About the Audiovox ADUO-100-MAZ Silverline DUO

Dave Delamere

Adding sound flexibility

When replacing the radio isn't an option in your vehicle, Audiovox's ADUO-100-MAZ Silverline DUO interface enables you to connect an iPod®, iPhone®, or an optional SiriusXM satellite radio tuner to the factory radio in your Mazda. The package includes the interface module, a vehicle-specific harness that plugs into the back of your factory radio, infrared remote control, infrared repeater with a 41-inch cable, and a 5.5-foot iPod cable.

Connect your gear

The 30-pin iPod connector cable enables charging and control over the music on your compatible iPod® or iPhone®. If you have an Apple® device with a Lightning™ connector, you'll need an adapter such as the Apple® Lightning™ to 30-pin adapter (sold separately). You can also connect the optional SiriusXM SXV200 satelllite radio tuner using the Audiovox AACCSATCBL cable (both sold separately)  — you'll need a subscription to receive satellite radio broadcast. Factory radios that support factory satellite radio text will show Apple® device and satellite radio information when using the ADUO-100-MAZ Silverline DUO.

An additional USB port allows for firmware updates, but does not enable an additional musical source. When installing the Silverline DUO, you'll want to make sure you can access the interface for these future updates.

Enjoy your iPhone's music apps

If you're big into Pandora® Internet radio, iHeart Radio®, Livio, or other music apps, you can enjoy them through the Silverline DUO. Simply fire up the app on your iPhone, connect it the Audiovox cable, and enjoy the audio. The factory radio's display will show artist, album, and song information from select apps.

Control through your factory radio or steering wheel buttons

Once you've hooked up your iPod, iPhone, or satellite radio, you can take command of your tunes right through your radio or your car's steering wheel controls — it all works just like any other normal radio functions. You can also use the controls on your connected iPod or iPhone.

And even a remote control

The ADUO-100-MAZ includes a remote control option over your iPod, iPhone, and SiriusXM tuner. Plug in the infrared repeater cable to the ADUO-100-MAZ interface, and position the repeater end inside your Mazda. The wireless remote control sees the repeater and lets you browse through your Apple device's music library or save and recall six preset SiriusXM channels.

iPod/iPhone note: If you're going to use your iPod or iPhone with this interface, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this interface is compatible with your vehicle.

Installation notes: You'll need to remove and reinstall the factory radio to connect the Audiovox Silverline DUO. The Mazda factory radio must have satellite radio capability to display text, and the factory satellite radio tuner will have to be removed to install this interface. If your Mazda is equipped with the factory Bluetooth®, you will need to re-pin it to the Silverline DUO harness.

Notes:
  1. Factory radio must be Satellite Radio capable to display text and factory Satellite Radio tuner must be removed.
  2. Factory Bluetooth (if equipped), must be re-pinned to the SilverLine Duo's harness.

Apple Device Compatibility: The Audiovox SilverLine Duo AUDO-100-MAZ includes a proprietary 30-pin cable to connect Apple iPods and iPhone devices with a 30-pin connector directly. It can also be used with Lightning-connector Apple devices via a 30-pin to Lightning adapter (sold separately). It supports audio playback of stored music and music apps from a compatible Apple device. It will also output song/artist information to a SAT Text-compatible factory radio's LCD screen. In addition, the included IR remote control offers music browsing. It even charges your apple device while connected.

  • Music Playback: In addition to stored music on your connected iPod or iPhone device, the Audiovox AUDO-100-MAZ also includes support for internet radio streaming apps downloaded on your iPod touch or iPhone device. Now thousands of internet radio stations can be streamed through your vehicle's stereo system. Supported apps include Livio Car Internet Radio, Pandora, iHeart Radio, and more. Your iPod or iPhone device's music library or music application will need to be initially activated on the screen of your Apple device and then can run in the background. Please note that although iOS 4.0 is supported on iPhone 3G and iPod touch (2nd generation), applications do not run in the background. As such, loading the app takes longer than on devices where the app is present in the background. For music app playback, your iPod touch or iPhone device must have an active wireless data connection in order to stream music from an app while in the car. Data connections including "3G" or "4G" through wireless carriers, or a third party wireless Internet access point connected to your mobile device through WiFi will work.
  • Playback Control: The SilverLine Duo lets you browse your iPod/iPhone's stored music library by song, playlist, album, or artist from the included IR remote control. In addition, you can control basic playback functions of stored music and music apps, such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track, from the factory radio or steering wheel controls. You can also choose to simply control your iPod/iPhone from its own clickwheel or touchscreen.
  • Song/Artist Information: Factory radios that support Satellite Radio Text display will display the song information from stored music on your Apple iPod or iPhone device. From your factory radio's display you can view artist, album, and song information of the current track you are listening to. In addition, iPhone and iPod touch devices with iOS 5.0+ let you view artist, album, and song information from select music apps on your factory radio's screen. When using an application that doesn't implement this feature, or using an iPod or iPhone device running iOS 4.0 or earlier, only the name of the application will be shown on the factory radio's screen.
  • Charging: The AUDO-100-MAZ interface module automatically charges the battery of your iPod or iPhone when connected and your vehicle ignition key is in the "ON" position.

Note:
  • *Requires Apple's Lightning to 30-pin adapter or Lightning to 30-pin cable (sold separately).
  • Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.

SiriusXM Ready: The Audiovox A-ACC-SAT-CBL cable (sold separately) is needed to add the SiriusXM SXV200 Satellite Radio Tuner (sold separately) to the Audiovox SilverLine Duo AUDO-100-MAZ. The SilverLine Duo allows audio playback, control, and information display from your factory radio for SiriusXM Satellite Radio. A subscription is also required to receive satellite radio programming from SiriusXM.

Optional Aux Input: If you need an Aux input for your Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone or any other portable music device, the Satellite Radio port on the SilverLine DUO interface module can be converted to a stereo 3.5mm or RCA auxiliary input with the Audiovox AACC-106-AUX cable (sold separately).

IR Remote: The Audiovox SilverLine Duo ADUO-100-MAX comes with an IR remote and IR repeater for playback control of your connected iPod/iPhone and SiriusXM tuner. The remote allows you to browse your 30-pin Apple device's music library by Playlist, Artist, or Album. The remote also lets you save and recall six SiriusXM Satellite Radio presets.

Vehicle Harness: The included vehicle harness connects to the factory connector on back of your Mazda factory radio. If a factory harness is present, disconnect it from the factory radio and plug the SilverLine Duo's vehicle harness in its place. Then plug your vehicle's factory harness into the cable receptacle on the SilverLine Duo's vehicle harness.

Note: Audiovox recommends that the module be installed in an easily accessible place (not placed behind the factory radio). This allows for easier connection and disconnection of your external audio devices, as well as future firmware upgrades.

Dip Switches: The SilverLine Duo features two dip switches to configure the module for your compatible Mazda vehicle

Firmware Updates: There is a mini-USB (type-B) port on one side of the SilverLine Duo module to connect to your computer for firmware updates.
