Features
Overview:
The Velodyne MiniVee powered subwoofer is
incredibly small, yet powerful enough to play low and loud.
Amplifier Section:
The Velodyne MiniVee powered subwoofer
uses a high quality Class D digital amplifier that cranks out 2,000 watts
dynamic power and 1,000 watts RMS.
Driver:
The MiniVee uses an 8'' (6.5'' piston diameter) stiff Kevlar-reinforced driver
cone with a 2.5" high-temperature voice coil, 107 ounce magnet/204 ounce motor
structure and an oversized spider and vented pole piece.
Enclosure:
The acoustic suspension cabinet is made from a stylish black pica matte vinyl
wrap material. The acoustic suspension design offers outstanding accuracy and
excellent bass response.
Controls
Volume Control:
This control allows you to balance the output
from the subwoofer to the main speakers and amplifier in your system. The
control should be set to achieve similar output level from both the main
speakers and subwoofer when listening to music.
Low-Pass Crossover:
The crossover control allows you to adjust the
upper limit of the subwoofer's frequency response from 40 to 120 Hz. You should
set the crossover frequency to obtain a smooth and seamless transition from the
subwoofer to the main speakers in your system.
Crossover Bypass Switch:
A bypass switch is also provided if you wish to use and external crossover such
as the ones found in a lot of the new digital receiver's with a dedicated LFE
channel out.
Phase Adjustment: This control allows you to reverse the phase of
the subwoofer's output signal 180 degrees to correct for any possible mismatch
and resulting cancellation between subwoofer and your main speakers/amplifier.
Auto Turn On: Using this function your subwoofer can be safely left with
the main power switched on continuously. The subwoofer will turn itself on
automatically when an audio signal is present. If no signal is present for
approximately 10 minutes, the unit will switch to standby mode.
Connections
Preamp Level Input: The line-level jacks should be used when connecting the subwoofer to a
pre-amp, signal processor, line-level crossover, or receiver with pre-amp level
outputs.
Preamp Level Output: This stereo line-level output is used
with separate a pre-amp applications.
Speaker Level Input: The speaker-level jacks connect directly to the speaker outputs of any
amplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver.
