Good Kit

Written By timothyanciso, Fairbanks, Alaska on Saturday, February 18, 2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I liked this kit. For my application, I had a set budget that I was trying to stay under, and this kit helped. I had plenty of power, ground, and remote wires. The only thing I was short on were the ring connectors. I needed a bigger size to fit the bolt I was trying to ground to.

I would like to see streetwires offer this kit with a fused distribution block. I always like extra securtiy. This is not a gripe with crutchfield, just a suggestion to manufacturer.

With that said, I would buy this again as well as recommend it to my buddies.

Near perfect

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Don't get my rating wrong; this is a great kit. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the wiring block. It's not a fused block, and the plastic cover didn't even fit on the black plate correctly. There wasn't enough remote turn-on wire for my application, but, I don't fault the kit for that. I have an extended cab truck, and I ran the wire the "long way around" so as to completely hide it. I ended up using different wire so I didn't have to splice in an extra few feet to make it reach.

I also didn't have anywhere on my battery to attach the ring terminal on the 4-gauge wire, and the ring terminal wasn't big enough to put it on the accessory block on my truck. I had to cut off the end, and crimp it to a terminal post connector.

Other than those issues, I had PLENTY of 4-gauge to run to my fuse block, plenty of ground wire, and the zip ties came in handy.

I originally thought about buying everything seperate, but, this kit saved me a few bucks. Worth the price, in my opionion, even if you don't use all the parts included.

Easiest kit to use for multiple amps

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was adding 2 more 100 watt amps to my system (which already had 1-300 watt sub amp) and decided this would make a neater job of power cables for the whole system.

I wish I would have done it this way to begin with. If you are installing multiple amps or even THINK you will upgrade to more amps in the future, BUY THIS KIT! It's got 4 output terminals in the block for up to 4 amps and provides all the power you will need.

Looks great too! I highly recommend this wiring kit.
