Pros: Great cable

Amazing Wire

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love this wire. Very durable and flexible. I'd like to think this wire is about really a 10 gauge wire. Its some really thick stuff for speaker wire. Id defiantly spend the extra money to get this wire.

Pros: Very thick, durable, and flexible.

Cons: None at all.

Great Speaker Wire

Definitely nice speaker wire. I've used it numerous times on different builds, and will continue to do so. The protective jacket it makes it a little thick and stiff, but overall it's great stuff. Well worth it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The clear coating around the wires is kind of hard to cut off. But after wiring it into my system it looks great and sounds great.

Pros: Great sound quality.

Cons: None.

Exactly what I expected!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great wire. I was a little concerned as to the expected quality, however, I couldn't be happier. I only used about 3' to run the signal from my mono amp to the subwoofer. No issues or concerns.

Pros: Quality!!

Cons: A little pricey but as expected it's 12 gauge wire, so it makes sense.

Good stuff

Huge twisted pair design with a thick shield, awesome cable.

Pros: Super thick, high quality. Will definitely carry all your amp's power with no sweat

Cons: A bit pricey, but really only necessary for your subs.

Once you work with wire like this, there's no going back. In the scheme of things, the cost is insignificant if you are piecing together a nice system. It assures you are getting clean, powerful signal from your amps. I've never picked up any radio noise or the like, and in fact have eliminated such simply by upgrading stock wiring to Streetwires Ultra Cable. Crutchfield shipped it fast - thanks again for a another flawless transaction!

Ordered 3' to go from the amp (500 max) to a 12" ported Polk sub. Not only does it sound fantastic, but it looks great with my son's car too as it is dark blue, the Sub is blue LED lithted and this just fits in with the scheme.

Pros: absolutely no power loss noticed well constructed and great looking the twisted cables

Well Constructed Speaker Wires for Harsh Mobile Environment

Written By Pete, Demarest, NJ on Friday, September 14, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

At first, I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing these speaker wires for subwoofer application on my 2012 Mazda5 -- purchased a JL 6-1/2" ported sub for my car to replace my Kicker 10" enclosed sub. Turns out that the sub is too big to place underneath the front passenger seat but these wires, definitely not going back because it's a well made cable for mobile environment. Outer jacket is a heavy duty PVC material and the inner conductor is composed of very fine strands and although they are rated at 12 gauge, they are very beefy with very think outer insulation and a lot more conductor. In addition, because the inner conductors are twisted, so much of the crosstalk will be cancelled out as it travels down the path to the sub. Bit on the expensive side but I believe it's better than most wires sold at other retailers.

Pros: High quality, well constructed speaker wires to hook up amp to sub or anything that requires a signal path.

Cons: Bit on the expensive side.

Excellent quality cables for my 300 watt sub

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These cables do the trick. Love the outer sleeve to keep the wires bundled together, makes it a nice and clean presentation. The quality of the wire is really good, soldered connectors to the wires and the solder stuck to it with ease.

Pros: Outer sleeve keeps it clean. High quality metals used

Cons: none

Wires for the street!

Written By ToneyD, Mobile, AL on Friday, June 22, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is good, quality cable. I don't see the problems some are having with the sheath, it's super easy to work with, much like Romex and very easy to work through the accordian tubes in car doors (use a bit of rose oil or grease, and a stiff pilot wire). You need to separate the wires a good deal when soldering or the heat will blister the insulation together (not uncommon). My new pick for best value in a nice looking G.P. speaker wire. I've been doing car audio for about 32 years and have never had a complaint with Crutchfield, also, they were not stingy when paying out my measure of wire! Thanks people!

Pros: High strand count for maximum flexibility. IS actually 12 AWG as stated (some others are marking wire based on insulation diameter). Color coding looks very nice. Marked every foot along length. Super easy to work with. Pre-tinned copper strands for reduced corrosion/easier soldering. This cable should LAST!

Cons: None really, insulation *could* be a bit higher temperature rated, likely with a sacrifice in flexibility though. Just take your time.

Amazing product!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Greatest speaker wire. I understand a lot of people are having trouble with the protective layer. All yu do is take a razor and make a slight cut length wise and pull the wire through the cut. Its extremely easy. The wire is flexible and increased my sound quality by alot. Also, the blue and clear looks really cool. Overall one of the best wires out there. Lckily, i got mine when it was only 1$ a foot :)

Cons: Nothing

Written By Steven, New Orleans, LA on Monday, June 04, 2012

If you are like me and have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on improving your car audio system, and still seem like there is a weak link; this is usually from your power wire or speaker cable. As soon as I took out the RCA cables, Speaker Wire, and Power Wire and replaced them all with the streetwire alternatives, I experieced the best quality and power increases I have ever gotten from any upgrade in a system. The hissing at listening level when a song is not playing, and is paused etc, all went away; the speakers seemed twice as good, and the amp ran cooler as well. This is the way to go, I spent around 150 on upgrading all my wire including rca's to streetwire's version; compared to what I spent on my amps, subs, and components it is a small price to pay to make your system perform with maximum power and clarity. I feel it was stupid of me not to use this in the beggining and will never turn back! This is better than any wire I have ever installed, worked with, listened to, or bought; and the protective layer is incredible for eliminating noise and keeping the wire together i do not understand the negative reviews about this! You get protection from distortion and the elements with this and a pair of scizzors will cut right through the wire with ease, if you want perfection ignore any review stating that the outer coating is a con of this product, and embrace it as it is truly an integral part that enhances performance and clarity! Buy this and never turn back.

Pros: Clear Sound, Bargain Compared To Other "High Performance Wire", Clear, Powerful, Minimal Distortion, Increases Performance, Gives a New Name to Perfection!! Spend the extra money!!!

Cons: Nothing at all.

Wire is very strong and very durable. Only draw back is the clear casing that it is in, took me a while to take it off the wires, but other than that, the wires are real nice and thick.

I like this speaker wire!

Written By Stonecold_HTM, Overland Park, KS on Friday, April 06, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice speaker wire. 12 guage and looks cool. I did not have an issue stripping back the clear outer jacket. You can use utility knife and carefully cut a slit length-wise, peal back and cut away, or, if you are not confident with the knife, just use a pair of small wire snips and cut along the length like a pair of sissors. Once the clear outer jacket is removed just use a standard pair of wire strippers. I needed 12 guage to handle the current levels on a subwoofer application; the size is what I expected.

Pros: Good quality wire, looks great

Cons: None

This 12 gauge wire is as limber as a contortionist. This is the best stuff I,ve ever used. Kudos to streetwires.

Cons: outer jacket a bit tough to remove, but it's worth a little patience.

The Speaker wire

Nice wire but a little confusing to order. The first time I order qty 1 and got one foot instead of one roll. The next time I ordered several feet because I didn"t realize the speaker box was pre-wired, I only need a few feet.

Pros: good quality

Cons: confusing to order

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great speaker cables. The sound is amazing when using it with my JL Audio 600 amp and my JL Audio stealthbox. Only thing I will say it's a little bulky because of the tubing but other than that it's great. A word of advice make sure you buy enough cable it's always better to have extra and cut the excess.

This twisted pair business is bull

Written By Matt B, Alexandria, VA on Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the worst cable to cut and strip. The outer sheath/jacket was impossible to rip off of the twisted pair inside. The only reason I even bought this was because it was twisted. Upon trying to actually strip the outer jacket off, I had to use a razor blade to slice down the middle of the wire the full length of what I wanted removed, as leaving even the smallest amount of outer jacket would prove futile. Leaving a small amount, it would grab the twisted pair and NOT PULL AWAY like a normal wire's jacket. Which might be useful, but not in my automotive experience. Nope. I gave it a 2 star-rating because it is a rad blue and clear color, and it is twisted, which I believe would help in reducing interference.... but at the high volumes, short lengths/runs, and wattage levels we are using it, is probably a non-issue. I feel Crutchfield over sold me on this product. Every other item they suggested has been gold. GOLD I tell you.

StreetWires 12-gauge Ultra Cable™ Speaker Wire

Written By ninjarx7, Gaithersburg, MD on Thursday, July 28, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Streetwires 12-gauge Ultra Cable Speaker Wire is unnecessarily over sized. The thick clear jacket that surrounds the twisted inner cable is too large. I have some old old school Streetwires 12-gauge speaker wire I purchase a long time ago and it is super flexible and resembles large lamp wire. I takes up far less space and it performance the same way is its new larger, spacey counterpart.

Oh my. This cable is great. You would thing that for such a thick cable, that it would be difficult to handle. It bends and follows whichever shape you give it. I could not replace my front speaker cables due to being virtually impossible to pass through my 2001 Nissan Altima's door, but I rewired my rear speakers with this. Oh yes, the wire is great and for high power systems it is a must.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good wire and easy to work with once you figure out the best way to strip it. I poked myself a couple times because i was using a pocket knife rather than scissors or a proper wire stripper. Looks very nice. Using it to get 360 watts RMS to two 12's. It might be a pretty obvious thing but as this was my first install I wasn't sure, both cables inside the sheath (blue and clear) is a 12 gauge wire, so you have positive and negative twisted together. The best thing to do is decide which you want to be positive and which to be negative and keep it that way to avoid confusion later on. Good luck.
