Good product, bad instructions

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used on my Alpine 9886. Product works great!! The instructions dont tell
you anything about the yellow and black wires. I thought that they were
power and grounds but had to get Crutchfield to verify it. Make sure you
hook the yellow up to a constant power and not a switched power. Hope it
helps y'all!!

Great Product Bad Directions

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received this to use with my Apline 9884 and could not get it to work w/ unit. I followed the directions and it did not help. After hours of searching on the internet, someone made the comment that the yellow and black tail of wires needed to be hooked up to a power source instead of getting power from the unit. As soon as i did this the unit worked great! Very bad instructions.

Takes some work to get it operational

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My other
relevant components:
Alpine 9886 head
unit, XM2 Direct
adapter CNP2000UC,
and the Alpine
PXA-H100 audio
processor with the
KTX-H100 tuning kit

After hooking
everything up
generating IMPRINT
curves with laptop
computer (sounds
great), there was no
XM radio audio. The
HU still displayed
all track info, but
no sound at all.
documentation does
not show how to
connect satellite
radio with the H100
processor box (does
not match their
overall standard of
excellence), and I
had first tried to
patch the XM Ai-Net
plug into the
"Ai-Net" jack on the
H100, which is
really a
pass-through meant
for a CD changer.
Another customer
review had a similar
problem, only with
Sirius and its
adapter, and said
the Ai-Net
pass-through on the
H100 did not work.
The guy re-routed
the Ai-Net cables
and it solved the
problem. So I did
the re-route and it
