Overview

Our take on the MTX JackHammer JH4510-04

MTX JackHammer Series subwoofers offer the deep, powerful bass output found in competition subs, at a price that won't shake your wallet.

MTX JackHammer Series subwoofers offer the deep, powerful bass output found in competition subs, at a price that won't shake your wallet.

The JH4510-04 10" subwoofer sports a rubber surround that's stitched directly to the polypropylene cone for extra strength, then rolled to maximize cone excursion so this sub'll move some air. High-temperature copper voice coils let this JackHammer sub deliver powerful bass with smooth, piston-like precision.

MTX's patented Spider Plateau Venting keep the inner works cool, so this sub can rock for hours. The stamped steel basket adds strength and support, while a rubber boot and distinctive dust cover lend this sub an extra dash of style.

Bought this sub expecting not rediculose output for the money but it suprised me. Running 1 of these 10''s in my 92 camry shakes my whole car. Very impressed with this sub.

Impressed with MTX JH4510

I've had one MTX JH4510-04 for almost 1 year now in my 1999 Saturn. It is as loud and has the same sound quality as the first day. It's in a ported enclosure designed exactly as MTX has recommended; see manualslib.com JH4510. I had checked their box design with WinISD v0.44 and saw that its an optimum design; 27Hz; -3dB @24Hz; 109dB @200W RMS (Orion 250 SX); 40Hz due to the incredibly low 27Hz port tuning. This sounds great with a broad range of music genres: DJ Bass Boy, Skrillex, Metallica, Madonna, Tchaikovsky. You'll want a subsonic filter with a 18 or 24dB/Oct set at a few Hz below 24 Hz to prevent exceeding maximum cone excursion while also minimizing attenuation around 24Hz.

Pros: affordable loud quality sound, enclose small enough for the trunk of a compact car, only 200W RMS needed, hasn't blown with normal use

Cons: none

Perfect for my application

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was wanting a Sub that was not so boomy and for my set up I couldn't be more pleased. I put it in a sealed box that I built to the volume spec but is also custom for my Dodge Ram 1500 std cab. I have a JVC head unit running to a HiFonics 4 ch amp that I have configured to 3 ch with ch 3&4 bridged to the sub. This puts up to 400 W to it and WOW! This thing really rocks!!! Sharp, Clean, Clear, Punchy Base! With the Sony componant speakers in the doors and behind the seats, my system is now complete. All for just under $600. Thanks a million Crutchfield for everything, especially your support and guidance. You are second to none.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these subs 3 years ago, and then pulled them from my car and am put them in my sons car. It has been another year, and they are still pounding. We are so impressed with these, that we are redoing my sons Mustang GT and putting 4 of them in there. We could have gone with 12's but why not. For the money, you cant go wrong with these. Never had a problem, and they sound great.

Wonderful product for the price. Ordered a pair of these subs and they perform perfectly in my Mazda 3. Sounds great in ported box. Highly recommend for someone that is looking for a nice sub for a low price. Only problem is I can be heard from blocks away.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought one of these for my neon awhile ago, not wanting to spend to much but i wanted something that would at least be decent. I had this sub in a ported S/O box powered by a 350watt jackhammer amp. this thing shook my whole car. I bought another one and made a custom box to put behind the seat of my truck, no matter where you put this sub, or what you put it in, it is going to thump HARD for a CHEAP price.

This sub is great for daily driving and gives me enough bass without the fear of going deaf. It's powered by a MTX Jackhammer JH300 amp. This setup is perfect. Crutchfield was really helpful with the tuning of my new system and I look forward to more purchases.
