About the Terk FM Pro (FM-50)

The FM Pro can be mounted indoors or outdoors, on a rooftop or theside of your house, upstairs in the attic, or on the wall above your audio components — it's as versatile as it is powerful. (The sleek, weatherproof housing is even paintable.)
The FM Pro is Terk's most ambitious FM-only antenna yet. It is a long-range amplified antenna designed for demanding FM listeners. Mounted indoors or outdoors in an unobstructed location, the FM Pro combines remarkable reception and installation ease.

The FM Pro can be mounted indoors or outdoors, on a rooftop or the side of your house, upstairs in the attic, or on the wall above your audio components — it's as versatile as it is powerful. (The sleek, weatherproof housing is even paintable.)

The amplifier is housed inside the antenna and is powered via an included power injector that sends voltage directly through the coaxial cable and into the antenna's amplifier.

For optimum performance, the FM Pro should be mounted horizontally with the front facing the general direction of the broadcast signal.

Specifications

Features

FM Signal Boosting: This unit amplifies FM signals only, the antenna isn't designed to receive and amplify AM signals.

Weather Resistant: The antenna is made with a co-polymer and resistant to weathering.

Indoor/Outdoor Design: This antenna may be mounted either inside the house or outside, using the three screws provided. For optimum performance, the antenna should be mounted horizontally, with the front facing the general direction of the broadcast signals, and it should be mounted as high as possible.

Mounting Note: The antenna should not be installed on a metal surface since that will degrade reception quality. A ground wire (not included) should be installed to a grounding block (not included).

Simple Operation: The only control is a power on/off switch.

Connections: The Power Injector must be connected to an AC outlet, and the attached coax output cable is made to be connected to your FM tuner (coax to spring clip adapters, which are supplied, may be needed). A 75 ohm coaxial cable (not included) must be run from the coax output of the antenna to the "TO ANTENNA" coax input on the Power Injector.

We are using it insider a building to enhance the reception of our College Radio station... Not being exterior to our building I'm not sure... We are using the antenna vertically
seina  Dec 08, 2015
A
No. It is best placed in the direction (perpendicular to) the signal. I listen to only one station that was weak but now get a good clear signal.

Q
Can this be used with a splitter? Noticed it receives its power over the coaxial cable so was not sure if it only works with one receiver. Thanks

I have not tried my unit with a splitter. Mine has a 2-prong AC plug near the input end which I power off the auxiliary power outlet at the back of my receiver/amplifier. Any power source will do for that and the coaxial input should work with a splitter. Since I have NOT tried splitting the signal you assume any risk if you do try this special connection !

put it on a splitter and see how you do
