must be run from the coax output of the antenna to the "TO ANTENNA" coax input on the Power Injector.

  • Operating Bandwidth: 88 MHz to 108 MHz
  • Amplifier gain: +11dB (switchable on/off)
  • Input Impedance: 75 Ohms

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm 80 miles from PBS FM station. I've tried various inside antenna with no luck. The TERK FM Pro, after a little experimentation to find the best direction, works like a champ....clear reception. I'm very happy. I mounted it under my wooden deck.

If you have the space this antenna will bring the weakest signals in to clarity

Pros: good construction

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We were having trouble with our FM connection where we live (out in the middle of nowhere) and after hooking up the Terk antenna and now we can listen to our favorite FM stations without interception of airwaves.

Pros: ALL

Cons: NONE

Recption Results

Written By Lewis, Pensacola, Florida on Saturday, December 29, 2012

After trying several indoor installation locations I moved outside. I mounted the antenna on a pole on the top of my house,40 ' above the ground wit a 350 degree rotation capability. Trying ALL ORENTATIONS in 5 degree increments resulted in (at most locations) dead air or extreme niose throughout the band, The best that I could obtain was only 1 staion in the FM band with no hiss but which faded inand out due to the time of day and the amount of cloud cover. Diffrent orentations were better for diffrent stations. I could never opbtaion more than one station with acceptable recption at a time BUT even that faded in and out thought the dat.

Pros: easly mountable

Cons: Very poor reception and does not lock on to a station.

Hardly any difference than indoor ant. that was supplied with reciever. It s not worth the time I spent mounting it to my roof eve, to take down and return.

Pros: None

Cons: No increanse in signal strenght.

Packaging terrible

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Had to return first antennae for another as was packed so poorly that the box arrived open -- not even taped shut. Just received replacement and not yet installed, so can't comment on performance. Crutchfield was fantastic about getting a new antennae shipped out with better packaging. Terk's packaging was the problem.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A very slight improvement over the 50 cent throw away dipole I had before. Even this seems only to be because the long cable (not included) allows greater placement options. The antenna itself did not seem to be any better than the throw away. Also turning the amplifier power on and off has absolutely no effect on performance.

Pros: Can be located anywhere.

Cons: Very expensive. Very poor performance.

We have weather extremes in my area. Lots of snow and ice and wind. I wanted to keep my antenna in good condition and had to mount it outdoors for best reception because my home has metal siding and a metal roof. I decided to enclose the antenna in PVC pipe and seal it to protect it from weather. I am happy to say that the plastic PVC pipe did not interfere with reception and is keeping my antenna in good condition and keeping it out of exposure to harsh winds, ice, snow and wind. I mounted the PVC pipe on top of a fence post and painted it with camoflauge paint to blend it in with the bushes and it can't be seen by passersby.

Pros: The TERK PRO AM/FM antenna gave me great FM reception. I live in a very small town (900 people) in very rural Colorado. Before installing the antenna I had no FM reception. With the TERK PRO I am pulling in 17 FM stations!!! I had great customer service, prompt delivery and even a coupon discount. I am very pleased.

Cons: I am not getting AM reception despite the AM/FM designation on the antenna. I am disappointed in the product in this regard. However, I was after the FM reception primarily. I will shop for an AM antenna as a separate item and try that.

Waited way too long for great sound

Written By Dave, Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, November 05, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My media room is surrounded on three sides by a metal fire place flue, plumbing to the second floor and kitchen plumbing and appliances. I tried 3 different tuners and not one of them could pick up a clean FM signal for my favorite digital classical station. The static was unbearable and even then the sound would cut in and out. I put up with this for several years trying all types of powered antennas. Frustration! I finally decided to try the FM Pro and even before I hung it and plugged in the power supply the sound out of my Denon and Klipsch speakers was crystal clear. No background hiss or crackle at all. I find myself standing in the center of the room marveling at the sound which is so crisp and clear I can't believe my ears. I couldn't run the coaxial cable up or out of the house so I just installed the antenna on the wall and will eventually get around to painting it. I am thrilled.

Pros: It works perfectly, is very light weight and sleek; since I couldn't run it up to an attic or outside it is just mounted on the media room wall and looks fine.

Cons: The large size surprised me.

Great antannae

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I never write reveiws but I am so impressed that I am taking the time to write one for this product. This is a great outdoor fm antannae. My folks moved into a retirement community and could not get any FM reception due to the concrete and steel building. I tried 3 other antannaes, including an outdoor one, and none worked. This antannae works great. My mom gets her favorite FM station with NO static. Excellent product. Plus, very simple to install.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great. Well worth the money. Pulls in stations I didn't know were there and clears up the ones I knew about. Don't waste your money on indoor antennas no matter what their claim is. Easy install. The hardest part is figuring out where and how to get the wire into the house but if I can do it, so can you.

The nearest/best classic rock station is over 60 miles away. The FM-PRO brings in a crystal clear signal. It's well worth the price.

Great reception with the Trek FM antenna

Written By Rebecca, Lexington, Va on Friday, May 16, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We ordered the Trek FM antenna on Thursday and received it on Friday and put it up immediately. We have a favorite radio station that plays the big band music along with the oldies. We could not get it in because of living in the mountains and our old antenna had given out. This Trek FM antenna is fabulous. We now get great reception and especially get our favorite radio station. The service was great also.

Terk FM Pro Antenna

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

All I want is to pull in the modest signal of a classical station 40 miles away. A new digital receiver and "powered" antenna system didn't do it. This antenna pulls the signal just fine into my 35-year-old receiver so all the new stuff went back to the dealer. Now I just wish the old system had a remote.
