Q
I have a 1991 chevy blazer and want to buy a overhead DVD player but the roof is fiberglass not sure how I would install it?
albert  Jun 05, 2016

A
I don't think the roof material will matter. You don't drill through the roof at all. I was able to remove the dome light from our kia sedona and drill the Audiovox mounting bracket to match the hole pattern of the old dome assembly. No permanent changes made to the van or the roof allowing me to restore it to factory later if needed. Remove your dome light first and check to see what kind of support you have to bolt into.

Q
How easy is this to install? Are there many wires to mess with?

A
On my vehicle I was able to remove the front roof computer display, lights, and storage department along with the dome light and side pillar covers and fish the wires without removing the entire headliner. I used the existing mounting holes for the dome light. The number of wires depends on if you are connecting to head unit or using as standalone player. You need power that you have to pull not from the light but from constant power and ignition power from the existing stereo head unit area. I ran audio and video cables for two way video, from the unit to the head unit and I can play from the head unit to the Audiovox unit and used direct wires for audio. With just power cables and using the units wireless for audio it would be many less wires.
chris  Jun 06, 2016
A
You will have to pull the headliner in your vehicle, cut holes and attach to a rib in the roof. I would NOT recommend attaching a unit like this to the headliner alone, because it will fail. If you have any type of overhead console it may NOT work or you will have to eliminate the over head console. I would HIGHLY encourage professional installation by a professional shop ONLY!!! Good Luck!!!!

Q
For dome light control, is it compatible with my 2005 Toyota Sequoia system which uses a double positive circuitry? Double Positive - Both poles of the vehicle light are positive until the door is opened when one pole becomes negative.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Sorry, I can't answer that. We installed this in a customer's vehicle several months ago. I haven't had any complaints about the product though.
yipes  Feb 16, 2015
A
Yes I took power off the switch power of the deck so the DVD player only comes on when the deck is on - so power is cut off when it is off and it still returns to the same point.
