MTX ThunderForms

Overview

Our take on the MTX ThunderForms

Crinkled french fries, discarded receipts, old gum wrappers — you probably have everything in the hidden corners of your vehicle except great bass. But with custom ThunderForm enclosures, you can fill the nooks and crannies of your car, truck, or SUV with low tones that stand out.

Crinkled french fries, discarded receipts, old gum wrappers — you probably have everything in the hidden corners of your vehicle except great bass. But with custom ThunderForm enclosures, you can fill the nooks and crannies of your car, truck, or SUV with low tones that stand out.

MTX engineers evaluate the "sonic signatures" of top-selling vehicles so they can design ThunderForms as custom acoustic matches. With "rotational molding," MTX ensures that each ThunderForm fits and blends inconspicuously into your vehicle. They're made of high-density polyethylene resin to curb resonances and deliver bass that's tight, hard-hitting, and way down low. The enclosure is seamless and airtight, with the correct internal volume to yield optimum bass response from the subwoofer.

This molded MTX ThunderForm comes loaded with a premium-quality 10" Terminator speaker and mounts under the rear seat on the driver's side of the 1988-06 GM/Chevrolet Extra Cab truck, with the woofer firing downward. It bolts to the floor of the vehicle. There is no loss of leg room and the factory jack kit is not disturbed. Hardware is included. For the ultimate in Thundering bass, drive one with an MTX Thunder amplifier.

I was little skeptical about just a single 10" sub giving me what I wanted but decided to give it a shot. Wasn't needing bone splitting bass but a good supplement. What I got was more than enough. Very pleased.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was little skeptical about just a single 10" sub giving me what I wanted but decided to give it a shot. Wasn't needing bone splitting bass but a good supplement. What I got was more than enough. Very pleased.

Pros: easy installation, great performance, perfect fit, Great entry level component.

Cons: seems a little pricy considering the components used.

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, no. The unit is formed to fit the specific contours only on the driver's side. Hope that helps. [ Kenny  Jun 03, 2016 ]  Staff
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system. [ Kenny  May 31, 2016 ]  Staff
that would depend on your application, if you haven't selected your vehicle already, if you have, then i would contact an advisor or check out MTX's web page [ JON  Jan 27, 2014 ]
