Heavy duty!

Written By KenE, Ohio on Thursday, July 26, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these wires because I wanted durable quality wires to run to new rear speakers in a truck getting heavy-duty use. These wires definitely fit the bill!

Pros: Good price Thick insulation Easy to work with

streetwires speaker wire...good stuff!

Written By getafterit, crescent city, california on Monday, June 18, 2012

I was hesitant to buy the streetwires speaker wire due to all the negative feedback about the clear coating. I suppose the clear covering could be a nusaince if you dont know how to remove it. The trick is to slice it lenght wise. Remember only to slice the amount needed and dont try and cut all the way through the covering. Then grab the wires in one hand and the covering in another and pull in opposite directions. Easy as that!

Pros: blue and clear wire colors make indentifying positive and negative easy. Thick outer coating protects against wire chaffing, nicks and cuts due to sharp edges on sheetmetal. Wires is very flexible so even the tightest of turns is a snap. Fishing this wire through the rubber wire boots on doors can be tricky but a can of pyroil silicone spray made this a snap. Thick covering also helps protect inner wires when dragging across sharp metal edges.

Cons: larger than average outside diameter could be visible in some under carpet applications.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very difficult wire to work with. I do a lot of elec work and find this to be the most difficult wire to strip insulation off. Could not detect any noticeable difference between it and the original normal speaker wire
