I've learned alot more about sound systems and installations. Even though I haven't done anything from the book yet. I plan to be using every little piece of information to create my own personal sound systems. The only downside to the book, is it doesn't give many good illustrations. And seems to repeat itself on many occasions. Other then that no complaints. If you plan on learning and building your own home or car stereo systems, I would recommend this book to anyone. 2 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The book was very informative. Good explanation of everything. I especially liked the section for different wiring configurations for speakers. I feel alot more confident now in putting together my own system. I would recommend this book to anyone. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 A book everyone should read Written By Ray, Brooklyn, NY on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 Before buying the car stereo cookbook, I didn't have alot of knowledge about car stereos. Only basic things. But after reading the book I learned more than I ever knew before. I had a better understanding of signal to noise ration to stereo imaging to head units. The author does a great job of recommending what to buy and not to buy. And he explains everything to you as if you were his student. He thoroughly explains each topic in a detailed manner. He does a great job of using the word "best" pertaining to how to install a component or whatever the topic he's talking about. For example: for a list of tools to get for installation for a head unit, he would have "best" circled next to a soldering iron for one of the tools. I also enjoyed his list of recommened reading which includes books, technical papers, and magazines. There's also a list of list of mail order supplier sites to choose from. Weather you're a novice or a pro, I highly recommend this book. You won't be dissapointed! I know have the confidence to install a head unit or spakers from reading this book. 68 out of 79 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
