Overview

Our take on the MTX Vehicle-specific Unloaded Enclosure — Dual 10"

MTX vehicle-specific unloaded enclosures preserve all the legroom in pickup trucks and all the cargo space in SUVs. Each enclosure is an acoustically-designed, non-resonant, airtight enclosure, with the correct internal volume to yield optimum bass response from a compatible subwoofer.

So what makes these enclosures different than a standard sub box? MTX designs each enclosure for optimum performance in your specific vehicle's acoustic space. Using state-of-the-art rotational molding techniques, and exotic high-density polyethylene, MTX creates a sculpted masterpiece of a sub box, beautifully finished to blend with your interior. And they sound as good as they look, delivering bass that's tight, accurate, hard-hitting, and way down low.

This enclosure comes without speakers — you can install two small-box (Type 1) 10" subwoofers. The enclosure mounts under the rear seat of your 2002-up Dodge Ram Quad Cab truck (please enter your vehicle information to determine compatibility with your truck). Please check with us before purchasing by using the vehicle selector on our site, or calling an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to verify fit information.

Best prebuilt box I've ever installed. Fits like a glove and looks like its factory.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a nice looking installed box. It fits pretty tight in my 2004 ram. I had a problem with the speaker hole cuts. They didn't look like they were cut in the correct location. The holes should have been cut maybe .5 inches closer to the front of the box. There was not enough box material to screw in my JL 10w1's. I had to get bigger screws to get some bite into the box to hold the back of the speakers down. For the price of the box I feel that more time would have been taken with the speaker hole cuts.

Very pleased.

This is a very well made box, other than a custom fiberglass box, there is no other way to get this much air space under the back seat. I put 2 JL audio 10w1's in it powered by a JL G1700 with a 1 Farad capacitor, and I was blown away by the amount of bass coming from under my back seat. As always Crutchfield's customer service is outstanding.

This is a well built box. It fits snugly under the seats and looks good. The problem I encountered was that the speakers I chose to put in this box didn't come close to fitting. (Blaupunkt vw1000's) After making a custom plate to fit in the pie-shaped recessed area around the speaker opening to raise and reposition the speaker, and enlarging the existing holes, I was finally able to mount my subs.

After the modifications I have to say I'm completely impressed with the sound produced by this box. I used to have two 12" Fosgate P2's in a much larger box and this box with two 10's blows them away.

Just installed this into my 03' QC and it's definetely a well thought out product. I did not have the folding floor in my truck so all I had to do was set it down into place a screw it down using the provided hardware. The box is wired parallel. I'm running 2 10" pioneers off a MXA 6001 @ 2ohms. I was looking for something to give the truck a more full sound, it definetly surpased my expectations. Well worth it!

This subwoofer box has a cutout diameter of 9.1875", can support a frame diameter of 10.375", and a maximum driver depth of 7.0" so as long as your subwoofers can with within those criteria, then you can put them into this box. The manual does not list any space for an amp which means you will need to find a place to mount it and a capacitor. Also, it has one box terminal for connecting speaker wire so you will to power both subwoofers with one amp. Feel free to call an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation. It depends on the cutout diameter of the sub and also the overall mounting diameter of the sub. The mounting diameter MTX provides on the provided schematic leaves no room for slop, it's tight. In my 2012 Ram there was no room to mount an amp under the rear seat along with the box. Your amp will most likely have to go under the front seat unless you purchase a rear seat release kit to be able to mount them behind the seat (this is assuming crew cab not quad cab). Also if you are going to wire subs parallel you will not be able to use the post connectors on the box. [ RYAN M Apr 26, 2016 ]
