Overview

Our take on the MTX JH4510-X2D

MTX puts decades of box-building experience into their JackHammer Series enclosures. Built to showcase MTX's JackHammer subwoofers, each enclosure starts with extra-strength 3/4" MDF panels with interlocking construction for stability, then adds a side-firing port for hard-hitting bass. The 8-gauge compression terminals provide better contact and make hookups easy. Angled corners and distinctive finishes make these enclosed subs look as amazing as they sound.

The JH4510-X2D enclosure handles up to 400 watts RMS and houses two 10" JackHammer 45 Series subwoofers, wired for 2-ohm impedance so you get the most out of your mono amp. A matte black, PVC vinyl-covered double baffle shows off your subs and adds firing depth, while the angled back fits snugly against a seat back.

Okay so i have these two subs but bought them from an online auction site.. They came with dimensions for building your own sealed and ported boxes. So I built two ported boxes and wow these slam and hit lows way better than I thought. They're driven by a pioneer gm5500 amp and are just mind blowing. Definitely a good buy

I received my Dual 10inch Jackhammer enclosure for Christmas, first I got to say, they are SO cool looking, just sleek and sexy! My product actually came damaged.... One of the subs doesn't work properly, disappointing of course! I called crutchfield asap, they are sending me a replacement asap and they were awesome about it! Even with one sub not working, the single sub by itself POUNDS I don't listen to hip hop or any of that crap, but it totally just rounds out my music system with that crisp bass! Its like im at the concert LIVE! You cant beat the price either!! Probably it got damaged in transit to my residence, so I don't blame crutchfield at all. I replaced all my speakers with some DS8 Kickers so my 1996 explorer is sounding awesome! Great buy and a great present! Thanks for awesome customer service

Pros: Easy install, Thump hard even with one

Cons: Came damaged

Great subs. For the regular price these subs are a good deal. For the price that I paid these subs were an absolute steal! I received them on 11/12/12 & installed them on 11/13/12. The box looks great, not too bulky for housing 2 10"subs, and sounds great. These subs hit hard & I'm driving them with a Kenwood KAC 8105D amplifier with the gain set at a little above 50%. I also have the bass boost set at 2 out of a possible 10 and these subs still hit very hard. They're not too boomy & won't overpower your music. I replaced an Infinity Basslink that was still serving me faithfully after a year because I wanted some more thump without my subs overpowering my mids & highs & these gave me exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking to disturb your neighbors then this isn't for you. If you're like me and just want a good sounding system with moderate power consumption then this product will be just what the doctor ordered. My lights are dimming on songs with a lot of bass but I think that the big 3 upgrade that I'm planning to do soon will take care of that. All & all a great product sold by a first rate company. Only con I have is that the subs don't come with a product manual so you have to use common sense for the break in period(I'm still being cautious with mine).

Pros: Good price, sounds great, hits hard, looks good. Box seems very well made.

Cons: No product manual. Cargo space sacrifice.

Features

Overview: The MTX JackHammer JH4510X2D is a dual 10" subwoofer enclosure. The vented enclosure houses two 4Ω, 10" JackHammer 45 series woofers wired in parallel to present a 2Ω load at the enclosure's one set of speaker terminals.

Vented Enclosure: The enclosure is made of 3/4" MDF, joined together using interlocking dado and v-groove construction. It's covered in black carpet on five sides and the front panel features a flat black PVC cover. The corners have rounded edges for a hand-built, custom look. The rear panel of the enclosure is built with an 80° angle so it can fit tight against the back of the rear seat. The enclosure also has a side-firing slot port for maximum output, and nickel-plated compression terminals (spring posts) that can handle up to 10 gauge bare wire, pin connectors, and single or dual banana plugs.

Dual 10" Woofers: The JH4510X2D features two MTX JackHammer 45 series 10" woofers featuring:

  • Polypropylene Cone: The woofer features a silver-colored, stitched polypropylene cone with an industrial-looking "riveted" dust cap design and MTX Audio Jack Hammer logo. Polypropylene is lightweight yet durable and offers efficient, dependable bass response.
  • Rubber Surrounds: Each Jack Hammer series woofer features a rubber surround that is stitched directly to the cone for durability. The woofer's rubber surround uses FEA optimized roll geometry to maximize excursion without sacrificing cone surface area.
  • Voice Coil: The woofer's voice coil is wound with 428-degree High Temperature wire to ensure reliability at any volume.
  • Spider Plateau Venting Technology: The Jack Hammer series woofer uses proprietary Spider Plateau Venting technology which helps push hot air out of the voice coil and bring cool air in, adding to the reliability of the subwoofer and keeping it cool even in the hottest vehicles.
  • Asymmetrical Linear Drive System: The woofer's Asymmetrical Linear Drive System combines a flat progressive spider with an extended pole piece to reproduce smooth, linear motion for incredibility crisp, clean sound.
  • Stamped Basket: The JH45 subwoofer has a stamped basket design for structural strength, a stamped back panel, and a large rubber boot protecting the woofer's magnet.
