Enjoy the drive with SiriusXM

With SiriusXM's compact SXV300V1 tuner, you can liven up your daily drive with your favorite satellite radio programming. Small enough to fit neatly behind your car's dash, the SXV300V1 plugs into your SiriusXM-Ready™ car stereo without the need for any additional cables or interfaces. This complete package includes the hideaway satellite radio tuner, plus an installation guide and an exterior antenna that attaches with a powerful magnetic base.

This latest and greatest (so far) SiriusXM tuner gives you all the features you're used to, plus some very cool new ones. With the SXV300V1 and a growing list of new SiriusXM-Ready car stereos, you can create a daily programming package that's uniquely yours.

The SXV300V1 works exclusively with aftermarket in-dash receivers that have a "SiriusXM-Ready" logo — it won't work with factory radios. You'll also need an XM or SiriusXM subscription. Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.

New features with select car stereos

With select car stereos (see note below), you can access some great new SiriusXM features. Want to take some of the hassle out of your commute? The Traffic & Weather Now feature can access the latest info whenever you want to hear it. If you're a sports fan, SportsFlash™ will notify you when a big play happens during a game involving one of your favorite sports teams. And if you're a music lover, TuneMix™ plays a unique blend of songs chosen from your favorite music channels on the SiriusXM Preset Band. You can even skip songs you don't want to hear.

If you have an older SiriusXM-compatible receiver, you won't get the features above, but you'll still get all the SiriusXM music, entertainment, news, and sports programming you love, plus familiar features like Replay and iTunes® song tagging. With the SXV300V1, you can even set Song/Artist/Game alerts, so you'll always know when your favorite tunes or teams are playing on another channel. And you'll be able to enjoy those new features when you upgrade your receiver. Either way, SiriusXM's vast lineup of music, sports, news, and more will make your daily drive a whole lot more entertaining.

More channels for more choices

Depending on your subscription package, you'll also be able to enjoy SiriusXM's Xtra Channels with the SXV300V1, giving you access to over 20 new music, sports, entertainment, plus SiriusXM Latino, a collection of dedicated Spanish-language channels.

Important Note: Your receiver MUST have the "SiriusXM-Ready" logo — this adapter is not compatible with receivers that have "SAT Radio Ready", "Sirius Ready DC", or "XM Ready" logos. To access Traffic and Weather Now, SportsFlash, and TuneMix, your receiver must be a new model that supports the latest SiriusXM features.

Installation Note: If your car has a FAKRA-style satellite radio antenna connection at the radio location, we offer an adapter that will connect this tuner to your car's factory satellite radio antenna.

I Love SiriusXM!

Written By Vincent D, Maryland on Sunday, October 04, 2015

What can I say? SiriusXM is great! This installed easily on my Kenwood KDC-BT758HD, and I love it! The only con I have is that it takes a bit of time to figure out where you're going to route the antenna cable to get it through the dash and into the back of your head unit. Also, even when mounted on the front of the roof of your vehicle where the manual recommends, you still can't get a signal on cloudy or overcast days. But once installed, it's great!

Pros: What can I say it's great

Cons: Can't get signal on cloudy or overcast days

Cons: Memory doesn't work like the old unit. I can pause, but if I make a call it loses its pause.

The product is great!! The customer service at Sirius, Stinks! I despise calling them for anything but you have to when you want to remove a radio from you account. After being on the phone for 30 minutes, I finally was able to swap the radios. It's a great product but the customer service at Sirius needs some serious attention.

Pros: Works as expected

Cons: Sirius customer service

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this unit in a 2001 Winnebago motorhome. The unit works very well with the receiver that I also bought from Crutchfield. However, there is a known defect with the antenna connection on this receiver that may cause an intermittent loss of XM signal, especially if the vehicle experiences vibration. (And, wow, did we ever have some vibration on the roads in the northeast). Crutchfield had already alerted me to this fact before I bought the receiver, and had sent me the fix- which is to secure the antenna connector at a slight angle by using wire ties, just in case. I needed the fix while traveling, but also had to un-mount the unit and hang it in an odd way for the antenna connector to work consistently well. If there is a newer XM receiver design, I would suggest getting that one instead. Otherwise, mount this one with the antenna connector angled as suggested by Crutchfield.

Pros: Works well with the stereo receiver.

Cons: Antenna connector may experience intermittent connection, especially on rough roads.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very easy install--connected to my Pioneer receiver (also bought from Crutchfield a while back) in my 2001 Pathfinder. The magnetic antenna mount is very powerful, shouldn't ever fall off. Reception is excellent--I get no fading or loss even when under freeway overpasses. The installation instructions are simple to follow, too. I had a problem trying to add this receiver to my Sirius account online, so I called and spoke to a rep. who gave me the number for the activation group. I'm glad it worked out that way because it turns out it is $5.00/mo. less and I get all the channels--I was only going to get "mostly music" initially. The activation rep. was excellent--walked me through the whole process. It took a little longer to download all the channels and complete than I though it would and on my radio, at least, it didn't give me much indication as to progress--I thought the process had stalled. However, after a while a message came up that it was done and I had all my channels. A plus, of course is that the receiver is free after rebate. Very happy overall.

Pros: Easy install, great reception

Cons: Had to call to activate--had trouble trying to activate via website.

Not sure yet...

I had this installed with a sony MEXN5100BT, and it didn't work. Called Sirius, and they suggested that the install wasn't done right. Took it back to the installer, and he told me that the antenna connector is damaged, but that he used zip ties and tape to hold it in place. Now I have to get a new one...

Pros: Probably good, if not damaged

Cons: Damaged

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Hooked it up and it works great! Enough antenna wire to go the length of my SUV, but installed antenna up front. Rebate basically made this receiver free.

CONS: (I give this five stars, but here are a few design ideas I would like) Put everything together and checked operation, worked good. Put trim back and got check antenna connection. Removed trim, antenna connected but connection a little temperamental. Used wire ties to keep a firm connection, works fine. I would have like the option to run the lead through the roof (drill hole and seal). This could be done if the antenna wire came out of the bottom of the antenna and there was a recess slot to run it to the back. Unfortunately, the antenna wire exits the back of the antenna which hinders a roof punch through. I ran the wire under the windshield trim and through a door feed through. Much rather would have run inside, down pillar. Simple design change would facilitate.

Pros: Basically Free Like feature to wire tie receiver to wire bundle. Good idea.

Cons: Antenna connect a little touchy.

Sirius XM for Marine Stereo

Written By MitchN, Minnesota on Thursday, July 23, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far this tuner has been awesome. Install very easy onto my Kenwood marine stereo. Simple plug and play. In regards to reception, I got very good reception 99% of the time. I say 99% because every once in while the station would cut out. I determined that it was most likely due to the skies being heavily overcast which caused me to lose signal momentarily. The station would only cut out for half a second and would then come back on immediately. I did lose signal right away when I parked my boat back in my garage. Was to be expected but was somewhat disappointed. Had hoped that I would have received signal but being in a building with several layers of tin for ceiling and roof prevented the signal. Have had experience with regular XM radios and the cutting out momentarily happened as well while I was at my cabin in the mountains and the clouds or storms would roll through and block out the satellite signal. Overall, very satisfied.

Cons: N/A

Pros: easy to install

Cons: just another piece of hardware

Great tuner- SiriusXM customer service is awful!

Written By Twistwrench, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 21, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A very easy plug-in unit. Fit perfectly with my new receiver (as it should). Subscribing was a nightmare. The first rep I spoke with seriously had no grasp of communication skills. All said and done, once I subscribed, I checked my channels and did not receive all of them. A second call connected me with a rep who informed me this unit was XM-based and therefore I needed to buy another radio to add onto to this one to get all of the channels I wanted. After a few frustrating minutes I finally asked if I could simply upgrade my subscription? "Oh yes, we can do that too" was his response. Good grief SiriusXM! Crutchfield rules, by the way!

Having installed sirius tuners when sirius was first released, the new units are far superior to the old. The cables are simpler, shorter and the size is more compact. This unit requires nothing more than plugging in two cable ends, and running the antenna. The functionality is fast and smooth.

Pros: Compact, simple, smooth interfacing

Love Satellite Radio

Written By Rick, Colorado on Thursday, July 16, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Finally got Satellite Radio! Can't believe I've waited this long. The SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner was a breeze to install on my Kenwood KDC-X998 - just a couple of plugs in the back and ran the antenna wires out behind the dash and up through the door weather sealing and mounted the magnetic antenna on the roof above the passenger windshield on my 4Runner. Reception is great and so nice to have when traveling in the remote back country. Only reception issues were when we were under a dense set of trees or in a tunnel. Nice to have my music doing offroad trails. I've washed the truck several times and the magnetic antenna hasn't moved. Recommend this unit!

Pros: Simple Install, excellent reception!

Antenna was defective

Written By jayc, Baltimore Maryland on Wednesday, July 08, 2015

Unfortunately for me, after paying to have a new head unit, steering wheel control interface and the XM Radio adaptor, I found that the radio was not receiving a satellite signal. Troubleshooting the components I narrowed it down to the antenna. I substituted an old antenna that I had, and then everything worked fine. Now I have to pay $85 to get the defective antenna pulled out and replaced with my old one. I am NOT happy with the experience.

Pros: It worked fine after replacing the antenna. I've been an XM Radio customer since the beginning and I love the service.

Cons: I am stuck with a bad antenna, wasted time to have it reinstalled, and I am out $85.

Not the best solution for boat

Written By Fitzsailing, New Jersey on Wednesday, July 01, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Totally works. Easy to install. More for auto than boat because of the magnetic attachment system

Pros: Cinch to connect.

Cons: Will not work with older (5 yr) Clarion CMD8 because connector has changed. Had to buy new CMD8. The antenna itself has a magnet to attach it. This is not a good solution for fiberglass boats. Also the magnet will rust in the marine environment. I mounted mine inside a deck hatch.

SiriusXM SXV300V1 Needs More Buffer

Written By Scott, Far Northern California on Monday, June 22, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Happy to have satellite radio in my 2002 Silverado. The antenna is mounted at the rear of the extended cab above the third brake/cargo lamp to have a clear view of the sky. When the sky view is open it works very well. It gets the hiccups when driving in the mountains where they may be spots of heavy forest cover or deep narrow canyons. I encounter this a lot where I drive. The ability to buffer more of the music would help eliminate most of the "no service" hiccups.

Pros: Satellite radio for entertainment in most of the remote areas of the West. Easy to plug in and run the cables

Cons: Too many instances of "no service" when there are short periods of obstacles blocking view of the satellite.

Sirius/XM Great Prouct, Terrible Company

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Because I was in my Sirius 6 month paid evaluation period, Sirius service reps indicated I would not be eligible for the 3 months free trial that was part of the SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner order... The product itself and Crutchfield were absolutely great. Sirius was awful ! Installation: Antenna mounted Inside and forward on front dash. Routed the cabling around pillar molding. Reception is excellent. Didn't want any expose wire showing or holes drilled in my new mustang. Looks neat and sounds great.

Pros: The SXV300V1 Tuner seems to be a stable and well made product. Performed well. The Crutchfield crew performed super as usual....Super.

Cons: Service representatives at Sirius/XM were not able to do anymore than to read a policy that they had received for managing their customers. By my standards, I was less than impressed..

free after rebate. well.....

Written By Jeff W, Pennsylvania on Monday, June 15, 2015

Advertised as free after rebate. Well, when I called SXM to activate the radio, I was told all I would get a credit of $48 and change towards my next bill. And I had to pay a $15 connect fee because I was an existing customer. And I've had a Sirius subscription for several years previous and was now being switched to XM (not entirely happy about that) . So not really free. Otherwise, an easy install and I've not had any of the reception issues I've read about in some other reviews

Pros: Easy install, no issues

Cons: not really free as advertised

Easy install. Even though it comes with an antenna it does not work well inside my fairing. If you purchase the Harley system that antenna from what I have read works inside the fairing. I should have know. I put one of these on my car and even though it is on the roof the reception is not as good as factory installed systems.

Pros: Easy install.

Cons: No place to put the antenna on my 2008 road glide. They do however make an antenna that works by putting the antenna on your handlebars unfortunatly it costs 49$ and Crutchfield does not offer it.

XM-based, poor reception

Written By Crash, Massachusetts on Monday, June 08, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this tuner when I replaced the OEM HU in my 2014 Toyota Tacoma. I used to use the outside-the-dash, separate Sirius receivers and had no problems with signal reception. This tuner is XM-based. According to Tech Support at SiriusXM, XM-signal based units use two satellites and Sirius-signal based units use three satellites, so XM-based units do not get near as good reception as Sirius-based. This explains why this tuner drops the signal more often than the other Sirius radios I've used. You can determine if the unit is XM or Sirius-based by looking at the unit's ID number: if it's all numbers, it's Sirius-based. If it's a combo of letters and numbers, it's XM-based. For a test, I installed my old, Sirius-signal based radio and had no reception problems. But, I don't want anything outside the dash, so I installed this tuner and will have to live with signal dropping. Here's hoping SiriusXM will produce a Sirius-based, in-dash aftermarket tuner.

Pros: Everything is inside the dashboard.

Cons: Signal drops often, even in wide open areas on the highway. Ridiculous.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Plugs in easily to the head unit and then you just stuff it behind the dashboard. Antenna hooked up easily too. Antenna would have been easy to attach to the car, except for my fiberglass roof. It still wasn't hard. Sound is surprisingly good and is no worse than other sources. It sounds much better then my factory system in my 2013 Ford Edge. In that car, the stereo sounds good except for XM. Throw in the $70 gift card rebate for 2 months service and the net cost is zero. Can't beat that.

Pros: Zero net cost after rebate. Good sound. Easy interface to compatible head units.

Cons: Antenna is magnetic and requires a flat , level spot which might limit mounting on some vehicles.

XM is awesome

I recently purchased an Airstream Travel Trailer that came with a factory installed Clarion XM "ready" radio. That means you have no XM with free one year trial that you would receive with a new car. I purchased this device for under $100 and the rebate gave me three months free service and no activation fee, so it washed out the cost. The Airstream dealer installed it professionally with a small roof penetration enabling the antennae to be mounted on the roof with all wiring completely concealed. The unit was received within 2-3 days and operates perfectly... just like the car!

Pros: Net price is zero - with the three months free service and no activation. You are only obligated to another 3 months. Good for boats and RV's.

Cons: You can only listen to one radio at a time and multiple subscriptions become expensive.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not too hard to install. It came with plenty of wire to run from the back of a SUV, around the weather stripping and under the seats, floor mats, console and up to the dash. Picks up unless on a two lane road in mountainous area, but I understand this is common with all SAT radio. On wider and more open roads, there is no break in signal.

Pros: strong magnet and plenty of wire

Cons: none

so easy to install...

this is my 3rd unit on 3 different cars since 2005. i've always installed the antenna inside the car, right on the front dash all the way back to windshield. reception always been excellent!! never had a problem. installing the antenna outside does not look good at all no matter where you place it.

Pros: easy install and works perfect with pioneer nex4000 headunit.

Cons: prices should be lower. weather and traffic should be included with all packages.

Super Easy

As far as I am concerned this unit makes it SO easy to upgrade a compatible head unit to Sirius XM! Simply put the antenna in a appropriate location on your vehicle then plug it in, subscribe, and enjoy the luxury of Sirius XM on the road!

Pros: Simplicity

Cons: NONE

the product works, but the antenna does not have a positive lock in, so every big bump it would move and lose signal. I ended up taking the install apart and zip tiring and taping the antenna in place which resolved further issues

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit was very easy to install. I like it because it works with the radio controls (plug behind stereo) and it is not a separate unit/receiver that you must install somewhere else. Plug in, put behind your stereo and turn on.

Pros: Easy installation. Works with stereo controls if your radio is equipped with the Sirius plug.

Cons: None. It gets the job done.

Ever since experiencing Satellite radio a few years back, I can't live life without it. This was a super simple installation, even by someone with no prior experience.

Pros: Easy install, only visible part is the small outside receiver which easily blends in.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner was very easy to install. I installed this in my 2007 Toyota Sequoia with a Kenwood double-din head unit. The only tricky aspect of the install was the antenna. The antenna needs to be external (not on the dash) in order to pickup the best signal. I ran mine to the rear of the Sequoia on the roof off to one side (by the roof racks). I would recommend extra slack in the antenna wire near where the lift gate opens and taping the wire to the car to prevent rubbing/wear when the lift gate opens.

Pros: Strong signal and straight forward install.

Cons: Must place antenna externally.
