Product Overview: The SIRIUS Stratus 6 is a plug-n-play SIRIUS Satellite Radio receiver. The package includes a magnetic antenna, cigarette lighter power adapter, an adjustable self-adhesive car mounting kit and vent mounting kit. An optional home kit (607SUPH1, sold separately) is available for enjoying SIRIUS programming in your home or office.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio: SIRIUS Satellite Radio features more than 120 streams of programming beamed coast-to-coast, including news, talk, sports, entertainment, children's programming, and over 65 streams of commercial-free, digital-quality music.

Note: Subscription required for service. Satellite radio service is not available in Alaska or Hawaii.

A La Carte: The Stratus 6 radio allows you to choose from the A La Carte programming packages, which provide for individual channel selection. There are a variety of A La Carte options, offering both basic and premium channel selection.

Best of XM: In addition to the wide variety of SIRIUS programming options, you can also subscribe to the Best of XM, including Oprah Radio, MLB Home Plate, Opie & Anthony (on The Virus), NHL and NBA games, the 24/7 NHL Home Ice Channel, The PGA Tour Network, college sports (Pack 10, Big 12, Big East, ACC, and SEC conferences), every IndyCar Series race, and XM Public Radio.

FM Transmitter: The FM modulator built into the Stratus 6 re-transmits the SIRIUS signal it receives via the PowerConnect power supply. This FM signal is tuned by your existing radio, so you don't have to make any connection between the SIRIUS receiver and the radio. You can select any frequency (in 0.2 MHz steps) between 88.1 MHz and 107.9 MHz. Five frequencies can be stored in memory for easy recall. The FM modulator can be turned off if not in use.

Important Note from Crutchfield: FCC rules limit the transmission strength of wireless FM transmitters to a point where transmission needs to take place very near your FM radio. Sirius addresses this issue with the PowerConnect transmission, but Crutchfield encourages customers to use an auxiliary input, wired FM modulator, or cassette adapter to ensure satisfaction with the performance of this satellite radio.

Direct Connection: Direct connection provides better audio performance than a wireless connection and removes the possibility of interference from local FM broadcasters. You can take advantage of the direct connection if your radio has an auxiliary input to connect from the receiver's mini-jack audio output.

Optional FM Direct Adapter: If your vehicle's radio does not have an auxiliary input you can use the optional FM Direct Adapter (607FMDA25, sold separately) which provides a wired connection between your SIRIUS radio and your vehicle's radio, eliminating interference sometimes experienced when using a wireless FM connection.

Optional Cassette Adapter: You can also use an optional cassette adapter (170CD330, sold separately) with the audio output of the Stratus 6 if your radio has a cassette player.

Display: The Stratus 6 tuner has a compact 3-line display. The Default screen displays the channel name, channel number, and signal strength meter on the top line, the artist name on the second line, and the song or program title on the third line. On the top line, you can toggle between channel name and category name. You can manually adjust the display's contrast and brightness controls for best viewing.

Search Modes: This unit gives you several ways to search for and select music or other programming:

• Channel: Scroll through each channel in numerical order
• Category: Scroll through each of the categories (Pop, Rock, Dance/Electronic, Hip-Hop/R&B, Country, Christian, Jazz/Standards, Classical, Latin/World, Sports, Howard Stern, Entertainment, Talk/News/NPR, Comedy, Family & Health, Religion, Traffic/Weather, Best of XM)
• Preset Tuning: The tuner allows you to store 10 presets. Preset channels can be tuned directly by pressing the preset number on the numeric keypad.
• Direct Tuning: You can also directly enter the 3-digit channel numbers using the number keys on the Stratus 6.

Jump Button: The Jump button is used to quickly tune to a traffic/weather channel of your choosing.

Signal Indicator: You can check the strength of the satellite and terrestrial signals being received. When locating the antenna in your home, you should place the antenna in a spot that illuminates the maximum number of bars on the meter.

Audio Level: The audio output level to the radio is adjustable.

Channel Lock: The Stratus 6 has the ability to lockout the use of any channel you do not want accessed without your permission. The locked channel will not appear when browsing channels. When the user tries to directly access a locked channel, the Enter Code screen will be displayed, and the channel will not be accessed until the proper code is entered.

Docking Connector: The Stratus 6 has proprietary connection on the bottom side of the receiver that plugs into the included car kit, or an optional home kit (607SUPH1, sold separately). All other connections are found on either the supplied vehicle dock or optional home dock.

Car Kit Features

Overview: The supplied car kit includes everything you need to install the SIRIUS Stratus 6 tuner into your vehicle. The kit contains a vehicle docking station, self-adhesive mounting bracket, vent mount bracket, DC power supply/FM transmission antenna (cigarette lighter adapter), and roof-mount magnetic antenna. The Stratus 6 Tuner slides down into the vehicle docking station, which then mounts to either of the supplied brackets with four mounting screws. The bracket's self-adhesive pad holds the unit firmly to the dash or the vent mounting clip attaches the unit to one of your air vents.

Note: An additional SIRIUS PowerConnect car kit (220SADV2, sold separately) is available, so you can install the SIRIUS Stratus 6 in another vehicle.

Antenna: The low-profile SIRIUS antenna has a powerful magnetic base that allows you to mount the antenna on the roof or trunk lid of your vehicle. The antenna needs to be positioned in such a way that it will be free of mechanical and line-of-sight obstructions. The antenna' s dimensions are:

• Diameter: 2.204"
• Height: 0.435"
• Cable Length: 21'

Note: The attached micro cable has a single SMB connector, which plugs into the vehicle dock.

PowerConnect Transmitter: The FM modulator built into the Stratus 6 retransmits the SIRIUS signal it receives via the PowerConnect power supply, to be tuned by your existing radio.

Dash Mount: The supplied mounting bracket features a self-adhesive pad, which will mount the vehicle dock securely to the dash. The bracket features a ball socket joint, allowing you to adjust the mounting angle.

Vent Mount: The supplied vent mount bracket allows you to mount the receiver and the vehicle dock securely to one of your air vents.

Compatibility with Optional Pro-Fit Brackets: The car kit docking station is directly compatible with the Legend series (adjustable ball/socket joint) Pro-Fit Vehicle-Specific Mounts (VSMs). When used with the Pro-Fit easy swivel adapter (042EZ1026, sold separately), the docking station will work with the standard (fixed) Pro-Fit VSMs, as well. Please, check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector for a Pro-Fit VSM that's compatible with your vehicle.

Connections: The vehicle docking station has the following connections:

• Power: input for included supplied cigarette lighter adapter (5 volts DC/1.5 amps)
• Audio Output: 3.5mm stereo mini-jack line output
• FM Output: 2.5mm sub-mini jack FM output for use with an optional wired FM direct adapter (607FMDA25, sold separately)
• Antenna: single SMB connector for attaching supplied SIRIUS antenna
